Note: Yes, I'm not dead! Its been forever like one year forever :P I have no plans to update this fic but then again why not just update this and get this over with. So here it is Fourteen's chapter seventeen enjoy the cringe worthy craziness and cliche-ness. :D

Chapter Seventeen

"I'm still yours..."

"I miss you Naruto..."

"Dad, when will mommy come back to us?" Kaoru asked her dad, while he was trying to help her tie her ribbon (for school). It's been a week since her mom left, she's been in touch with her mother by phone everyday her mother make sure to call her just to ask her what happen to school or if she's okay but other than that there's nothing. Being able to communicate with her via phone is making her lonelier.

"Dad?" she called out her dad, prodding him to speak.

"I don't know Kaoru." Sasuke honestly answered his daughter, "She'll come back as soon as she finish what she has to do.." He said standing up while picking up his car keys. "Let's go Kaoru you'll be late for school."

"But dad…don't you miss mommy?" Kaoru asked her dad with a cute pout on her face. In return, Sasuke gave her a warm but nostalgic smile.

"I miss her every day."

Kaoru stopped on her tracks to hear a familiar ringing tone.

"Daddy your phone is ringing!"

"Naruto I'm back!" Kushina announced, getting the attention of her daughter who's currently putting all the freshly washed laundry to the hamper.

"Welcome back mom." Naruto paused on her work when she noticed a bouquet of colorful flowers on top of the bench. "What's these for mom?" she asked, picking up the bouquet while admiring the beauty of it.

"That's for your dad, remember tomorrow is his death anniversary." Naruto suddenly feel upset, she looks up to her mother she feels sorry for her. Until now she thinks that her husband died in a car accident she didn't know the truth that he was actually alive and have his new family of his own. "How can I even tell mom the truth? She'll be complete heartbroken again if she learn the truth about dad being alive and how he betrayed and lied to us." She thought to herself.

"Naru-chan, are you alright?" Kushina couldn't help but to ask her daughter, since she arrived a week ago the usually cheerful and full smiles daughter became more somber and uncharacteristically moody.

"Y-Yeah, I'm alright mom." Naruto said as she continue her work. "I feel sorry that you don't know that your own husband left you for another woman…I feel sorry to you mom and our family…" she thought to herself, while wiping the tears flowing down her cheeks.

"He said he loves us…he said that when a person loves you they will come back for you…but that's not true…love?" She scoffed, "There's no such thing as love. In the end that feeling they call love is the biggest pain that will happen in your life…"

That night, Kushina had prepared a different variety of food as if there's going to be a celebration, Naruto knotted her forehead, confused. She couldn't understand why her mother will prepare such 'feast' when they're the only once in the house.

"What's going on mom why did you cook so many food?" she couldn't help but to ask her mother in amusement. "Do you have any visitors coming?" she asked once again while taking a seat beside her mother.

"Well as the matter of fact—…" as if on cue, the doorbell went off, both of them look at the door. Confused Naruto turned to look at her mother, surprisingly, she have this undeniable look of excitement on her face.

"Just wait and stay here." Kushina instructed her daughter before leaving for the door. Left utterly confused Naruto decided to stare at the mouth-watering variety in front of her. "That lobster looks so delicious I can't wait to taste it!" She thought to herself while visibly licking her lips.

"Mommy!" Naruto gasped, automatically she stood up to face the direction where she heard that familiar voice without giving her any warnings she felt a weight jump on her. "Whoa…" she yelped at the addition of weight on her body caught her off guard.

"Kaoru!"

"Aye aye mommy!" Kaoru said enthusiastically while hugging her mother with all her 'kiddie' strength.

Surprise, she couldn't utter a single word. She looks up only to be more literally surprise. Behind Kaoru is Sasuke and her mother following suit.

"No…way…" she unconsciously said under her breath, her sapphire eyes widen in surprise. She didn't expected Sasuke and Kaoru to be here after all she did asked Sasuke for space.

"Now that we're complete let's start eating dinner! I can't wait for all of you to taste my cooking!" Kushina said excitedly motioning for her granddaughter to take a seat close to her.

