10 years. A decade of a couple being together can either feel like a lifetime or a blink of an eye. When Gabriella and Troy met that day in the diner neither of them could have predicted the life they were about to create together. Through plenty of ups and downs they persevered through it all. In sickness, marriage, death, hope and birth they have conquered it all together.
Living in a world were couples breakup like the sun rises and sets, Troy and Gabriella treat every anniversary like the first one. No matter how busy they get with work, kids, family and life in general they always make sure to set aside the night of their anniversary just for them.
A few months after Luca was born Troy and Gabriella left their tiny apartment and moved into a three bedroom split level house that was perfect for starting a family. With the two of them still trying to find their footing in their careers at the time, it's the perfect house for their family. They are comfortable there and even though their family has grown in the seven years since they moved, they couldn't picture themselves anywhere else.
The morning of their anniversary, Troy was getting their two sons Luca and Aiden ready for school while Gabriella was getting ready for work. Luca, now seven years old, was in the first grade and was just as bright as his mother. He loved school and his teacher told Troy and Gabriella that he is one of the brightest in the class. Luca, however, is the quieter one of the two Bolton boys. Aiden, five years old, goes to morning preschool and he is much more rambunctious than his older brother.
"Dad, don't forget to get me at the bus stop this afternoon." Luca reminded his dad as he put his backpack on by the front door.
"I'm not going to forget you bud." Troy said to him as he handed him his lunchbox.
"You forgot yesterday." Luca reminded him yet again.
"I didn't forget. I got stuck at work. There is a difference." Troy explained to him for the 20th time. Troy had to explain this to him many times last night but Luca was not letting up.
"DAD! Where is my snack!?" Aiden exclaimed as he was hanging on the doorknob. Troy sighed and then ran into the kitchen to grab the other lunch box that he forgot. Troy rushed back out and handed his youngest son his lunch box.
"Aiden, make sure everything is together because as soon as Luca's bus gets here we are rolling!" Troy told him as he rush around the living room grabbing his bag and keys for work.
High heels began to echo through the foyer as Gabriella Bolton walked downstairs. She had a big bag pulled over her shoulder and she was putting her earrings in.
"Hi mommy." Aiden smiled at the sight of his mother.
"Hi baby, you ready for daddy to take you to school?" She asked giving him a small kiss once she reached the bottom of the stairs.
"Yeah!" He jumped for joy making Gabriella laugh.
Gabriella then gave a small kiss to her oldest son and then knelt to his eye level. "I promise you, your father will not forget you today. He will be here for you after school."
"I didn't forget about him!" Troy defended himself yet again. Gabriella gave a small laugh and then a kiss to her husband.
"Oh honey, calm down. I'm just bustin' on you!"
"It's not funny! I feel horrible." Troy explained to his wife.
"But it is funny daddy!" Aiden exclaimed with a big belly laugh.
As Aiden's laugh continued, the screeching of the school bus entered the foyer and with that sound the front door swung open and Luca ran out.
"Bye buddy! Have a good day! I love you!" Gabriella shouted out to her son.
Luca didn't even turn around, but rather gave a quick wave as he continued to run. They watched him board the bus and drive away.
"Alright one down, one to go!" Troy announced as he pulled his gym bag full of his work clothes over his shoulder. He then scooped up Aiden into his arms and then grabbed his keys. "School time!"
"No school!" Aiden chanted.
"Yes school. Say goodbye to mommy." Troy told his son.
Aiden leaned over in his fathers arms and placed a big kiss on Gabriella's lips. "Bye mommy."
Gabriella giggled and then grabbed her son's nose. "Bye baby. Make me some good artwork today...okay." She said as she gave her son a small tickle.
"Okay." He giggled.
Troy smiled watching his wife and his son interact together. He then smiled toward his wife and gave her another kiss.
"Have a good day at work." He told her and then placed another kiss on her lips. "And I will see you tonight!"
"Still no hints on whats going to happen huh?" She asked curious of her husbands plans for their 10 year anniversary dinner.
