A/N: My first Maximum Ride fic. I love Fang/Iggy pretty much to death.

Iggy cannot see.

The permanent darkness enveloping him is unimportant when it comes to this. Fang is dark too, he can feel that through their clothing as they curl together in an embrace, the tips of their wings barely touching.

Fang's pulse in his wrist is quickening against Iggy's own. His breath is heavy and trembling, not like anything Iggy's heard before. Fang's hair tickles his face and his mouth is murmuring things, nonsensical things, and his eyelashes are wet when they brush the side of his cheek.

"Fang."

He can feel Fang, all of Fang; all of the pain, all of the tears, all of the whispers against his skin. But he can't see Fang. Can barely form a picture in his mind of what Fang looks like now.

He's forgetting what Fang looks like.

And that's okay, somehow. They curl closer and their hands are linked, and the fingertips of Iggy's opposite hand trace Fang's face with feather-light touches. Barely there.

"I wish I could see you," is all Iggy can say as their breath mingles.

Fang leans in closer, and their faces are mere inches apart as he whispers, "I wish I could tell you everything."

So for now, they share each other's warmth in the cold of their cage. Iggy can't see the other's face, but can hear when his breath hitches and he falls asleep.

Iggy can't see Fang, but he can feel him move closer.

He can feel him, close.

He can feel him.

That's all he needs to know that he's still safe.
