Epilogue

It had been a year almost to the day Jason had broken in to that rundown house in Vera Cruz and found Sam being held captive by Jerry. Looking back on it now Jason and Sam both should thank Michael and Kristina for running away like they did, not that they ever would because it's extremely stupid and dangerous. But if they hadn't who knows if the two of them would ever have gotten back together. It wasn't very likely considering Sam had purposely hidden her whereabouts to Jason and never had any intention of letting him find her. When she had left Port Charles she was heartbroken and shattered. Vowing to never come back. She had declared herself gone for good.

Boy was she glad she was wrong.

But it was a year later now and it only seemed fitting that Jason and Sam celebrated the day in some way. They had been talking about it for weeks, more like Maxie and Spinelli had been, but still they agreed with the younger married couple that they should do something to mark the date.

It was Molly who came up with the perfect idea. And this was how Sam found herself back in the small Mexican town, this time on a secluded beach and not a single gun in sight.

"Are you sure I look alright?" Sam asks Maxie and her sisters fussing with the stray hair curling down her face. But it was none of the younger women that answered.

"You look gorgeous Sam." Alexis says on a sigh, clutching her hands over mouth and fighting tears.

"Alexis, don't you start!" Maxie says pointing a finger in the lawyers face and giving her a stern look. "I just got Sam's makeup fixed and we don't have time to do it again."

"I know… I just…Look at you!" Alexis says her voice rising at the end as she fights to follow Maxie's orders.

"Alright! That's it, everyone out!" Carly calls standing up and handing little Josslyn off to Kristina and Molly. "Why don't you two beautiful ladies take Joss here and your mother out and find your places. We'll be starting soon anyways." Giggling the girls follow directions and Alexis leaves with one more watery smile for Sam. Carly then turns to Maxie. "Mind if you give us a moment?"

"I don't want there to be any black eyes or claw marks either Carly!" Maxie snaps crossing her arms over her chest.

"Oh please!" Carly laughs and waves a hand. "Sam and I got over our little fights long ago, right Sam?"

Maxie hesitates for a moment before finally grudgingly agreeing. "But you two only have two minutes! Just because this is small and in the middle of nowhere doesn't mean we can't keep a schedule."

Carly only nods her head and waits to roll her eyes until Maxie is gone. "Good now it's just us girls here we can have a quick chat."

"Let me guess." Sam says on a sigh, grateful at least she no longer felt like crying. "If I hurt Jason blah blah blah you will blah blah blah?" Sam says rolling her own eyes now.

Smiling Carly nods her head. "Yes there is that…but also…if he does anything stupid to hurt you let me know because than I'm going to blah blah blah him too."

"What?" Sam says now confused.

Smiling Carly steps forward and grabs hold of Sam's shoulders and gives the smaller woman one little shake. "I don't have a lot of time to say this, but I want you to know I have never seen my best friend so happy. And I have no problem hurting any man that breaks her heart. I don't care if he happens to be like family to me. Jason is going to have to answer to me if he screws this up." Carly says squeezing Sam's shoulders now, her eyes tearing up.

"Carly…" Sam says blinking rapidly to prevent the tears. "Thank you." Sam says simply and pulling the blonde in for a hug.

"You're welcome." Carly says hugging Sam back. "Now let's go out there and finally get this over with! It's about time don't you think?" She asks causing Sam to laugh.

"Past time." Sam sighs exiting the tent behind Carly.

"And just think, in a few months we'll be doing this all over again for me!" It's Carly's turn to sigh.

"Let's get through this first and then we can worry about you." Sam chuckles and then with one final squeeze of her hand Carly goes off to find her seat between Sonny and Michael.

Soon after the music starts and Sam has her cue to come around the trees and make her way down the make shift sandy isle towards Jason. Her eyes briefly scan over to Spinelli standing behind him and to the side, she can't help but smile at the absolutely thrilled look on his face. But her attention is once again brought back to Jason and how handsome he looks. No tux for a secluded beach wedding and no big white dress. Jason was in dress slacks and a white dress shirt. And Sam, much to Maxie and Kristina's annoyance, simply went with a simple ivory dress she had found while shopping one day, it was perfect.

Sam made it down the aisle in no time and soon the ceremony was starting. It went fast, faster than Sam expected, but that was probably due to the excitement. Everyone got a good laugh when Spinelli dropped her ring in the sand due to his nerves and excitement. Maxie of course was completely poised holding Jasons. Other than that it went by without a hitch. When they were told to kiss Sam and Jason didn't need to be told twice.

Leaning in they forgot for a moment where they were and who was watching and it was perfect. They both had been waiting for this moment for so long. Had been put through so much that to finally be at this point, well who could blame them for forgetting. Pulling apart they both turned to look at the guest, there weren't that many.

Maxie and Spinelli of course who were now standing hand in hand smiling. Then you had Alexis and the girls sitting on one side with Stephen and Sonny, with Carly's head on his shoulder as she wiped a tear from her eye on the other with the boys. Diane sat behind with Max and Milo. And behind Sam's mother and sisters was Robin and Patrick and their little girl. And then much to Sam's pleasure, and surprise, stood in the back away from everyone, but still their, was Jerry Jax. When she smiled directly to him he simply waved and smiled back.

"He came!" Sam exclaimed in a whisper to Jason holding his hand tightly to her chest.

"I still can't believe you invited him." Jason said, but with amusement in his voice. Over the past year after everything settled down Jason was surprised to find protecting Jerry wasn't all the hard. The guy really was quite smart and Jason couldn't prove it, but he thought Jerry wasn't committing as much crime as he used to.

"Jason we practically owe him for getting us back together." Sam murmured still smiling at Jerry. "Not to mention he saved my life."

"You're right." Jason agreed, not only because he didn't want to disagree with Sam today of all days, but because she was right. So Jason also waved at Jerry and sent him a warm smile that was returned.

And with that the couple lean in for another kiss before making their way down the aisle, this time with glitter and paper thrown over their heads. There wouldn't be a reception…Sam and Jason both didn't want to risk any bad luck. So while the guests went off and enjoyed their weekend retreat in Mexico the newlyweds were off on their own honeymoon.

The End

So this story is officially finished. Yay! I can't believe when I started this it was only a one shot! And then I figured maybe get 5 chapters out of it. And now, years later, it turned into 42 chapters! I highly doubt a lot of my original readers and reviewers are still even with me. But for those who are and the new ones that found me, and for all that have gone and come back I want to say from the bottom of my crappy writers block heart…THANK YOU! And SORRY!

This story is only being finished because I was still getting reviews after all this time and I just couldn't leave you guys hanging like that. This story took a lot more than I thought and took a lot longer than I thought, but I'm proud to say I finished it. I started this story while working at a gas station and a restaurant while going to school in one state and finished it three jobs later and in a new state and a new school. This story grew and changed with me so much. You can probably tell through my writing and length between some posts.

I was even kicked off one thread because they didn't like my posts, but that is a whole different thing. It's just interesting to see where I started this story at and where we are now.

I want to thank you all again. And I hope you enjoyed this and maybe come back and read it again sometime!

Thank you,

Jesi
