Sebastian thought... he might be... sad. He couldn't be sure, but still. They had only been together for a month now. And the boy was rather hard to read.
Ciel sat on his bed, facing away from the demon. It was an oddly trusting thing to do, but Sebastian had grown used to his easy faith in his butler. He looked at the child quietly, as if to confirm his suspicions.
But that, Sebastian found, was not even remotely effective.
The raven haired man walked over to his master slowly, giving him time to notice. He carefully sat down on the bed and looked over to the small form next to him. Ciel's eyes, both uncovered, moved up from his lap to the strangely pleasant red gaze.
Sebastian's smile softened. Something was definitely troubling his young master.
"Is everything quite alright, botchan?"
And just like that, the sorrow melted away. Ciel sat up and smiled at Sebastian. He even seemed to relax a bit. But there was something forced about it.
"It's nothing, Sebastian." he said, a little too brightly. The demon frowned at him. He sighed, and the smile faded. "It's only that, I always thought I would go to heaven. Though god no longer want's me." he sounded slightly wistful.
And then he paused, as if realizing something for the first time.
"But I suppose that means I'll get to stay with you forever instead." his voice held a small smile. "I rather like that idea."
Sebastian pulled Ciel onto his lap. He stroked the midnight blue hair. The child curled into him.
"God doesn't want you, but I still do."
