Operation: Konoha Crush was not only meant to destroy Konohagakure itself, but to also straighten Otogakure. Orochimaru's plans didn't just include killing Hiruzen, but stealing the village's secrets, and recruiting shinobi that held no love for Konoha.

That was the reason the Snake Sannin sent two dozen of his best shinobi to ransack the Anbu Headquarters. The orders were simple, kill all those who wore the Leaf headband, recruit the rest. Orochimaru knew that the prisoners kept under lock and key weren't natives to Fire Country, they were poor souls from other villages who were unlucky enough to get caught and brought to Ibiki.

One would think that recruiting shinobi from other villages would be dangerous. And indeed it was, but these prisoners held absolutely no love for Konoha, and they really didn't have a choice. It was join them or die, the choice honestly should have been obvious. After liberating the prisoners from the Anbu Headquarters they were to head to Konoha's Strict Correctional Facility, they could always use more manpower from the killers within.

Cutting the throat of an already wounded Anbu operative, Shoto felt the lifeblood splatter onto his balaclava and grey uniform and relished it as the body fell limply onto the floor. "I think that is the last of them in this area." He said to his comrades.

"I think so Captain," Said another by the same of Tenu. Kneeling next to a butchered body, he pilfered through it. "Lets see, do you have any keys on you?"

"Hey Kuro, do we have any casualties?" Shoto demanded another subordinate.

"We lost six of our guys, I got three more who are wounded." Kuro said, running glowing green hands over the chest area of one of the casualties. "I think we can evacuate them to an extraction point before we hit our next objective."

"Not until we get what we came for. Tenu what is taking so long!?" Shoto demanded.

"Hold on a minute, we weren't exactly getting answers when we were killing these guys!" Tenu barked at his Captain over the growing noise. "And all of you shut the hell up! I'm working on it!"

"Hurry up, I've been stuck in this hellhole for two months!"

"Oh whoopee-fucking-doo, I've been here for over a year you rock eating cunt!"

"Eat my shit you mist snorting bastard!"

"Bwahaha! This is the best entertainment I've seen in weeks!" Another prisoner exclaimed, his voice cackling with insanity. "The bloodshed...oh I can hear their hearts pumping. Badump...badump...badump...flat-line. Mmm I wonder if there are any women in the mix."

Shoto shuddered from the talk of the obvious psychopath, Orochimaru would probably use him for some experiment to either make him sane, or some rabid Curse Seal attack dog. "Tenu, when you get the keys make sure all of them get to the extraction point. Orochimaru-sama will be pleased."

"Hey friend, you said you were busting us out?" A prisoner leaned against the bars and flashed some remarkably sharp teeth. Huh, he must have been from Water Country. "Well, I got a little something of interest for you. I've seen these Leaf bastards going down that hallway with a few shinobi of interest. Two actually had your uniform."

"Is that so?" Shoto looked towards the area he was pointing at. "Are you sure they looked like us?"

"Those camo scarfs are a little hard to miss buddy. Trust me, those kids are yours. I don't know about the other two, one's a redheaded gal and is something special apparently, and the other was completely strapped to some sort of table, but he has to be dangerous." The prisoner smirked. "I'll take the highest position your boss can grant me."

"I'll see what Orochimaru-sama can do. Tenu, release everyone when you get the keys and gather the wounded, Kuro gather up the rest of the men. We leave in five minutes."

Captain Shoto and thirteen of his shinobi immediately made their way to the hospital ward, he mentally marked it as the morgue because if his hunch was correct he was going to kill everyone, including those two traitors in it. There was a door blocking their way, but a kunai with an exploding tag thrown at it rendered it to useless scrap metal.

On the inside were three Anbu shinobi with their swords drawn, why they didn't come to defend their comrades were completely beyond Shoto, but it wouldn't matter when they were corpses. But behind them he saw the two traitors. Zaku Abumi and Kin Tsuchi were sitting on their bed, the former had his arms chained to the bed frame and the palms of his hands sealed, the latter was in the corner of the room looking like a terrified rabbit.

There was also that red-haired girl with glasses, she was also out of her bed and looking at them terrified. He would also notice that she had a lot of bite marks on her body that was eyebrow raising. Then of course there was one more bed with the shades closed, and was playing the tv in it remarkably loud. Ugh, it was one of those old campy tv shows, Shoto vowed to kill whoever it was on principal for that.

"Listen...I can explain." Zaku tried to explain that he never talked, he was here against his will. That he was still loyal to Orochimaru.

That did not come to be. One of Shoto's subordinates, Tategami he believed it was opened his mouth. "We don't want to hear it, Orochimaru-sama had ordered us to bring in fresh shinobi, and kill those who are enemies. And guess what, the only one here I see that will come with us alive is the red-haired chick."

"Like hell I will come with you!" Karen exclaimed. "I know about Orochimaru, and I will never join him. Not even if my life depends on it!"

"You don't have a choice." Tategami snarled beneath his mask. He then eyed Kin in a predatory manner. "Captain Shoto, lets deal with this rubbish now."

"Agreed, but first will someone kill that bastard watching tv?"

"I wouldn't do that if I was you." An Anbu member in a gorilla mask said.

"Yea, he really doesn't like it when his tv time is cut off." A second in a raven mask said.

"You'll be sorry~" The third one in a hawk mask said in a sing son voice.

Tategami only scoffed, slowly breaking formation and a stolen sword in hand, he gripped the screen with his right hand. "A pussy who watches this garbage cannot be that tough. I'll make him scream like a bitch before killing hi-" His words died in his throat when a bone erupted through his mouth and exploded from the top of his head. Slowly sickeningly, it retracted and he lifelessly fell to the ground leaving a hole and blood smear on the curtain.

The screen then opened to see a very irate Kimimaro Kaguya with a sharp, recently bloody bone sticking out of the palm of his hand. He looked at the Sound shinobi, clad in nothing a hospital gown, "You're interrupting my show." He said as the theme song for the Brundy Bunch came on.