"Nope. My lips are sealed babe." Troy told her.
"Alright," Gabriella said putting her hands up. "I won't ask anymore questions. Just don't forget my son today okay?"
"I didn't forget!" Troy exclaimed. "Stop saying that, he's already mad at me."
Gabriella kissed his cheek and then grabbed her bags for work. "Oh honey, he's not mad at you."
Troy opened the front door and him and Gabriella walked out together to the car. "Yes he is. I'm ruining his trust."
"You are being dramatic." Gabriella told him as she unlocked her car.
Troy walked to the backseat door and put Aiden into his car seat and strapped him in. "You did forget him daddy." Aiden told him with a small smile.
"Aiden, remember that talk we had about being a trouble maker?" Troy asked. Aiden nodded and flashed his father his devilish smile. Troy rolled his eyes knowing that his son would never understand. He closed the door and gave a small laugh to himself as he walked over to Gabriella's car.
She rolled the window down and smiled at the sight of her husband. "Survived another morning." She said to him as she turned the car on.
"Oh yes, a morning with the Bolton boys is always an adventurous one." Troy said to her with another small laugh.
"Alright, well, I'm off to work. And I will definitely be seeing you tonight." Gabriella said to him.
"Promise to wear something dirty?" Troy asked her leaning into the car raising his eyebrows.
"I think I might be able to find something." Gabriella led him on.
Troy bit his bottom lip and then gave his wife yet another kiss. "Have a good day." He whispered to her.
"You too babe!" She said to him.
Troy's hands tapped the bottom of the window and then walked back over to his car. Gabriella began to roll the window up when she heard her husband call back to her.
"Oh, and take care of our baby for me!" He called to her which only made his wife roll her eyes and shake her head.
"I'll see what I can do!" She called back to him and rolled up the window.
Driving home from work later that night Gabriella found it hard to stop smiling. She was living a life she never could have dreamed of. Ten years ago she was a struggling waitress in school who was trying to help take care of her ailing father. Now she is a wife, a mother, a career woman and her father is the healthiest he has been in years.
She began to smile at the thought of her two children and how much joy they have brought into her and Troy's life. Not everyday is easy raising two boys so close in age but she wouldn't have wanted it any other way. She began to smile even bigger at the thought of a third child being added to the Bolton brood. Gabriella placed a hand on her four-month old stomach and giggled. She was a little scared of the baby years seeing as though they haven't faced them in five years. Those early days of having a child are never easy but at this point her and Troy are old pros.
As Gabriella turned onto the street where they live, a memory involving the early days of Luca entered her mind. It's funny to think back to the days when a tiny baby crying seemed like the worst possible scenario. Luca always cried for no reason at all. At the time it was anything but funny, but Gabriella loved to think back and laugh about it now.
Gabriella couldn't help but laugh and shake her head at the thought of that. She turned the car off, grabbed her bags and headed inside. Once she entered the house she found a few candles lined through the foyer that led her into the kitchen.
"Troy?" She called from the foyer as she set her bags down and walked into the kitchen. There, she found her husband standing at the stove cooking.
Troy turned around once he heard her heels enter the kitchen and he flashed her his million dollar smile that makes Gabriella melt every time.
"Why hello my beautiful bride." He greeted walking over and placing a small kiss on her cheek.
"Hello my handsome man." She smiled. "May I ask what all of this is?"
Troy returned to the stove and turned the heat off. He picked the pot up and walked it over to the sink where pasta drained out.
"This," he started. "Is dinner."
Gabriella turned and found their small kitchenette table set for two complete with flowers and candles. She gushed at the sight of what her husband put together.
"And the Bolton boys?" She asked curious about where her husband dumped their children.
Troy opened the oven and pulled out the chicken parm that he prepared. He turned to his wife and smiled again.
"At my mothers. For the entire night." He explained to her.
"The entire night?" She asked walking over to him to see what he was doing. "You planning on getting lucky Mr. Bolton?"
"I mean I heard you put out so I was just making things a little easier for you." He joked. Gabriella playfully hit him on the back of his head. "Now please take a seat so I can finish preparing this lovely meal."
