Max's POV

"Please?"

"No."

"Please, Max. I'll do anything in return."

"Fang, no."

"Why not?"

"You're starting to sound like Gazzy."

Fang glared at me, and I returned it gladly. There was absolutely no way we'd steal from a chocolate shop. No way. Sure, we've stolen sometimes. But only when we needed to.

"But I'm hungry." Fang pointed out.

"Why are you so whiny and talkative today?" I asked, irritated. I regretted picking him as my 'Shopping Buddy,' as Nudge called it. Nudge and Angel went together; Iggy and Gazzy. Then,

me and Fang. We were supposed to find food; Nudge and Angel clothes; and Iggy and Gazzy a place to stay.

We stood outside a chocolate shop, Fang looking wistfully at the displays of chocolate. We were in New York; therefore people ignored us and walked along.

"Everyone will like it." Fang said. "Did I say I'll do anything? Please, Max. I'm starving."

"Fang, you're not the type to do this." I said thoughtfully.

"But I need chocolate. Come on. You want some, too." He nudged my arm.

I shook my head.

"I'll die," He told me. "And...you don't like it when I'm dying or near dying."

"Fang, shut up and let's go, okay?"

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"Fang, for the last time, no!" I glared at him and attempted to step on his toe. He dodged it easily.

Fang was silent for a while, and I thought he had given up. I looked at him.

And he gave me the Bambi eyes. The. Freakin'. Bambi eyes.

Dear god, whatever has happened to our emo boy?!

My knees felt like jello and I stuttered, "Uh...maybe just...a box of chocolates. And-and we find the flock. Okay?" I bit my lip.

Fang grinned and gave me quick peck on the cheek. "I thought so."
