Want
Chapter Nine

It had been two days since the library incident, and she had not seen Severus at all. He was never at meals, and no matter where she went in the Manor, he was never to be found.

Deciding that it was pointless to try and seek him out in the house any longer, she gathered some of her things together and decided to make a trip into Diagon Alley.

Just as she was about to leave the grounds, however, Leafer appeared at her side.

"You are wanted back at the house, Mistress."

Hermione scowled. He had been there the entire time, hiding from her. "Tell Severus that I will speak with him when I am done with my trip."

"Mistress, I really think you should return to the house." The house-elf in front of her looked incredibly nervous, and Hermione shook her head.

"Did he threaten you, Leafer? If he did, you are quite welcome to join me on my outing." She laughed at the excited bounce that Leafer gave at the news. "Never let Severus threaten you, is that clear?"

"Yes, Mistress. However, Master Severus has not threatened me; I just feel you should go to him."

"Leafer, I have been trying to go to him for days. I am not the one hiding. If he wants to speak with me, he can do the hunting." Holding out her hand, she gestured for Leafer to take it. "Come, let us get there before the morning rush."

Not expecting the elf to take initiative, she gave a startled shriek when she landed in Severus' lap.

"Hermione?"

Hermione huffed and leapt to her feet. "Leafer! Where are you, you littleā€¦" Stamping her foot, she clenched her fists. "I cannot believe she just did that."

"Hermione, how did you get in here?"

"Leafer brought me." Wiping a hand over her eyes she looked around. She hadn't even been paying attention to where she was. And now she could see that his bedroom hadn't changed at all, in all the time that she had been gone. "I am sorry; I know you were avoiding me... I will just go." She only had a chance to touch the edge of the door handle before she was spun round and pushed up against it.

"I do not think so, Hermione." His breath sent warm tingles down her spine as he spoke into her neck. His hands lifted hers above her head. "You have forgiven me, have you not?"

"I have."

Kissing up her neck, he nibbled on her ear lobe gently. "Then I see no reason for our separate rooms any longer."

"No." Groaning, Hermione arched her back. All the tension since being back in the house had her balancing on the edge, and Severus was the only one that could help her tip over.

"And you will always be able to find me." He kissed both cheeks and then her forehead.

"I will." She moaned as he finally took possession of her mouth, mewling as he drew one leg between hers and pushed himself against her.

Growling, he spun away from the door and towards the bed. "You are mine." His lips took hers again as he walked her backwards till the backs of her knees hit the edge of the mattress.

She smiled as he lowered her onto the mattress. "I am yours, Severus."

"I love you." He brushed his lips against hers.

"I love you, too." She shuddered as his right hand moved up her leg and under her skirts. "I've missed you."

"And I have missed you." Lowering himself onto her, their lips met with a frenzied passion.

Down in the kitchens, Leafer smiled triumphantly. "I win. I told you I could get them together again."

"You did nothing. They came here themselves. This is not your house, Leafer." Riply growled. "This house is my responsibility; the children will be mine to care for."

"We made a bet. I got them together before she left the grounds. You should not have bet your job." Leafer giggled, and before Riply could get his long green fingers around her neck, she snapped her fingers and was gone from the room.