Gabriella walked over to the table set for two and waited until her husband brought over the food. He placed the chicken parm and pasta in front of her and then put his plate down. He then went over to the light switch and dimmed the lights. Gabriella smiled over to her husband.
"Smooth move man," She joked. Then, soft jazz music entered the room which made Gabriella immediately relax. "Oh wow. You are really pulling out all the stops."
Troy came up behind her chair and placed a small kiss on her cheek. "Only the best for my girl." He said. "Oh, and for a drink I have the oh so delicious sparkling apple cider because, you know, someone can't drink."
"I can't drink because someone, you know, put a baby in me." Gabriella explained to him with a small smile.
"How rude of him!" Troy continued to play along as he pour her a glass of the bubbly drink.
Once both glasses were poured Troy took his seat and raised his glass with his wife. "A toast," he began. "To ten years together, seven years of marriage, two kids and one on the way."
Gabriella smiled. "And to the next ten years!"
The two clinked glasses and then immediately dug into their food.
"Honey, this is delicious." Gabriella told him after her first bite. "How did you have time to do all of this today?"
"Well, lets see." Troy started. "I took Aiden to school, went to the hospital, did two surgeries, postponed one and gave the rest of my small work to the interns."
"Look at you Mr. Attending." Gabriella scoffed.
"How was your day?" Troy asked taking a small bite of his food.
"Oh you know, quick day in court. Nothing that was too crazy. I left all of my crazy cases till next week." Gabriella explained taking a small sip of her sparkling cider.
"I don't want you to be too stressed out." Troy told her. "You know, considering..."
Gabriella stopped and then pointed to her stomach. "Right, the tiny human I'm growing. Completely forgot all about that." She joked.
"I'm just saying, this is the third time around. I just want you to be full term and healthy." Troy explained to her.
"So do I! Don't worry. Things will be fine. I have everything under control." She assured him with a small smile.
Troy smiled and decided that this was not the moment to get into Gabriella's health. This was the night of celebration for everything they have accomplished together in the past ten years.
"So you know, when I was cooking tonight, I couldn't help but think about some of the best memories of the past ten years." He stated.
Gabriella giggled and then wiped her mouth gently. "You know, I was thinking the same thing on the way home!"
"What were you thinking about?" Troy asked reaching across the table to take her hand.
Gabriella placed her hand in his and then began to tell her memory. "I was thinking about how the time this baby comes we will be old pros at everything. Then I was thinking back to our rookie days to when Luca was a few months old and we couldn't get him to sleep. Specifically the time it was 3 A.M. and the two of us were singing and dancing around the room as he screamed his head off."
They both laughed together. "Its crazy. Luca is now so quiet and reserved now but he was the loudest baby." Troy said.
"He was so bad. He was always crying." Gabriella remembered.
"But not Aiden."
"Oh no, but Aiden has his own issues." Gabriella laughed.
"He is just rowdy. What is wrong with that?" Troy asked.
"I honestly think it is correlated to the way he was conceived." Gabriella stated.
"Ah yes, the biggest controversy of the decade!" Troy announced.
Gabriella simply rolled her eyes. "Honey, he was conceived during the most outrageous wedding of the century and we were acting like teenagers the entire night."
Sharpay and Chad and an undeniable rocky romance. After years of begin together, breaking up and then finally being together for good they decided to tie the knot. After being engaged for almost three years they both threw a wedding that outshined everyone else's wedding that year. It was held at a beautiful country club in Albuquerque where they had well over 250 guests. Sharpay wore a huge white wedding dress that made her look like a cupcake, while Chad wore a simple black and white tux complete with a pink flower pinned on the suite jacket. Sharpay was a bridezilla up until that day, but the day of the wedding she was nothing but a mushy crying mess.
Gabriella served as the maid of honor and Troy was the best man. Both had duties that they had to perform for the ceremony, but after the ceremony they both had plans that neither of them were about to give up-getting absolutely hammered.