"Uh well…thank you for your invitation Kushina-san." Sasuke said awkwardly trying to start a conversation to cut the silence enveloping the four of them.

"Mom you invited them?" Naruto asked (as she tried to hide how upset she is) she wanted to facepalm herself right now. How can she do this? It's not that she don't want to see her daughter but she didn't really want to see Sasuke, not right now that she's in the process of trying to forget him.

"Yeah, I want to see my granddaughter and hopefully to get to know of my future-son-in law all over again. Don't you agree Sasuke?" Kushina teased.

"Y-Yeah…" Sasuke agreed, while stealing a glance on the woman he loves.

"Also tomorrow is your dad's death anniversary I want Kaoru to visit the grave with us." Kushina reminded her daughter, who apparently don't look so please of her plans.

"Yay! I could finally visit grand-daddy!" Kaoru said enthusiastically while she enjoyed her spaghetti.

"Kaoru don't talk while your mouth is still full!" Naruto reprimanded her daughter softly while wiping the tomato sauce on (Kaoru's) cheek.

"S-Sowy mom!" Kaoru apologized cutely to her mom.

"Aww, your so cute…say Kaoru wanna sleep together with your grand-mommy tonight?" Kushina asked her granddaughter.

"Of course!" Kaoru jumped in excitement at the idea of sharing a bed with her grandmother.

"Wait, they're sleeping over here?" Naruto asked, deep inside she's panicking at the very idea. Kaoru sleeping over in the same place as she is was okay but the thought of Sasuke sleeping in a same place as she is definitely out of her list! Sasuke can't stay!

"Yeah why not?"

"But there's only one room mom and we only have a futon for one person so…"

"Not a problem, you and Sasuke are a couple so it's alright for the two of you to share," Then Kushina turned to the only man in the group, "Right Sasuke?" she asked, knotting her eyebrows.

"Uh…yeah there's no problem to me at all." Sasuke said while looking at the obviously, awkward blond.

"B-But mom!"

"What's wrong? Did you two fight?" Kushina asked her daughter with a frown.

"No we did not fight." Naruto answered quietly while looking down her lap.

"Then there's no problem at all." Kushina said dismissing her daughter's 'problem'

Later that evening.

Kushina and Kaoru are already deeply sleeping.

"Hey, are you still awake?" Sasuke asked, but he didn't receive any response.

"I know you asked for space…but don't worry Naruto I am not here to trouble you at all…I'm just here because your mother asked me to come…I am also here because Kaoru needed her mother…" Sasuke said quietly so that he wouldn't disturb the other two from sleeping. "So…auntie doesn't know about our situation huh…"

"No…" Naruto replied, her back still facing the raven.

Sasuke turned to look at the back of Naruto's head as he wait for her to speak. "It's going to be hard to explain to her why we broke up…I don't want her to know that your dad is still out there to punish me for making his sons 'fall for little old me' and I can't tell her that the husband she dearly love is not really dead but instead left us for his other family." Naruto said bitterly, tears gathering at sides of her blue eyes. She shifted, to face Sasuke (her tears continuously cascading down her cheek.

"Dad's betrayal was really painful...it really hurt...and to think if mom discovered the truth it'll destroy her." Naruto said her voice hoarse.

Sasuke could see how heartbroken Naruto is and it hurt him to see her like this.

"Naruto.…" he whispered her name (but loud enough for her to hear) wiping her tears with his thumb, he then grabbed her hand gently putting her palm against his chest, his onyx eyes intensely staring at her sapphire once. Despite being uneasy blond didn't pull away from his hold, her palm can feel his beating heart and thru that simple gesture she feels his warmth and sincerity.

"Naruto…I will always be here with you even not as a boyfriend I will always be here, standing by you as a friend and the person who deeply cares for you…" Sasuke said while his free hand caressing her tears-stained cheek.

"Naruto…I'm here for you…if you're afraid then be afraid with me by your side…if you're suffering then you will suffer with me…" Sasuke then kisses her on top of her head.

"I'm still yours…"