"K-k-Kimimaro!?" Shoto screamed in terror and confusion. He, and the men he brought with him had every right to be. Last they heard, Kimimaro was killed when Orochimaru infiltrated the Forest of Death along with Shiin. For him to be here was honestly something none of them expected.

"Yes?" The last Kaguya dully demanded.

"What are you doing here? Orochimaru-sama said you were dead."

"The news of my demise has been highly exaggerated..." Kimimaro put two and two together and narrowed his vivid green eyes at the group of Sound shinobi. "Oh, so the invasion has finally begun, hasn't it?"

"Yea, that's right!" One of the shinobi exclaimed. "Right now we're burning this place down as we speak. Orochimaru-sama will-" He was cut off when his head was separated from his body.

"How foolish of me, I was so wrapped up in my programs that I didn't hear all the commotion. Naruto-sama will be very cross with me." Ripping the bone from the palm of his hand, Kimimaro flicked the blood from it and leveled it at his ten remaining opponents. "So I will have to rectify my mistakes by eliminating all of you."

Before any one of them could retort, let alone put up a quick guard, Kimimaro struck like a cobra. His bone sword slipped through the neck of one Sound Jonin, retracted and pierced through his lungs and liver in quick succession. He then lunged at the nearest opponent and stabbed through the liver of his former comrade with enough force to drive him backwards and impale him to the wall opposite of him. Releasing his bone sword, Kimimaro's body cracked and contorted, sprouting long bones from the palms of his hands, shoulders, kneecaps, and elbows. "Dance of the Willow."

His shock immediately fading away, Shoto growled and immediately began forming hand seals. "Everyone attack now, he can't get all of us at once!"

Without making a sound, Kimimaro launched himself at them. Before they could even go through their third hand seal, he struck with deadly precision. Kicking out with his right knee, he impaled one opponent through the liver, twisting his hips he jammed his left elbow into the chest of another opponent, then lashed out with right arm to impale his right elbow bone into the throat of one more.

Forcing his chakra into his limbs, Kimimaro twisted his body to literally fling his impaled opponents off his bones. As they flew through the air, one struck against his fellow shinobi, cracking his body next to Zaku's bed with a sickening crunching noise. Landing on his feet, Kimimaro shoulder checked another Shinobi, piercing him through the heart, and one powerful palm thrust later that not only pierced through his kidneys, but also ended his suffering.

"He's...he's not human." One of the three remaining shinobi said. In less than a minute Kimimaro killed them without batting an eyelash. He took several steps back, and stumbled over one of the corpses. He couldn't stop shaking in terror.

"I'm completely human." Kimimaro said before stabbing his downed opponent without a shred of mercy. Slowly, he turned towards Shoto and his remaining comrade. "You're just weak."

"What do you want?" Shoto growled in fury.

"For you to die of course." Kimimaro disappeared from their line of sight for one second. And the next, he was behind them, and impaled them from the behind through the heart. The two Sound shinobi looked down at the bones protruding from their chests in horror, they tried to raise their hands to try and remove themselves. Instead they expired seconds later.

Retracting the bones back into his body, Kimimaro looked at the Anbu members. "I'm going outside to deal with the enemy. Protect those three weaklings."

"What! We're not weaklings, and we don't need any-" Zaku's words died in his throat when Kimimaro glared at him.

"You are weak Zaku, Orochimaru has no more use for pawns such as yourself and are to be eliminated. While I personally don't care if you perish, but Naruto-sama wants your entire team safe. So I will make sure that you live through this day. Do not try my patience, and do not try to stop me."

The three Anbu members looked at the shinobi who looked to be on deaths door not too long ago. Their orders were to guard the four of them, but with their numbers obviously depleted, and an invasion going on they needed to rely on the albino to fight.

"Don't stray too far, and if you start feeling odd get back here immediately." The hawk masked member demanded.

"Very well."

"Aren't you going to put on any pants?" The gorilla masked Anbu asked. From all those acrobatic movements Kimimaro did, there was a lot of exposure from the last Kaguya. Thank Kami he was at least wearing some white boxer shorts.

"No." Without another word, Kimimaro bolted out of the room. Within a minute he came across the small group of Sound shinobi and ten freed prisoners. Narrowing his eyes he raised his right hand, he parted his fingertips, creating holes that expose hardened finger bones. Swinging his hand he created a loud banging sound resembling a gunshot as the hardened bones were fired from his fingertips. "Digital Shrapnel!"

Tenu looked up from his position and watched as the bone bullets pierced through his forehead, and the back of his skull exploded outwards as brains and red bloody mist splattered the wall behind him. A prisoner took a bullet in the side, and it erupted through his kidney. Another prisoner took a third bullet through the liver and he fell to the ground screaming in agony. The remaining bone bullets struck the wall with a loud crack, and actually created large holes in it.

"We're not going back!" A musclebound shinobi, Kimimaro guessed he was from Earth Country clutched his liberated katana from one of the many deceased Anbu shinobi. He swung it with all this might, preparing to cleave Kimimaro in two.

The former leader of the Sound Five raised his forearms, bones erupting from them, took the strike head on. The katana shattered against bones that Orochimaru claimed were as hard as steel, and with a deadly gaze Kimimaro struck the surprised prisoner. Sharp bones erupted from the palms of his hands once more, and stuck the larger shinobi with several precise strikes that pierced his lungs, liver and heart.

Three other prisoners, armed with kunai were at his back. Even if he could turn around to block in time, he could only stop two of them while the third pierced his heart. To their sudden, and short surprise, sharp bones erupted from his back in a sickeningly display of torn flesh and muscle before it impaled all three of them. Kimimaro spun on his heel, flinging the dead prisoners off his back to sickeningly splat against the cell bars, applied chakra to the balls of his feet to run along the bloody wall and lashed out with his hands to impale another prisoner through both his eyes. Pushing off the wall the corpse crashed against the front of his jail cell.