Luca had just turned two and this was the first night Troy and Gabriella had out to themselves in almost two years. Sure they were able to have date night here and there but they always felt guilty for leaving him for a long amount of time. This time, however, Troy and Gabriella planned out the entire night. Troy got them a hotel room that was down the street from the country club so they could have a much needed night completely away from the baby and out of the house.
After the couple said, "I do" during an outside ceremony, the guests were whisked away to the banquet hall while the new bride and groom had a moment to themselves.
"Well, we did it." Gabriella said as she took her husband's hand walking into the banquet hall. "We finally got those two crazy kids married."
"And everyone came out of it alive." Troy said proudly.
"I'll admit, there were moments where I thought I was going to have to quit being maid of honor." Gabriella confessed as the two made their way to the bar.
"Like when she told you she wanted bubblegum pink for a bridesmaids dress, and she wanted the dress to have the puffy sleeves?" Troy asked her.
"Lets just not speak of it okay?" She asked with a small smile. The bar tender approached them and Gabriella was quick to not let anymore time go by. "Can I have one cranberry vodka and one whiskey sour please? Thank you."
Troy couldn't help but laugh at how quick his wife ordered those drinks.
"Dont laugh at me." Gabriella said to him. "Our plan is to get drunk at this open bar and have a fabulous night just the two of us. No bed time stories, no bottles, no crying, no being too exhausted for one another. Just us." She said playing with his tie.
"Cut the crap." Troy joked. "You just want to get drunk so you don't have to deal with looking like little bo peep in this bridesmaids dress." He said tugging at the dress a little.
"Hey, I got out of the puffy sleeves, but yes I still look ridiculous and I hate her for it." Gabriella responded turning away and taking their drinks from the bar.
"See Chad is easy. There were no problems with him." Troy said as Gabriella handed him his drink.
"Remember when we talked about gloating and how it was wrong?" Gabriella smiled.
Troy laughed and then raised his glass a little and motioned for Gabriella to do the same. "Here is to all of this being over and me getting you out of that dress."
"Oh I will drink to that!"
The two glasses clinked together and that was the start of a ridiculous night.
The rest of the night was spent dancing, catching up with old friends, drinking, more dancing, both Troy and Gabriella giving speeches and then it was time for them to leave.
The Bolton's were still on the dance floor when Troy grabbed his wife and pulled her aside. "You ready to leave?" He asked her.
"Honey, its still early and..."
"Remember that talk we had about me getting you out of this dress?" Troy whispered to her.
Gabriella couldn't help but smile. "Meet me out front in five minutes." She commanded and the two split.
Gabriella quickly pushed through the crowd and quickly found Sharpay and Chad.
"You guys, Troy and I are heading out!" She told them.
Sharpay continued to dance as she talked to her best friend. "But honey its still so early yet! Stay for one more drink!"
"Sweetie I am so tired and I've already had plenty to drink." Gabriella explained to her. "But you guys keep dancing okay and call me tomorrow on your way to the airport." Gabriella gave Sharpay and Chad a kiss on the cheek. "I love you!"
Before they could say another word Gabriella was already halfway out of the reception all. By the time she got out front her husband already had a car waiting for them.
"Your chariot my lady," Troy motioned as he opened the cab door for his wife.
On the way to the hotel Gabriella called Sarah and Brady who were watching Luca for the night. Everything was completely fine and Sarah assured them not to worry and to go out and have a wonderful night. Troy and Gabriella barely even argued with that. The cab pulled up to the hotel and the two quickly grabbed their bags and stepped out. Within ten minutes they were checked in and in their hotel room. They immediately dropped their bags and got to business.
Troy's lips crashed onto his wifes as he walked her back to the king size bed. He gently laid her down and began running his hands up her dress. Gabriella helped him lift the long dress up and once she did he gained access to her underwear. His hand slipped down to the front of her underwear and he began to stroke his wife softly. Soft moans escaped from her mouth as she felt her husband touch her. Troy's lips left hers and he slowly kiss his way down her neck, around her collarbone, and then her chest.
