"You have a kind heart, Arthur. Don't ever change, not for anyone."

The moment that those words left Guinevere's lips, Arthur couldn't help the small boyish smile that crept up on his lips. Guinevere never ceases to surprise him. Just as he was about to sulk over the words that his father had said to him, Guinevere gave him a reason to smile. She assured him that his judgment was fair. His judgment was right.

He couldn't promise her not to change, of course. He already changed – no, he was changing. Ever since that night in her house, he was changing. Ever since she pointed out his every flaw, he changed. He became more compassionate, more understanding of his people. He became mindful of his actions. And he wanted Guinevere to see that. He wanted Guinevere to see that he was slowly becoming the person, the ruler, she wanted him to be. Because her opinion, it seemed, mattered to him.

That was not the only impact Guinevere had in his life. Arthur had always believed that he was not the best person he could be. He sometimes doubted his capabilities to be king. But every time he doubted, Guinevere proved him wrong. She made him believe that he will be a great ruler. She made him believe that he was a good man. Even after she told him of every mistake he committed, she made it seem that he could still correct those mistakes. She made him believe that he will make the right judgments when he was king. That he will be the king that everyone will love.

Guinevere was his redemption.

And one day, he will make sure that she will be by his side to see to it that he will become the man she saw him to be.
