I'm pretty sure that no-one will have read this book series. I'm not even sure there's a fandom for it, but after finishing the last one in the series, this fic sprang up fully formed in my head and I just had to write it.

Title: Timeless
Author: Mickey Sixx
Fandom: The Warriors Trilogy by N. M. Browne [Warriors of Alavna, Warriors of Camlann, Warriors of Ethandun]
Pairing/character: Ursula/Dan
Rating: FRM/R
Disclaimer: Don't own. Don't sue.
Word Count: 486
Summary: They'd been so many different things to so many people

Notes/Warnings: Contains SPOILERS for all three books. Set quite a few years after the end, so sex is not underage. A rare het piece from me, and also the first fic based on a book for a long time.

Sometimes she wondered if it was all just a dream. The veil, the wars, the magic; it was just a product of a lonely girl's overactive imagination, surely. Her life was so normal. The very idea of stepping through a yellow mist and emerging in another time and place, becoming a Warrior and fighting like a man was ludicrous. The thought of it made her laugh and shake her head at her childish notions.

Then he would step into the room. Then he would look into her eyes and she remembered. She remembered it all like it was yesterday. Mascen and the Combrogi, Arturus, the Battle of Baddon Hill, Aelfred and Rhonwen, Tailesin. Magic and fire and freedom and fighting. It would rush back into her consciousness so fast that she had to fight not to gasp out loud, and it was in remembering that she realised that it was too brutal, too bloody to be the fantasy of a sixteen year old girl.

It had been real.

Sometimes when he smiled at her it hit her like a bullet; just one flash and suddenly she saw him wielding Bright Killer and cutting men down as the Combrogi Bear Sark. Or he would touch her, run his fingers across the palm of her hand or along her arm, and she'd be right back there at Ethandun, helping him control the beast inside that begged to break free while he, in turn, helped to control her magic. They had been so many things to so many people, travelled to different worlds, seen and done things no child should ever have to experience.

But it was nights like this when she found it hard to forget. She had been Boar Skull, Lady Ursa, and the Goddess Freya. She had been a brother, a comrade-in-arms, a friend. She had fought men, killed men, and lead men into battle, and she had felt the full force of the earth's magic course through her veins.

But now, as his arms held her close and their bodies joined, she knew exactly who she was. Skin pressed against skin, so close that neither knew where one ended and the other began. Lips parted, barely touching, but sharing the very breath in their lungs with each other. Two heartbeats pounded between them, sweat teased along flesh as they watched, eyes wide open as if closing them would make it all disappear. Her blood sang with raw passion and love for him, her body trembled with the pleasure he created within her, and it made her wonder if she'd really let go of all the magic in that other world so very long ago.

She was a woman. She was a Warrior Goddess. She was a daughter, a lover, and one half of a whole.

She was just Ursula and he was just Dan.

But when they made love, it was timeless.

And she was everything.