"Get this thing off of me." Gabriella breathed as she slowly sat up in the bed. Troy took the seam of the dress and quickly unzipped it. Gabriella wiggled her way out and Troy took the empty dress and threw it on the floor. Gabriella was now just left wearing her underwear.
"These have to go." Her husband told her has he quickly pulled down her underwear now leaving her completely naked. Troy's hands rested on Gabriella's kneecaps and he gently opened her legs to him. She watched as he lowered himself onto her and as soon as she felt his lips, her head immediately rolled.
Troy continued to pleasure his wife. Her fingers roughly ran through his hair as her back arched. She loved the way her husband made her feel, he knew exactly what she loved and exactly where to go. She felt his tongue move faster as her body began to shake. Her eyes flew open at the sensation of fingers entering her and she felt herself about to peek. Her breaths began to quicken and her moans began to escape as Troy drove her deeper and deeper.
"Oh my god honey," She purred as her back arched and her mouth became agape. "Don't stop."
Troy's hand reached up and grabbed her breast causing her to moan out again. Finally, Gabriella could not longer take it. Troy quicken his pace and Gabriella no longer had control over her body. Her legs closed over his head and she rolled to her right crying out for him. Her hands held the back of his head as a reflex to leave him right where he was. Her back arched and the only reaction she had was to moan out loudly.
"Oh, oh, oh baby," She moaned as she felt herself beginning to climax. Finally Gabriella let go and let the indescribable sensation take over her. She laid on the bed breathless as Troy stood up and began to remove his clothes. Gabriella watching longingly as he removed his button up shirt, his belt, his pants and finally his underwear. She saw his erection and slowly sat up. Her hand closed over top of it causing her husband to moan out softly. Gabriella laid back down on the bed and her husband laid down on top of her.
A shiver went down her spine as her husband entered her. Gabriella's hands ran up and down his back, over his shoulders and down his forearms. She loved the way this man made her feel. Every time with him felt like the first time and she would never trade that for the world.
"You okay baby," He asked as he kissed her neck softly.
"Just make love to me." She answered back.
Troy's thrusts became long and slow and each time Gabriella moaned out for him. Troy kissed every inch of his wife. Her neck, her breast, her stomach. She was beautiful. Their eyes connected and it was then that Troy knew he was not going to last much longer. This woman drove him crazy and he was not about to last as long as he should.
He pace quickened, but Gabriella stopped him. She motioned for him to roll over and now it was her turn to take charge. Gabriella began to ride her husband making his eyes roll back into his head. Gabriella smiled knowing she was giving her husband that kind of satisfaction. Gabriella began to quicken her pace, but then as soon as she was really going, Troy grabbed her and laid her back down on her back. Troy's pace quickened as he continued to pump his wife and then finally he let go. He collapsed on top of Gabriella and she couldn't help but laugh.
"Mr. Bolton," she started off. "What amazing stamina you have."
The two burst out in a belly laugh and then Troy leaned over and kissed his wife once again.
"Mrs. Bolton, it's all because of you."
"And then nine months later out came Aiden." Troy announced causing them both to laugh again.
"That was an amazing night though."
Troy lifted Gabriella's hand and kissed it softly. "It was."
"And if you remember correctly Aiden did make quite the entrance into the world." Gabriella remembered causing Troy to sigh.
"This story again?"
"Honey, come on-its a little funny." Gabriella said to him with a sly smile.
Gabriella knew that she wanted her second birth to be completely different from her first. When Luca was born there was too much stress, it was frightening and Gabriella did not like it at all. This time, she wanted her birth to go smooth. She wanted it to be a calm atmosphere.
When her contractions started a few days after her due date she knew that she wanted to wait as long as possible to get to the hospital. When she was pregnant with Aiden she was not considered high risk pregnancy. Rather, Gabriella was the healthiest she had ever been when she was pregnant with her second.
When her water broke she was home by herself still gearing up for her second son to enter the world. Luca was being watched by her parents for the day and Troy quickly stepped out to grab them some lunch. Gabriella had been reading up on different things to do to help be more relaxed and calm during labor, so she drew herself a bath and stayed calm knowing that as soon as her husband got home things were going to be different.
