"I still can't believe your brother's okay with this," Cormag said as Tana led him to her chambers. "I mean, look at the way he treated Prince Ephraim, I would've thought for sure he'd lose it at hearing some Grado traitor propose to his sister."
"Oh, Innes has always had a grudge against Ephraim," Tana said. "And you're no longer a Grado traitor, you're a knight of Freila."
"And this is okay with your people? They're not going to get all up in arms over their princess marrying one of her knights?"
"Seth and Eirika did it. So did my brother and Syrene." She sat down on the bed, removing the clasp from around her ponytail. "I don't see why we can't."
"You've got a point." Cormag smiled, sitting beside her and wrapping an arm around her waist. Tana gave a sigh of contentment and leaned against him.
"Do you ever miss being a woodcutter?" she asked.
"Sometimes," he said, "but in the end I was glad you tracked me down and brought me back to Freila." He pressed a brief kiss to her temple. "I really missed you."
"Mmm." Tana snuggled closer. "I missed you too. And I can't wait until we're married." She smiled. "Then we'll finally be able to sleep in the same room."
Cormag smirked.
"You're an odd bird." He pressed a brief kiss to her lips. "But you're my odd bird. Don't ever change."

Yes, I ship Syrene/Innes. Yeah, they don't support but I've always thought they might be interesting together.