Soundlessly falling to his feet, the blood of his enemies coating his body, Kimimaro glared at the remaining four prisoners. "I'm giving you all a choice. Get back into your cells or die."

The four prisoners who tasted the sweet air of freedom looked at the blood soaked shinobi, the pile of dead at his feet, and the three wounded Sound shinobi who were either blissfully unconscious, or trying to crawl away in terror. Kimimaro looked at them with only some consideration before looking at them again. "And put them in the empty cells. The former occupants don't need them anymore."

A remarkably nondescript prisoner, someone who was probably great with blending into the local populace dropped his kunai to the ground with a loud clatter. "Easy man, we give up." He said before backing into an open cell and closed it behind him.

"Yea, I'm done." Another grabbed the clothing of the injured Sound shinobi and dragged them into an open cell.

"Like hell! Freedom or death!" The remaining two prisoners tried to charge at the last Kaguya. But Kimimaro opened all ten of his fingertips, flicked his wrists and ten finger bullets flew at them. At such a close distance all ten bone bullets tore through them like wet paper. Was it overkill to use five bullets each for them? Perhaps. But did they deserve it for being stupid and choosing death? Yes, absolutely.

"As I live and breathe, a Kaguya. I thought we killed all of you." The sharp-toothed prisoner said from behind his jail cell with an amused look on his face. "And yet here you are."

Looking at the prisoner, Kimimaro didn't bat an eyelash. "Do I know you?"

"Not at all, but I know of your clan. I know how they invaded Kirigakure almost eight years ago, and how they were slaughtered down to the last person...or so I thought." He chuckled and pushed his arms through the bars of his cell. "Tell me Kaguya, how does it feel looking upon someone that killed your kin? I bet you just feel..." He breathed in deeply. "Furious, like you want to tear my throat out."

"I don't feel anything towards you." Kimimaro dully said. He never held a grudge against the shinobi of Kirigakure, his clan lost themselves in their bloodlust, their need to show off their battle-hungry savagery, and they paid for it with their lives. He survived and moved on with his life while they were buried and forgotten.

"Don't lie to me Kaguya, your blood is absolutely boiling for combat. The results speak for themselves."

"I don't care what you think of me, you're not important." Kimimaro began to walk towards the exit, past the cackling inmate. He looked over at the insane man, raised his right hand and formed it into a gun shape. A bone bullet flew from his extended index finger and impacted the insane prisoner right in the forehead. His cackling died as he fell onto his back.

"Oh, and why did you kill him...hmm?" The sharp-toothed prisoner lightly demanded.

"His laugh was annoying." Kimimaro plainly said before departing from the hallway full of bodies. There was an invasion to foil, and he really didn't want to disappoint the man who helped him see the light.

(Konohagakure – Meanwhile)

'I can't believe my rotten luck! How did my former village completely drop the ball on this!?' Aoi Rokusho frantically thought as he ran though the war-torn village.

When people started falling asleep in the stadium, and explosions rocked the village, the former Leaf instructor turned tail and ran when people began killing each other. He left his Genin team behind without a second thought either, if they became casualties that was too bad, it just showed that they were weak and Amegakure was better off without them. Right now he had to look out for number one, the rest could rot for all he cared.

Growing up in Konohagakure, Aoi knew the village just as much as any other shinobi who grew up there. He avoided the fighting by ducking in and out of alleyways, going through buildings that had been abandoned, he could still hear the fighting, and it was getting closer.

Just as he exited another house to run into another alley, a body filled with kunai fell in front of him. It was a Sand shinobi, she was dead as a door nail. It had to have been a Leaf shinobi that did her in.

"No matter, I'm much better than everyone here." Applying some chakra into his arm, Aoi pulled out one of his umbrellas from his back and threw it upwards. His hands going into the tiger seal, his smirk widened. "Ninja Art: Senbon Shower!"

Screams of dismay and pain filled his ears. Aoi had used this jutsu enough to know that with a little bit of his chakra, his umbrella would spin and release thousands of senbon needles into his enemies. Well, he didn't know where they were, so he used every single senbon needle to hit an area ranging at the maximum of four-hundred feet in a condensed area. When the jutsu ended, he walked out to see the carnage.

Six Leaf shinobi laid dead with hundreds of needled embedded in them. One looked like a Nara, another a member of the Sarutobi Clan, the rest he couldn't tell. He even took out three Sound shinobi nearby. That wasn't exactly his intention, but that didn't matter to him, he was going to escape.

"So long losers!" Aoi cackled before running past the dead bodies. He barely got past the bodies before he had to jump away from several kunai impacting near his feet, and the explosion that followed afterwards. "Alright, who's the dead man!?" He demanded.

"Dead man? That's funny coming from you."

Aoi's blood froze in his veins, slowly he turned his head towards the source of the voice to see the scowling, scarred face of Ibiki Morino and four members of the Anbu flanking his sides. "No...not you."

"Yes, me." Ibiki growled.

"Listen...listen! I know what you're thinking-"

"Yea, I've been thinking about it for a long time."

"But you can't. I got diplomatic immunity! You can't arrest a foreign shinobi in your village during the Chunin Exams!"

Cracking his knuckles, Ibiki glared at the former Leaf shinobi. "The finals ended when a bunch of scumbags invaded my home, now it's just war. And during war people get caught in the crossfire, and seeing how you just killed six of our shinobi you officially declared yourself an enemy." His grin became malicious. "And we need enemies to interrogate."

"Wait! Wait! Hold on!" Aoi held up his hands to try and hold them off. "I also killed those three Sound shinobi, that has to count for something. I mean...sure those six are also dead, but it was an accident."

"I don't see any dead Sound shinobi, do you Tenzo?" Ibiki asked on of the Anbu operatives.