She slowly entered the warm tub and began to breathe slowly in and out through her nose. Her hands rested on her growing belly as she drew tiny circles around it. She was calm-for the time being.
"Gab!" She heard her husband call her name from downstairs. "I got the wrap that you like!"
She then heard his footsteps start up the stairs and then enter their bedroom. "In here." She called helping him find his way. When he walked in he knew exactly what had happened because this is what they had talked about.
"When did your water break?" He asked frantically taking off his jacket and throwing it on the floor. He went over and sat on the top of the toilet seat and took his wife's hand.
"Soon after you left." She told him. "But I'm fine. I just want to be relaxed."
"I know you do. But as soon as they are five minutes apart we are going to the hospital." Troy informed her.
"Shhhh," Gabriella told him.
Troy sighed and continued to sit by the tub with his wife. Troy couldn't get in the same mindset as Gabriella. He was a doctor. He was always picturing worst case scenarios. He couldn't picture a nice calm birth. All he could picture were the many things that could possibly go wrong. Gabriella had been driving Troy nuts this entire pregnancy. She brought up the idea of a home birth, an idea that Troy quickly vetoed. After seeing what happened during the first pregnancy and birth he was not about to gamble and change any plans. He wanted his wife to give birth at a hospital just like everyone else. They both finally came to an agreement of laboring at home and only going to the hospital once the contractions were five minutes apart. Troy still wasn't crazy about the idea because he wanted his wife safe, but in the end he knew she would always win.
"Should I call Maria and George and let them know whats going on?" Troy offered. What he was really doing was attempting to make sure everything was in place before things got crazy.
Gabriella shook her head. "No. Don't call them yet. Don't call anyone. Mom and Dad are supposed to have him the entire day anyway. We can call them when we are on our way to the hospital."
Troy sighed and decided to just follow along with his wife directions. "Alright." He took her hand in his and kissed it softly. She opened her eyes and smiled over at him warmly.
"I know you aren't crazy about this idea, but thank you for letting me do it." Gabriella said to him.
"Well, this pregnancy was much smoother and easier than the first. Plus, I'm here and if anything happens I will know what to do." Troy explained to her as he ran his fingers through her hair.
"Doctor Bolton," she said. "Always taking care of me."
Troy leaned over and gave his wife a soft and tender kiss. Gabriella then relaxed back in the hot bath tub as Troy stayed by her side. Within a few minutes another contraction rolled through her body, but Gabriella remained calm. She squeezed Troy's hand and did the breathing exercises that were taught to her. As her labor progressed, however, things got a little more tricky.
Troy helped Gabriella switch her positions in the tub. She started on her back, then she went onto her side, and then she decided to try all fours. Troy was there to rub her back and give her words of encouragement, but Gabriella forgot just how painful contractions can be. Gabriella left the tub and Troy set her up in bed to try something different. Four hours later Gabriella's contractions were about six minutes apart. Troy was starting to see that his wife was beginning to struggle and he had seen enough of that.
"That's six minutes." Troy said holding onto Gabriella's hand while looking at his watch. He looked over at his wife who was now drenched in sweat and flushed from the heat. "We are going to the hospital."
"You agreed five minutes." Gabriella breathed.
"I know, but they are getting stronger and I do not want to take a chance on any of this." Troy tried to explain to her.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Who is about to push a giant baby out of her? That's right, me!" Gabriella growled towards him. "We will leave when they are five minutes apart. Comprende?"
Troy sighed and continued to agree with his wife. After all, she was right. Getting the contractions to be five minutes apart was an easy task. Within 15 minutes they were five minutes apart and Gabriella was beginning to wince from all the pain. Troy had to laugh that within 15 minutes Gabriella had changed her mind. She was now ready to go to the hospital.
Troy grabbed their bags while he put Gabriella in sweatpants and a t shirt. They quickly made their way to the car where Gabriella was battling out another contraction. Troy quickly called George, Maria and his mother and told them what was going on. They were five minutes away from the hospital when Gabriella was starting to break down.
