Authors Note: This is so much fluff. But it was fun to write. And it's my first Twilight story.

Vampire Love

Edward looked up from the concerto he had been playing for Bella, as well as his siblings. They were enjoying a quiet night at home while their parents went to the hospital charity dinner. His mind was suddenly assaulted by noise and anger like he had never felt before. His fingers were frozen on the ivory keys as if turned to white marble. Everyone turned to look at him, unsure of what was going on.

Bella was the only one to speak. "Edward?" She crossed to where he sat on the piano bench. She placed a hand on his shoulder. "What's wrong?" Concern shown her eyes and filled her voice.

Edward didn't have to answer. They all got their answer as the front door was flung open and the loud entry invaded the silence. "It's too much!" Esme's normally soft, sweet voice was filled with anger and jealousy. "I am not the kind of woman who can sit by and watch them fall all over you while you sit and do nothing."

The couple entered the living room, oblivious to the audience they had. The children were all too stunned to move or speak. Esme, dressed to kill in her slender strapped blue evening gown, her Carmel hair pulled up, strands of curls framed her face; stopped in the middle of the room, her beautiful face contorted in anger and pain. Carlisle stood a few feet behind her, facing her back. His classic suit of black was a handsome contrast to his pale skin and blonde hair. His eyes flashed with confusion and irritation.

"I think you are overstating the case." Carlisle tried to temper her mood by keeping himself calm but firm.

Esme turned, looking into her husbands blue eyes. "Don't even begin to think I am overreacting." She narrowed her eyes at him. "She had her hands all over you on the dance floor."

"Esme, it was only a dance…" He tried to counter.

"Only a dance?" Her anger was rising. "You didn't even try to stop her."

"Stop her from what?" Carlisle looked genuinely confused. "There was nothing to stop." He ran a hand through his perfect hair. "Esme…"

Edward felt the brunt of the thoughts going through his mothers mind. He couldn't believe that she would think anything like that. She had to know that she was all Carlisle had ever needed or wanted. Edward wanted to say something, he just didn't know how.

"Maybe you made a mistake that night in the morgue." She looked at him with fear in her eyes. "I guess you should have let me die."

The words held heavy in the air. Carlisles face changed to a look of pain. "How could you…" in an instant his lips were on Esme's, his arms around her. She returned the kiss, but kept her arms to her sides. And when he pulled back from the kiss, her hand stuck his face.

Carlisles eyes flashed and before anyone could stop him, he had her pinned to the wall, shaking. "Never." His voice shook with unspoken emotion. "I have only given my love, passion and desire to one woman." His face was inches from hers. "You, Esme Anne Cullen."

Esme could see in his eyes, the love and passion he had always felt for her. Her heart melted, her resolve left her and the worry was gone. Unable to wrap her arms around him, she brought her lips to his in a passionate kiss. "Carlisle." She murmured against his hungry lips.

Carlisle let go of her and wrapped his arms around her and she slipped her arms around her husbands neck. "Esme," he breathed. In an instant he had her in his arms and was taking her to their bedroom.

After the door closed with a bang, Bella looked from Edward to Alice. "What was that?"

Everyone smiled and Alice grinned at her. "Vampire love."