"I'm afraid not, Tora, Inu, Raion?" Tenzo asked.

"We see nothing, know nothing." The three Anbu said in union.

"You heard them, all I see is a traitor that was stupid enough to come into my neck of the woods again, and murder my comrades." Ibiki cracked his knuckles. "Boys, don't interfere, I've been waiting for this for a very long time."

"Like you're going to have the chance!" Pulling out his second umbrella, Aoi tossed it into the air and put his hands into the tiger seal. "Ninja Art:-"

Ibiki threw a kunai at the rotating umbrella, he watched as the black steel impacted the weapon and detonated thanks to the exploding tag wrapped around the handle. It destroyed the umbrella, launching thousands of senbon in completely random directions. The sharp needles impacted the buildings, the dead bodies, Aoi actually took a needle in his right foot and a few other parts of his body.

Ibiki was however protected, his operative Tenzo enacted a wooden dome to stop the needles from reaching them. Jumping from behind the barrier, the scarred Special Jonin threw several shuriken at Aoi.

"You think that will beat me!?" Aoi demanded. Grabbing the purple hilt of the Rajin no Ken, the bright yellow blade emitted from the vajra-like crossguard with a snap-hiss. Cutting the senbon needle with the blade he pulled his foot off the weapon, and met his opponent with a powerful sword thrust that impaled the large Special Jonin through the chest as he landed.

"Now so tough now, are you Ibiki!?" The Rain Jonin laughed as electricity crackled off his opponent's deceased body. Except for seeing a body impaled on the Nidaime Hokage's sword, it just disappeared in a small cloud of smoke. "What the?"

"Shadow Clone." Ibiki's fist clocked Aoi's face from the right side. He felt the satisfaction of feeling his nose break under his gloved hand, another punch struck his jaw and three, bloody teeth hit the ground before a powerful kick to his spine took him off his feet and crashed through a building opposite of them.

"I'm not through with you yet." Ibiki slowly strolled towards the building, blood running down his glove. "Get up Aoi, get on your feet and fight me!"

Slowly, Aoi exited from the building. Blood freely fell from his mouth, the Raijin no Ken clutched rightly in his right hand. "You're getting off on this, aren't you Ibiki. Heh, I knew you were some sort of freak."

"Yea, I'm getting off on the son of a bitch who tortured me and murdered my little brother." Cracking his knuckles, the Special Jonin ducked under the Raijin no Ken, left, right, backstep, he never took his eyes off Aoi's shoulder.

"You were already ugly Ibiki!" Aoi snarled, growing increasingly frustrated from not making contact with his enemy. He would kill to have a water source nearby to use his water ninjutsu, but would have to make due with gutting the Head of the T&I Force. "And your little brother was a fool, he stole the Raijin no Ken and a scroll full of intelligence thinking he could become a Chunin." He gave the Leaf shinobi a cruel smirk. "Do you know what that sad part is? It could have all been prevented, but you had to fail your little brother and drove him to desperation!"

There, an opening! Aoi saw Ibiki falter and he struck with a vengeance. But before the Raijin no Ken could strike true his wrist was caught in Ibiki's crushing grip. "I know." He snapped Aoi's wrist like a twig, and his screams filled his ears. "You killed my brother, but I know I was what lead to his death." He then broke Aoi's elbow, his screams of agony filled his ears and the Raijin no Ken fell from his useless arm, especially after he broke his shoulder with a sickening pop.

He wasn't done yet, with his right arm completely useless Ibiki snapped a vicious kick into Aoi's right knee and shattered it like a dinner plate. Unable to support his weight Aoi fell onto the ground writhing in the worst pain he felt in years. But whatever reprieve he thought he had was taken away when a heavy sandaled foot stomped on his lower back. "Gugh...kill me already..." Aoi pathetically gasped out.

Leaning over and picking up the Raijin no Ken that caused him so much pain so many years ago, Ibiki looked at the weapon with a sense of detachment. Then looking down at the crippled Aoi, he ground his foot into his back. "Aoi Rokusho. For the theft of one of Konohagakure's treasured artifacts, defecting the village, selling our information to a foreign power, and murdering Idate Morino and several more of our shinobi...you're under arrest."

"Alright, that was pretty badass." Raion said.

"See, I told you joining the Anbu was the best career choice." Tora said.

Elsewhere in Konoha, there were multiple battles being fought. Groups of Sand and Sound shinobi overwhelmed the Leaf shinobi, and the exact opposite held true for the Leaf shinobi fighting their invaders.

However, there was one crucial fight the Leaf shinobi did not win, and it could very well cost them the future generation of shinobi. When the invasion started and the lines went dead, the academy teachers immediately went into evacuation mode. Their main priority was to get the students to safety within the Hokage Monument, even if it cost the teachers their lives to do so.

Unfortunately, that was what Orochimaru theorized was going to happen. He sent some of his most brutal shinobi to eliminate them. If some looked promising, they were to be captured, but the Snake Sannin wasn't real picky when it came to killing those he deemed to be inferior to his plans.

The attack happened as soon as the doors opened, dozens of Sound shinobi attacked the unsuspecting students and teachers. A few of the instructors put up a decent fight, but in the end they were put down. Hard. The rest were rounded up and captured, along with well over one-hundred students. All of them were forced into the training field where it was debated what to do with them.

The problem was that a good lot of the kids were terrified, and a great many of them were crying their eyes out. And a great many of the Sound shinobi didn't have the patience for that.

"Shut the hell up you fucking brats!" One of them screamed at the group of school children. His eyes were bulging with manic intensity, the palms of his hands expelling wind from the hollow tubes in his forearms.

"Shen, cool your jets." A remarkably large, and well muscled Sound shinobi chastised his comrade. Clutched in his right hand was a bigger than average katana, still dripping with fresh blood. "Orochimaru-sama wants the brats handed over to him unharmed...well those who are useful at least." He said, glaring at Udon, especially his thick glasses and runny nose.