"Honey, this baby is coming right now." She breathed. Her eyes clenched shut and her hands were now grabbing her stomach.
"We are almost there baby, just keep breathing okay?" Troy coached her as he pushed the sweat pouring off her face.
When they pulled up to the front entrance of the hospital, Gabriella's contractions were now two minutes apart. Within the 10 minutes that it took to get to the hospital her labor progressed extremely quick.
Gabriella was close to screaming in pain by the time she was wheeled into her labor room. Troy quickly put her on the bed as Sloan, who delivered Luca, rushed into the room.
"Sloan, I need to push right now." Gabriella frantically told her.
"What happened to being calm?" Troy tried to joke with her.
"Who was I kidding!? I can't be calm!" Gabriella thrust. She clutched Troy's hand and her eyes started to well up. "Troy, it hurts so much!"
Troy kissed her on her forehead and then got down to her eye level. "We are old pros at this okay? You are going to be fine!" He reassured her.
Gabriella was now in searing pain laying on the labor bed. She realized that her laboring at home plan just may have pushed a little too far. Now there was no turning back and she was about to do this all natural while still wearing the clothes she came to the hospital in. Within seconds Gabriella was stripped of her sweatpants and tshirt and a white blanket was placed over her stomach and chest. Gabriella didn't even notice what was happening around her. Her head was starting to cloud from all the pain she was enduring at that moment.
"Alright Gab, just like with Luca, okay? Bear straight down when you feel a contraction and go all the way to 10 okay?" Sloan commanded.
Gabriella didn't even nod, she just did exactly what she was told. Her face clenched up and her whole body now looked beat red. She pushed down and yelled feeling every movement that her baby was making. Troy counted to ten with each push she made. Within two pushes the baby's head was already out.
Gabriella looked straight down and began to cry as she saw the top of her baby's head. She tried her best not to scream bloody murder as her baby pushed through the ring of fire and she did her best not to burst into tears as she pushed his shoulders out. Troy could no longer feel his hand or his arm that his wife was holding during that moment but it didn't matter. Within fifteen minutes of arriving to the hospital, their baby was in their arms.
An exhausted Gabriella held her baby in her arms and all she could do was laugh. She looked down at her son admiringly and still continued to laugh.
"So that plan was..." Gabriella trailed off and decided to let her husband finish.
"A bad one?" Troy finished still unable to comprehend their crazy afternoon. "Nah, it was an okay plan."
Gabriella kissed the top of her baby's head and then turned to her husband who gave her another kiss. "It was the perfect plan."
The two laughed again talking about the birth of their second son. "It's not funny that you almost gave me a heart attack."
"Hey, we don't joke about heart attacks in this family!" Gabriella scolded him taking a sip of her drink.
"Sorry," Troy apologized. "But still, that was quite the roller coaster."
"This whole thing is a roller coaster." Gabriella said smiling toward her husband.
"Such is life kid." He said to his wife.
The two finished dinner sharing other memories from their past ten years. Some of the favorites included a couples retreat that Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Chad, Brady and Sara went on with the kids just last year where the women left the boys with the kids and they came back to find the hotel room turned into a huge fort. Another was a few memorable date nights they shared together, the kids first steps, first words and everything else in between.
Once they finished dinner they moved into the living room where they both took a seat on the couch. Gabriella comfortably laid against her husband as he put his feet up on the coffee table. He placed a small kiss on her head and Gabriella slowly closed her eyes.
"You hear that?" She asked him.
"Its silence." He whispered back to her.
"It sounds beautiful." Gabriella said to him.
"I forgot what it sounds like." Troy laughed. "With two rowdy boys I forget what its like to have a quiet house."
"And we are adding one more to the craziness." Gabriella said placing her arms across her stomach.
Troy kissed her head again. "You know, there is one memory that is one of my absolute favorites that we didn't bring up." He said to her.
"And which one is that?"
