Ex's Ruin Everything

Chun-Li's alarm clock was going to go off in about thirty minutes, but something was stirring the World Class Martial Artist awake early. She opened her eyes with her palm over the blank portion of her bed. It wasn't as cold as usual, but it was still a reminder that Interpol was robbing her of something she so dearly wanted while supplying hope and protection to the entire world. She grimaced at the thought and shut her eyes again.

She stirred awake again after a couple of minutes. She heard her door opening and gently closing, and suspected that it was her grandmother visiting with her, or there to wake her up. "I'll be up in a few minutes." She spoke in her native language as she pulled the covers over her head.

There was no response.

"Go away." Chun-Li added, still speaking in Mandarin Chinese.

The presence didn't go away.

There was the sound of a cloth hitting the floor.

That got Chun-Li's attention.

"Alright." Chun-Li said in English now. "What's the big idea?" She lowered the sheets and looked toward her visitor…

Only to spot the barely clothed Jaw-Long standing in her room with a pair of sunglasses and a Zebra-print bikini-styled pair of underwear on. On the plus side, he was extremely well built with abs that were tightened and sculpted to perfection. He had a lean build, big gelled black hair that stood up on end and a million dollar smile on his face.

However, Chun-Li's jaw just dropped while she looked on in disbelief.

Jaw took his sunglasses off and maintained his big toothy grin. "Chun-Li…it's been a long time. Since College, right?" He tossed his sunglasses away and continued to flex for her. "So, how about we cut to the chase, my love? Let's start a family…" He posed again, flexing his pectorals. "Let's make a bay-bay~…"

Chun-Li was speechless…until she screamed at the top of her lungs and covered herself up in her sheets.

Jaw panicked and rushed to her side and placed his hand over her mouth. "Shhh! Your grandmother's gonna kill me if she think I hurt you!"

Chun-Li's eyes were burning with hatred. She elbowed Jaw right in his tightened stomach to back him off, and immediately wrapped her arm around his neck in a headlock position. With a pivot of her hips, she took him down onto her bed in a hold where he would have very little chance to escape her.

"My grandmother?!" She shouted silently as she glared at him beneath her torso. "Look, Jaw, there's nothing between us! Stop asking me to have your kids!"

"Come on!" Jaw returned the silent shouting. "Let's give it a try! At least pretend you're okay with this so your granny doesn't break my legs! Come on!"

"Get out." Chun-Li released him and sat up on her knees. She pointed toward her door. "Get out before I kick you hard enough to kill all of the children that you currently have on you."

Jaw-Long sat up and pouted. "Don't be that way, Chun-Li…" He rubbed his hands together. "How about a match for old time's sake?!" He pounced her, getting right on top of her. He was playfully pinning her down, and she actually put up a fight to get from beneath him.

However, the tussling wasn't quite the same for someone walking in.

"…Oh." A voice said from the now opened door. It was Ken of all people…stopping by the place despite the bitter way the conversation ended last night.

Chun-Li's eyes were bigger than Zangief's tuft of chest hair at this point. She craned her neck to look to Ken, and Jaw-Long's expression mirrored her surprise.

"Ken!" Chun-Li called out. "This is uh…this is an old friend of mine, Jaw-Long. It's not what it looks like at all."

"Ex-boyfriend, actually." Jaw corrected her.

"…Yeah." Ken exhaled and looked away. "Have a good day." He immediately began to leave.

As Ken stepped out of the doorway, Chun-Li tossed Jaw-Long off of her bed harshly and ran outside in her pajamas to catch up with Ken.

"Hey!" She called out as she reached for him. He obliged her request and turned around, but the expression on his face was entirely dead. Chun-Li placed her hands on his shoulders. "Ken, please. My grandmother invited him over to cause mayhem. He was wrestling me, but I did not want him in my room dressed that way or any way for that matter."

Ken just looked at her. His face did not change its composition at all or even hinted at a smirk. It wasn't pleased with her at all. "I'm sure you've got a lot of work to do."

"Masters!" Chun-Li stomped on the ground hard as she glared up at him. "I'm not going to sit here and have you call me a liar in your blonde-little-head, buster!" She was starting to get angry. "Yes, he is my ex-boyfriend but I am not here trying to rekindle old flames. I want to build something with you! Look at me!" She grasped his chin lightly and tried to get him to maintain eye contact with her. "I swear to you, Ken. It wasn't anything I intended on."

Ken didn't say a word. He reached up and gently held Chun-Li's wrist. "…Let's talk about this later. I'm headin' home tonight…"

Chun-Li frowned…, but at least she had a chance to redeem his trust in her. "Deal. We'll have dinner." She exhaled and released him. She didn't know what to do or say…she did not want to sound weak, desperate, or needy. "I just need you to trust me like I trust you, okay?"

"Why wouldn't you trust me?" Ken felt a little pinch in his heart. Maybe she knew about his talk with Mai about Eliza? It was natural paranoia, but he wasn't going to outright say it. "I'm not doin' anything questionable…other than showin' up unannounced…"

"You can show up anytime, Ken." Chun smiled. "Just be careful…there's a dangerous criminal out on the loose with a vendetta against me. I don't…want you to get hurt."

There was a glimmer of hope. Ken's lips curled into a small smirk. "I've dealt with worse." He placed a hand at Chun-Li's side as he began stepping back. "Dinner tonight. Eight o'clock. I'll call you."

"I'll call off work so I can make it." She said with a smile. Her hands went behind her large hips as she watched Ken head downstairs…surely to her waiting, overly nosey grandmother and potentially Yun and Yang.

Jaw-Long peeked his head out from her bedroom. "…So…you comin' to bed?"

Chun-Li's annoyance reached new heights…as she pursed her lips tightly and furrowed her eyebrows…

Outside of Gen's restaurant, the window overlooking the alley and dumpsters was peaceful and lightly coated in snow. The sound of chirping filled the early morning air. Ken passed the alley to climb into his car across the street…

His peace was disturbed by the sound of breaking glass as Jaw-Long was kicked out of the window and out onto the open dumpster on the other side of the alley. He was still barely clothed, but surely unable to further annoy Chun-Li.

Ken lingered near his opened car door for a moment and shook his head. He actually got a chuckle from the sight.
