The challenge is called Star's Alternative Yule Ball Challenge - response Ginny harry Ron lavender Hermione Draco.

Weeks before the ball Hermione was sitting in the library, looking up some research for the present potions essay she was working on for snape. unbenonced to her a certain blond hair boy was lurking around the corner trying to find away to ask her to the ball... she had already turned down krum but was really hoping to be asked by someone else so she would not have to hear the badgering from Ronald. Harry had already asked Ginny to the ball being as they had started dating the week before it was announced. Ron was only happy that Ginny was with somebody he trusted rather then some idiot. Hermione how ever was realy starting to fall inlove with None other then Draco Malfoy. She dint realy know when this started to happen but it was and there was no way to stop it he had changed sides only months before the start of term. Draco had even moved into her house of course he was sleeping in the other room because it was not appropriate. But for apperiences at the school he was still mean to her and still gave her a hard time.

Draco watched his "girl" as he was starting to think of her, sitting at the table studying. slowly he walked out of the shadows to sit next to her.

"'Mione?" Draco said

"Yes Draco" she said never looking from the book till he took her hand

"Will you please come to the ball with me i want to be your boyfriend i mean we have been living together and i cant stand being mean to you around this school any more i think i am falling in love with you." Draco said then went to stand and leave.

"Draco wait, i love you to, i don't know when it happened but it did and i know it is something we can not control but yes i would love to go to the ball with you but we cant tell anyone who we are taking i want it to be a surprise."

Deal Draco said.

The day of the ball arived, while draco was getting ready hermione was to she wore a very pretty silver halter top dress with a single dimond round between her chest, the dress was knee length and was almost see through but not completely. Draco was to be wearing black dress robes with a silver tie to match her pure silk dress that he had bought her weeks before.

It was time for the couple to meet for the ball draco was standing next to harry and ginny talking about the day when herminoe came down the stairs

"oh my gosh, she is so pretty" Ginny said

Dracos head snaped in the direction of the stairs and his mouth droped she was so breath taking wearing the small silver heals and neklace he had given her wtih the promise ring on her left hand, her hair was in a striaght bun with wisps of hair falling neatly around her face to frame it.