Gabriella lined all the pregnancy tests in a row on the bathroom sink. Positive. After months of failed attempts and months of failed pregnancy tests she finally had positive ones. It finally happened.
Troy and Gabriella decided that after having Aiden they were going to wait to have another baby. It was an idea that they put on the back burner until a few months ago when Aiden turned five. They decided that they were ready to have another baby but things did not happen so quickly. Gabriella struggled to get pregnant with Luca, Aiden was a breeze but this one was a struggle.
Gabriella began to jump around the bathroom with glee at all the positive tests. She took a lot more than one just to make sure that it was in fact positive. She waited until Troy was putting the boys to bed to take them. Troy had no idea she was doing this and now that they all came out positive she could not wait to tell him.
Gabriella decided to leave all the pregnancy tests on the counter and turn the bathroom light off. She walked over to her bed and opened her book to act extremely nonchalant. Fifteen minutes later Troy entered their room with a small.
"It only took three books to knock them out tonight." He proudly stated as he walked over to their bed.
"That must be a new record." Gabriella smiled looking up from her book.
"Oh it is," He stated. "Just call me the night-time master." Troy bowed playfully making his with burst with laughter.
Gabriella closed her book as Troy was getting into bed. She quickly turned and stopped him.
"Honey, I think I left my lotion on the counter. Could you get it for me?" She asked.
"Yeah babe." Troy got out of bed and walked into the bathroom and turned the bathroom light on. Gabriella sat in her bed watching as her husband walked in and then suddenly stalled. She watched as he stood there for a few seconds to look at what was in front of him. When her husband turned around Gabriella was already starting to cry.
"All of them? Positive?" Troy asked in disbelief as he held up one test to look at it closely. He looked up at his wife who was nodding quickly. Troy dropped the test and rushed out of the bathroom and jumped onto the bed with his wife. He kissed her passionately and then broke their kiss. "I knew we could do it!" He exclaimed.
"Good job daddy!" Gabriella giggled and then her husband smothered her with kisses again.
Troy's hand glided over her flat stomach but then he lifted up her soft shirt and leaned down and kissed her stomach softly. "Another baby." He whispered.
"Another crazy Bolton to add to the broad!" Gabriella announced.
Troy moved up and kissed her again. "God, I love you."
"I love you too!"
Troy continued to smile thinking back to that moment just three months ago. "That was a great moment."
"I was going to wait to tell you, but I was just too excited." Gabriella explained.
Troy's hand rested on Gabriella's growing stomach and he began to stroke it softly with his thumb. "Hopefully this little girl won't be as crazy as the boys."
Gabriella smiled blissfully. "A little girl. Its about time we get some estrogen in this house!"
"How do you think the boys are going to be with her?" Troy asked his wife still stroking her stomach.
"Protective. They better be at least!" Gabriella laughed. She looked up and gave her husband yet another kiss. Her hand then covered his and her eyes widened as she felt their baby kick a little. "Did you feel that?" She asked her husband excitedly.
"Yeah."
"Baby must have like the chicken parm!"
"I do make a mean chicken parm!" He applauded himself.
Gabriella stopped and took a minute to look at her handsome husband. This evening was nothing over the top or extravagant. It was low-key and just them which is all Gabriella ever wanted.
"What?" Troy asked her curious as to what was on her mind.
"I'm just thinking about how lucky I am. And how happy I am to be having your child, again! We have an amazing life you and me." Gabriella explained to him.
"I wouldn't have wanted to create it with anyone else." Troy whispered to her as he gave her another kiss.
Gabriella deepened the kiss and pushed her body against his. Gabriella pulled back from the kiss and smiled at her husband. "Say Mr. Bolton. You want to move this party upstairs?"
"You don't have to tell me twice." He said to her standing up off the couch. He helped Gabriella up and then scooped her into his arms causing her to go into a fit of laughter. "Don't worry Mrs. Bolton. I always got you."
An ending five years in the making! Thank you to everyone who followed this story and supported it all these years. I hope you enjoyed the journey as much as I did!
So much love,
