Happy Birthday Sonny

Summary: "This is the worst birthday ever…" she muttered quietly. "Look out the window." Chad told her, and Sonny did so and her eyes widened in surprise.

Disclaimer: I own nothing except the idea! I asked for Sterling for my birthday though…

A/N: Today is my birthday! Yay for me! xD And what could be best than an awesome Channy dream I had just this morning? I wrote it on Philosophy class… :P Hope you like it. It might seem a little sad at the beginning but don't blame me… I was listening to 'Catch me' by Demi so make sure you listen to it while you read it…

Sonny Monroe was lying on a hospital bed looking blankly at the clock standing on the wall in front of her. She sighed and bit her bottom lip to avoid letting a tear fall down her cheek.

"This is the worst birthday ever…" she muttered quietly.

She looked at the clock again. It showed 23:48. Only twelve more minutes of her birthday. The nurses told her mom to leave about ten minutes ago so she could have some rest. Sonny turned to the other side and turned the light off preparing to go to sleep. The sound of the rain hitting the window relaxed her.

As she closed her eyes her phone mooed. She sighed and picked it up.

"Hello?" she answered not even bothering to check the ID.

"Hi Sonny." Chad's unmistakable voice said on the other side of the line. She noticed tiredness and worry in his voice and rain could be heard on the background."Happy birthday, sorry for calling so late I was out all day."

"Hi Chad," Sonny replied softly "thanks."

"What's wrong?" he asked.

A warm tear fell down her cheek.

"I had the worst birthday ever…" she explained "First my friends didn't remember it, except you, then my dad called saying he couldn't come because there is a big storm in Wisconsin and they cancelled all flights. Finally when I was returning home me and my mom had a car crash and the doctors wanted me to stay here in the hospital for the night to make sure I was fine." Sonny spilled sadly.

She heard a deep sigh on the other side of the line.

"I'm really sorry Sonny, this is all my fault." Chad replied.

"No it's not. You weren't even at the studio today." Sonny told him.

"Yes it is. I spend all day organizing your surprise party and I told your friends to pretend they forgot your birthday so you were even more surprised, I called your dad to invite him to the party and he lied to you so it could be another surprise."

Sonny listened carefully.

"Your mom was driving you to the party when you had the car crash." Chad finished "It's all my fault."

She took a few minutes to digest what Chad was saying.

"It's ok…" she muttered.

"No it's not. I want to make up to you." He insisted.

A small smile crept on her face.

"Chad you don't need to and it's almost mid-night."

"Just look out the window." He told her.

Sonny wrinkled her nose in confusion but stood up and walked to the window. She looked outside and her eyes widened in surprise.

On the roof of the building in front of her window could be read in sparkly lights 'Happy Birthday Sonny'. Warm tears fell down her cheeks. One after one but instead of a frown there was a truly happy smile on her face.

Chad was standing on the rain, next to the lights, dripping wet smiling at her and waving goodbye.

"Thanks… so… much… Chad." She managed to say between sobs.

He flashed a true warm smile at her from the window.

"Happy Birthday Sunshine." He whispered softly to his phone.