"You won't get away with this!" Suzume, one of the few remaining teachers exclaimed.

Looking at the teacher, Shen saw that she had long, curly, black hair and wore oval glasses along with makeup, wearing red lipstick. Her outfit consisted of a simple pink kimono with mesh armor underneath and a pair of baggy red pants with flip-flop-like sandals worn with socks. She looked remarkably good all with her arms tied behind her back. He grinned behind his balaclava mask.

"Oh but I think we will." The large Sound shinobi sneered. Bringing his katana under her throat, he pressed the wet, cold steel against her tender flesh. "Lady, I would suggest you get used to our village headbands. Konohagakure is finished."

"Konoha will never be finished!" Konohamaru violently protested. Even with his hands bound behind his back like the rest of the students and teachers, he stood to his feet, fearless, or foolish. Take your pick. "Even if you destroy the village you can never kill its spirit! The Will of Fire burns within every citizen in the village, you can never extinguish it!"

"Bwahaha! That's as bad as the Will of Stone." Another rather imposing Sound shinobi said. Pointing at the shinobi threatening Suzume, he laughed at her. "Listen here kid, there is no such thing as the Will of Fire, all there is in this world is might. Captain Onigiri didn't become one of the best shinobi by following a will."

"All I believe in is the sword. The shinobi world will lie to you, your village will betray you if it benefits them. That is all there is in this life." Onigiri gripped the handle of his sword with a white-knuckled grip. "Don't look away children."

"No!" Iruka struggled to get to his feet, only to to get a brutal knock to the back of his head by the butt of a kunai. "Ack! Please, spare them."

Shen only laughed at them, so did the other Sound shinobi. "Spare them? Spare them? Oh big words, what are you going to do if we don't weakling? We got the superior numbers, and you're just going to be long forgotten."

"Oh for Kami's sake, you're all beginning to bore me." An irritated voice interrupted their fun of tormenting their victims. "We're going to kill you, we're going to kill you, blah blah fucking blah." It continued as mist slowly began to cover the area.

"What the hell? Show yourself coward!" Shen demanded.

"Coward? That's some big talk coming from a group of people about to execute some children." The voice said as the mist became more apparent and became thicker.

Onigiri narrowed his dark eyes and pulled his sword away from Suzume's neck. "Hidden Mist Jutsu."

"That's right, Captain aren't you from Kirigakure?" One of the Sound shinobi asked.

"Yea, I'm from the infamous Bloody Mist." Onigiri narrowed his eyes. "And I think I know who that is, I just didn't think the rumors were true." Growling in anger, he yelled into the mist. "Zabuza Momochi, I know you're out there!"

"Oh, am I supposed to know you?"

"No, but I have been waiting to meet you for a long time. I have dreamed of this for seventeen years." Onigiri growled in fury. "Vengeance will be mine."

Zabuza's cruel laugh sent shiver down the spines of not only his enemies, but the Leaf shinobi and students. "Heart, lungs, spine, brain, liver, kidneys, and the jugular vein. These are the seven vital spots on the human body. Which of you want to die first?"

"Hold still men. It's just a scare tactic us Mist shinobi use to terrify our enemies. If you scatter like lambs, I won't be able to do anything!" Onigiri barked at his men.

"You won't be able to save anyone."

Onigiri's ears perked up when he hard a little movement to his side, then he heard the sound of flesh tearing. The fresh smell of blood hit his nose. He turned to see the burly shinobi with his throat torn open and his life blood running down the front of his uniform. "What the?" The same sound happened on his right side, and there was another shinobi collapsing with half his skull missing.

"Oh my Kami, he's dead!" Moegi screamed in terror as bloods and brains splattered on her outfit.

"I'll get rid of this mist! Decapitating Airwaves!" Shen raised his arms, and expelled powerful bursts of sounds and airwaves from the palms of his hands. Instead of concentrated bursts, he spread it over a wide area dispersing the mist to reveal the prisoners still bound, and terrified, for different reasons now.

Ten Sound shinobi were bunched together. Not like they were trying to have safety in numbers, but because a large shuriken chain was digging into their bodies, and that chain was attached to two familiar, large metal gauntlets with clawed fingers. And those cruel weapons were attached to crueler men.

Gozu, still having shoulder-length, smooth dark-brown hair and rebreather that covered the lower half of his face had the gauntlet on his right arm. Gone were most of his clothing that identified him as a shinobi of Kirigakure, he now wore the green flak jacket of Konohagakure, and a dark blue sleeveless shirt. However he wore black pants, dark-colored, knee-length sandals, his ragged black cape and striped pattern wrist-warmers extending up to his elbows. His new Leaf headband had the same, single horn on it.

Meizu, the younger brother still had shoulder-length, wild dark-brown hair. He still wore his rebreather that covered the lower half of his face and had his gauntlet on his left arm. He also wore an outfit exactly similar to his brothers, the only difference was he had several pouches around his waist, and his Leaf headband had two horns on it.

"We have ten insects in our grasp little brother." Gozu growled from behind his rebreather.

"Indeed, it has been so long since we had such a meal. I am famished!" Meizu exclaimed.

"It's time to eat!" Both brothers pulled hard on the chain connected to their gauntlets, and the students watched in silent horror as the chain tore further into the Sound shinobi's bodies. Blood erupted from the grisly cuts, they screamed in agony as bones broke, muscles ripped, organs ruptured until finally the group of ten shinobi were torn in half in a brutal, bloody display of carnage.

"Thank you for the meal." The twins said before laughing manically.

"The Demon Brothers." Onigiri whispered, his jaw clenching underneath his mask. "I heard they were jailed."

"Does it matter?" Shen raised his arms towards the two brothers.

"No, not at all." Onigiri raised his voice to be heard. "Men! Kill everyone, leave no survivors!"

The mist once began to thicken, obscuring the children once more, the Sound shinobi couldn't even see their hands in front of their faces. Shen growled in fury and raised his arms to where they were kept prisoner. "Extreme Decapitating Airwaves!" Using a large amount of chakra, Shen emitted a high-pressured mixture of sound waves and airwaves from the holes in the palms of his hands into the area ahead of him. The air and sound quickly traveled forward, carving up the ground and reducing everything in its path to dust. He dispersed the mist and looked to see...nothing.

The sniveling brats, the scared teachers, not even a minute ago they were all bunched together like lambs to the slaughter. They weren't there, all he found were the carved up bodies of his comrades, further ruined by his attack.

That was when he felt a sharp pain in his back. His maniacal eyes widening from feeling the wetness beginning to stain his clothing.

Iruka, kunai in hand, spoke to the deranged shinobi. "Did you really think for a second I would allow my students to sit there and die?" He pushed the kunai deeper and released it. "I don't know where you come from, but learning how to escape from ropes is taught within the first week of the academy."

"But...they were terrified as rabbits."

"They were, they are. But did you really think that would stop them from doing what needed to be done in order to survive? Don't look down on the future generation of my village." Iruka retreated into the mist before he could be found, his first priority were his students, everything else came second.

"Zabuza! Where are you!?" Onigiri screamed. Waving his sword through the mist, he tried to find somebody, anybody. His ears only heard the sound of flesh tearing, screams of agony. Every person he found was killed in a cruel fashion, neck cut open, bodies torn asunder, or simply cut in half. "Demon of the Mist show yourself!"

"Why should I?" Zabuza's voice spoke into his ear. Onigiri turned to find nothing, and it only set to enraged him further. "I don't even know who you are."

"You don't know who I am? Then perhaps this will jog your memory!" Ripping his balaclava off, Onigiri revealed a himself to be a teenager, looking like he was barely nineteen years of age. He had an average-looking face, dark eyes, short black hair and sharp teeth. "Remember this face! This is the exact same face you murdered!"

"Kid, I murdered plenty of people. How am I supposed to remember the face of every person who died by my hands?"

"It's my brothers face! The same one you murdered when you killed over one-hundred students when you were just some nine year old bastard son of a no-good advisor to the Yondaime Mizukage." Onigiri snarled. "I've waited years, honed my body through years of training, I even defected the village just to find you! Face me Zabuza, your life and Kubikiribocho belong to me! Come out and face me!"

"Hmm...no."

Onigiri then felt pain in his neck, his eyes bulged before he collapsed to his knees, then finally his face rested onto the bloody grass. He couldn't move, his mind growing frantic as he lost consciousness.

"You took your sweet time, Haku." Zabuza said.

"Sorry Zabuza." Haku's voice said from the mist. "But you know I don't like killing people. He would make a better prisoner than a body anyways."

"You're still too soft." The former Demon of the Mist gruffly replied. "Don't underestimate the enemy, and give them no mercy."

"Hey Zabuza, isn't this a little ironic?" Gozu said from the mist.

"You killed over a hundred students in the academy, but today you saved over a hundred students." Meizu continued.

"Hmph, don't get used to it. This is going to give us some good credit with the village we're supposed to settle in." Zabuza growled in response. "Move out, Haku make sure those teachers and brats get to safety, Gozu, Meizu...help out where you can."

"And what are you going to do?" Haku asked.

"I'm going to do what I do best. Kubikiribocho hasn't tasted blood for a long time."

Inside the Hokage Monument the survivors weren't as lucky as the students or teachers from the academy. The amount of shinobi that guarded the civilian population were rapidly killed off, and the defenseless people themselves were butchered like cattle.

"Bwahaha! Take this you tree hugging fucks!" A rather large, intimidating Sound shinobi laughed as he crushed a civilian under a large hammer he was wielding. The crunching of bone made him shiver in pleasure.

"Easy there, we got plenty more to deal with." Said a Sand Jonin, wiping a bloodied kunai on his sleeve he exited from the room. For him this was a great day, Konohagakure was in the process of becoming nothing more than a memory. After all they have done in taking their missions it was what they deserved.

"Hey Saji, how goes it?" Silence, huh that was unusual. There was tons of screaming earlier, did they kill everyone already? No, that was impossible, they had of killed at least two-hundred odd people that he could recall. There were still thousands more.

"Saji? Answer me! Koto? Maneta? Answer me damn it!" He barged into one of the many chambers, now blasted open to expose the people hiding inside them. He expected to see his comrade cutting down people, instead everyone was still alive, and the five Sand Chunin were lying down dead.

Fury immediately boiled through him. "Who did this? Answer me now!"

"I did." An emotionless voice whispered into his ear. He then felt a thousand biting stings hitting his body at once, he opened his mouth to scream but insects entered his mouth and filled his lungs. Once his body hit the ground a figure fell from the ceiling.

It revealed that to be one of Konoha's Anbu, complete with a white cloak, and monkey mask. The figure turned towards the citizens, all of them unharmed. "Stay in here until it's safe to come out."

"Th-thank you." A woman holding her two children tight against her said. "Did the Sandaime send you?"

"You are not a priority for the Sandaime." The Anbu said coldly. "That is why my comrades and I are here. No more of you will die." Exiting the room two other, very similar robed figures landed next to him. "Were you successful?"

"We were, all evidence against the Civilian Council has been destroyed." Said one of the robed figures.

"We eliminated the staff. Destroyed the files with fire, blew up the building and placed several bodies of Sound, Sand and Leaf in and around it before detonation." The second one said. "No one will expect a thing."

"Then we will proceed with the second part. Protect the civilians." The first Anbu said. Reaching behind his back inside his cloak, he unsheathed a tanto that was straight and double-edged with no tip.

The second Anbu member cracked his fingers and limbered up. "It seems a little cruel that we had to let a dozen rooms fall for the plan to work."

"Danzo-sama's orders are absolute." The third, now revealed Root Anbu replied. Moving his index and thumbs into a square shape, he targeted the large, hammer-wielding Sound shinobi exiting the room with several other shinobi following. "Mind Destruction Jutsu!"

The much larger shinobi was hit with the jutsu, his hands tightened on his weapon. He struggled to control his body, but it was remarkably futile. He swung with all his might, impacting the five shinobi with sickening cracks of bone. "What the...Yamanaka...you cowardly bastard! Release this jutsu and fight me like a man!"

The large Sound shinobi instead found his throat cut wide open, he gasped for breath that wasn't there by the second Root Anbu member. Blazing through four hand seals he disappeared before several more shinobi entered through the opening within the monument. The Sand and Sound shinobi were soon surrounded by several bean vines that bound their bodies and lift them into the air. A bean pod then rose from the ground which opened to reveal the Root Anbu member. Tanto in hand he sliced them across the throat.

"Show off." The first Root Anbu dully said.

"It's still impressive, Danzo-sama recruited well from the Kurama Clan."

"Still a show off."

"Ninja Art: Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Throwing a single shuriken, Naruto's hands flew through several hand seals until it landed on the tiger seal. One shuriken became a hundred, simply appearing out of thin air. The dozen Sound and Sand shinobi who stood in his way didn't stand a chance in hell as the weapons impacted their bodies harshly.

"Sorry guys." Naruto apologized. The Sand shinobi may have been manipulated by Orochimaru, but they were in the way of what he needed to do. "And I'm sorry old man, I didn't mean to copy your jutsu." He felt especially bad about that. The Kurashagan was a wonderful kekkei genkai, but it really didn't discriminate in copying jutsu. When the Sandaime used his, he copied them, and when the Anbu used theirs, he copied them, the only jutsu he really wanted to copy were Orochimaru's, the Shodaime and Nidaime's, and even then he only could copy those that weren't kekkei genkai, or Hiden related.

"Blondie, you don't have time to worry about those guys. This is war, and in war nothing is fair. You have to worry about your own first." Ishikawa said.

"This still doesn't seem right Ishi." Naruto said as he passed the bodies of his enemies, but he also passed by the bodies of his allies, their forms twisted in the throes of death. He also saw the civilians, several who were caught in the crossfire. It churned his stomach smelling all the blood and death.

"War is never right Naruto." Hayate said to his student. "Sometimes it is a necessity. Sometimes you have no choice but to fight. And with this being Orochimaru, this is a just war against one of the worst men to ever come out of this village."

Naruto was forced to stop upon the roof of a building, tapping into the power of the Jagan eye he used the Remote Viewing technique. Several miles away he saw the giant three-headed snake rampaging towards the village, and he saw giant clouds of sand west of them. That was where Gaara was headed. "How is this still happening? We warned the old man, everything should have been prepared to repel them from the start."

"Kid, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. No plan survives first contact with the enemy. You can anticipate and plan all you want, but sometimes it just won't work." Ishikawa said with all the wisdom he had. Especially when his own plans lead to his early demise. "Look, as much as it sucks it could be so much worse. All this death and destruction, it could be ten times worse. If you want to stop it, take out the enemy, let the Sandaime deal with Orochimaru, you deal with Gaara."

"And I will save everyone I can." Putting his fingers into the familiar cross shaped deal, Naruto shouted. "Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu!" In a massive cloud of smoke, the blonde created two-hundred shadow clones. "Protect every civilian and Lead shinobi you can find. Try to incapacitate the Sand shinobi."

"What about the Sound shinobi?" One of the clones asked.

"Kill them, capture them, do what you think is best."

The original Naruto watched as his clones ran off into different directions. North, east, west, south, and every direction in between. He honestly hoped that he could put a stop to the bastards that wanted to destroy his village. Making sure Handanryoku was sheathed securely, he pulled out a kunai, wrapped an exploding tag around the hilt, and headed towards where Gaara was rampaging.

Naruto was barely halfway there before Hayate's words scared the hell out of him. "Naruto, jump now!"

Barely managing to jump, Naruto watched as the roof from under him was split in two, as the wood and tile broke, the blonde unfortunately fell with it. His body struck falling debris until he tumbled onto the ground. Ishikawa gave him a six out of ten.

"Throw to the right!" Naruto threw his kunai in that direction, and it detonated hitting the wall. Wood exploded into splinters, the roof collapsed, "Jump to the left!" Naruto obeyed Hayate's instructions, he immediately jumped to the left, and a wind blade nicked his pant leg.

Emerging from the rubble of the building Naruto destroyed, the form of Baki, his outfit smoking and covered in debris glared at the blonde jinchuriki. "You're good young one, if I didn't put up a wind barrier you would have gotten me."

"You're Temari's sensei." The man was remarkably unmistakable with his two distinctive, red markings on the right side of his face, and his strange turban-like headgear.

"And the guy who murdered me." Hayate glared at the Sand Jonin.

Naruto remembered, when he first came across Hayate he mentioned being murdered by the sensei of three Sand Genin within the village. It didn't take a genius to figure out who that was, and it seemed that Lady Luck was smiling on him. "I got this sensei."

"What are you talking about, boy?" Baki demanded.

"None of your damn business. Get out of my way so I can stop Gaara."

"I can't allow you to do that." Pulling out a kunai, Baki twirled it into a reverse grip. "Gaara is the key to destroying your village, I will not allow you to stop the vision of the Kazekage."

"The Kazekage is dead, Orochimaru murdered him." The blonde bluntly said. The time for being nice went flying out the window when the invasion began.

"Lies...I saw him in the stands with the Sandaime." Baki growled.

"That was Orochimaru disguised as him, I should know I fought the guy." And got his ass absolutely kicked, that was not best moment in his career.

"You have an overactive imagination boy, I would say it would take you far, but you're not going to live past the next minute" Bringing up his right hand, Baki emitted chakra into his fingertips. He closed in on the blonde, his speed completely on another level and struck the blonde down. "Wind Sword!"

Hayate watched as the technique that killed him cut into Naruto, he watched as it launched his student into the air. He was expecting to see blood flying, but instead it was a piece of roof. "Substitution, good boy."

"Water Style: Severing Wave!" Using one of his newly acquired jutsu's he stole from Tobirama, Naruto kneaded the chakra in his stomach and converting it into water, he spewed it out as a high pressure stream. Unfortunately he couldn't control it really well, the sudden force actually damn near broke his neck as the stream cut through the buildings, the ground, and everything his mouth was aimed at.

"Foolish boy!" Baki closed the distance again, his Wind Sword cut into the blonde. But this time he disappeared into a small cloud of smoke. "A clone?" The Sand Jonin looked above, to the sides, and then he realized exactly who he was dealing with. He jumped off the ground just before the tip of a sword nearly impaled him through the groin.

Naruto didn't stop because he missed his target, he continued charging forward and kicked off the crumbling wall of another building and swung Handanryoku with all his might. His Kurashagan eyes saw Baki breathe on his kunai, and he saw the wind-natured chakra, enveloping the weapon with a distinctive light green coloring covering it.

Baki thrusted the weapon at the blonde, and their eyes locked. The Jagan eye used its power to perform an illusion, Baki's mind thought he saw a horrific demon and he broke away before the strike reached him. Sweat poured down his exposed face. "What are you? You're not a Uchiha."

"No I'm something different, my name is Naruto Uzumaki. I'm a Genin of Konoha, the next Hokage of the village, and the student of Kakashi Hatake, Zabuza Momochi, and Hayate Gekko." Naruto watched his single eye widen, causing him to narrow his own eyes. "Yea, that Hayate Gekko. The man you murdered in cold blood, and I plan to lay his soul to rest by defeating you."

"It was a great tragedy that I had to kill such a fine shinobi." Baki's voice honestly shocked both Naruto, and the spirits that were watching the fight. "But my orders are absolute. And I will not fail!" Chakra exploded off his body, wind whipping off him that tore great chunks out of the ground around him, the remaining buildings crumbled from the wind flying off of him. He raised his right hand and charged a great amount of chakra into his fingertips. "Wind Sword!"

Naruto did not back down. Gripping Handanryoku so tightly that his knuckles turned white, red chakra leaked from his body, coating int in a protective layer as one chakra tail emerged from his backside, fox-like chakra ears emerged off the top of his head, canines lengthened, whisker marks became blacker, and the pupils of the Kurashagan turned into animal-like slits.

Creating two shadow clones Naruto charged Baki from three different directions. Each leapt through the air in a formation reminiscent of a crescent moon. A technique Baki knew all too well. "Dance of the Crescent Moon!" All three blades struck at Baki, one from the back, one from the right, and one from the front.

Baki unleashed his jutsu with devastating force. A giant crater formed in the ground, and carved into the clones. They dispersed without even letting out a cry. The original, he also took the attack, he felt it penetrate his chakra cloak, lacerate his torso, arms and legs, blood did flow from his body, and it hurt like a bitch.

But Handanryoku struck Baki. He raised his right hand in an attempt to block it just like he did with Hayate. But unlike last time he was dealing with a regular katana, and Handanryoku was not a regular katana. The blade cut through his left hand, it cleaved through the flak jacket in the shoulder area, and as it cut downwards he also cleaved through his leg from the knee downwards.

Baki was silent as he looked at the loss of his limbs. Then gravity hit him as he fell backwards to look up at the sky, he was beaten by the student of the man he killed. What an irony. "You were trained well boy." The shock hadn't hit him yet, it would come soon, he was sure of it. "Do it, finish me."

Flicking the blood off his blade, Naruto sheathed it. "No, I beat you for murdering a good man. Whether you live or die, that is up for the Shinigami to decide. In this life or the next, you will pay for your crimes."

"That is not the way of the shinobi." Baki protested. "It's kill or be killed, you can't...you can't leave me here to-"

"I can and will, goodbye." Naruto didn't spare Baki of Sunagakure another look before he left him lying there in a pooling puddle of his own blood. After a while passed he looked in the direction of where both Hayate and Ishikawa were floating. "I'm sorry sensei."

Hayate was silent for several seconds before finally speaking up. "You made the call, and you defeated him using the very same technique I failed to finish him off with. You did good."

"And yet you're still here." Ishikawa remarked.

"I don't think I'll be able to rest until this invasion is done and over with. If Konoha prevails then I can go to my promised reward."

"I honestly hope that is all it will take." Naruto got his game face one when he used Jagan's Remote Viewing to see further ahead, and what he saw caused him to be filled with worry.

Gaara and his siblings were still felling towards the edge of the village causing nothing but wanton destruction in their paths. Sasuke, Shino, Lee and Sakura were doing their best to fight them off.

Against Kankuro and Temari they would have easily stood a chance. But against Gaara who cared for nothing but killing, they didn't stand a chance, especially if he accessed the One-Tail's chakra fully.

If he did, then it would be jinchuriki versus jinchuriki. May the Shinigami help him win if it came to that.

Armageddon: Hello folks, man oh man am I late in posting this. Oh well I'm not getting paid for this, and there are so many hours in a day a person can write before they say "Fuck it, I'm gonna watch a movie." or "Fuck it, I'm gonna play a video game." and my favorite "Fuck it, I'm going to bed."

Don't worry folks this is not a rant or me threatening to quit or anything like that, but all work and no play does burn out an author. Bare with me my fine reviewers, my stuff will get done...eventually. Until then, enjoy yourselves, don't do anything I wouldn't do.
