So here it is! The last chapter, finally.

Enjoy!

After their sweet kiss at the kitchen, they were now at the living room talking.

"What? Stop with that." Mikan grumpily said, pushing Natsume away from her.

"Why?" he was smirking at her. "Come on, do you still wear those polka dots?" Natsume had been endlessly teasing her with that. He was glad that she felt more comfortable now. If reassuring a Mikan Sakura was that all it takes, then he would fortunately do it every single day.

She pouted, seeing that Natsume had no intention of stopping. "I'm going home." She stood up, stomping a foot like a child. She started to walk away.

Natsume chuckled at her childishness and pulled her by the wrist, unintentionally letting her fall into his lap. "Sorry, sorry." He said, his sincerity wavered in between his laughs.

Mikan glared at him but it instantly softened when she saw Natsume's smile and his eyes now glistened with joy. "Okay, okay." She can forgive him for his teasing. "You can let me go, now." She said as she tried to wriggle free of Natsume's hand.

He squinted his eyes at her, "Let you go? Never."

Mikan couldn't hide the blush that quickly reddened her cheeks. "When did he become this vocal? Or was he always like this?" Thoughts running through her mind as she couldn't find words to snap back.

Then they heard a cough behind them.

That caught their attention as Mikan hastily stood up, away from Natsume's clutch while Natsume just turned his head to see who the intruder was ready to pummel whoever for disturbing them.

But instead his eyes widened as he stood up, "Father?!" he called out. "What are you doing here?" He asked, taking a glance at Mikan who was standing with her head down.

"Why? Can't I visit my own son?" His father walked around and settled for the single seat on the living room. He looked at Mikan, giving her a head to toe scan.

Natsume quickly shielded Mikan from his father's prying eyes. He didn't want him pushing a person she loves away, not this time. He was definitely not letting him say a single word to Mikan or let him meet her ever again. He knows how his father's words can completely faze another's emotions.

"You shouldn't have just barged in here." He hissed.

"I didn't barge in here, as you put it. I was guided inside by your kind doorman downstairs." His father casually replied.

Natsume not wanting Mikan to witness any of their banters, turned to her. "Can you get home by yourself? I'm really sorry. I didn't know he was coming."

Before Mikan can reply, Natsume's father inserted. "Come on, I just arrived and you won't even introduce her." His face showing a tight lipped smile.

Natsume turned to him, "No. I'm not." Glaring at his father.

He looked at Mikan but instead she smiled at him, "I don't want to be rude Natsume." And she faced Natsume's father. "My name's Mikan Sakura." She introduced, bowing her head.

"Nice to meet you Miss Sakura." He replied. Mikan doubting he meant it. "Why don't you both sit down?"

Mikan sat down and Natsume after giving a big exasperated sigh, sat down beside her.

"I actually came here Natsume because I heard about your little incident and since you weren't picking up any of my calls, I had no choice." The older Hyuuga said.

"There wasn't really much to say and I have it all handled." The younger Hyuuga replied with the same tenacity.

"And I assume, this is the woman involved?" Ignoring Natsume as he focused his attention on the brunette woman.

"I'm really sorry, I didn't know it would cause so much trouble." Mikan apologized, still not daring to look the other Hyuuga in the eye.

"You don't have to apologize Mikan." Natsume told her as he took her hand in his, tighter than Mikan had expected. "Father, please just go." He said, keeping his cool in check.

"So you used to work for my son?" He queried, once again ignoring Natsume.

"Yes sir. But I'm currently employed at the Yumiko Corp." She replied, her confidence fading with every single word. She may not show it so evidently, but she was nervous as a wreck. Her hands were already sweating hard.

"Ah! They're really good partners with us." He approvingly nodded. "But you're just a secretary, why are you going out with him?"

That question hitched Mikan's breath. Of course, he would ask that. He wanted to know if she was after the money or fame or something else.

"Father! That's enough." Natsume roared. "You're not doing this again. I was the first to like her and ask her out. I'm not letting you get in the way." he stood up, grabbing Mikan.

But Mikan stiffened, not allowing Natsume to drag her out. She lowered her head, "I am going to apologize first for what I am going to say." She paused, took a breath in and leveled her gaze with the older Hyuuga. "I may not be as rich as you are or as fancy as any other girls out there but I assure that I am not after money or other things you may be thinking right now."

Natsume just stood there, stunned by Mikan's stand against his father.

"It may sound as cheesy or childish to hear this, but I sincerely care for your son. I don't even know what I can actually do for him but I will do my best to help him." She stopped and seeing that there was no response from Natsume or his father, so she continued.

"I am really not after the money because honestly, the way you all live seems too extravagant and impractical to me." she added with a little more emphasis. "And I really think that as his father, you should support him in whatever decision he makes." She finished, biting her tongue after for her insolent little suggestion.

"And support his decision, means you?" he eyed Mikan, waryly.

Mikan nodded like a little dog, regretting why she had to say that last statement.

Natsume's father just looked at her for a few seconds before bursting into a laugh. Mikan and Natsume was caught off guard by his unexpected reaction. They were imagining an angry outburst or a series of more insults.

Mikan glanced at Natsume with questioning eyes, as if his father has gone mad. Natsume glanced back to her with the same questioning look.

He was watching Mikan fascinated by her. "You really think that we are extravagant?" he asked, after he was able to stifle in his laugh.

Mikan waited cautiously before responding. "Yes. I mean, I know you have so much money to spend but still, does it not feel like a waste?" Mikan and her blabbering mouth. It seemed like she had gained back the confidence, seeing how the older Hyuuga can actually be reasoned with.

"But you know we still have to live with the standards so our business partners can respect us too." Natsume's father reasoned.

"Of course, I understand that. Working with rich people like you had taught me quite a lot."

Natsume just watched as Mikan and his father engage in a conversation. He was stunned to see his father actually listening and nodding his head, agreeing to some of Mikan's statements. He couldn't even voice out any words since the two had momentarily seemed to forget he was even there.

"Rich people like us?" he curiously reiterated.

"Rich people like you that run multi-million companies and your hard work and sacrifice." She explained. "Don't get me wrong, I know your money have also helped a lot of people because of your charities although a lot of companies and wealthy do it just to lessen their tax." She bit her tongue again. "How much more are you going to say Mikan?" she thought to herself, instantly regretting her words.

"Son, what are you doing standing there? Come sit and join us." His father called him. "Well, Miss Sakura"

"Mikan sir, just Mikan." She interrupted.

"Well, Mikan" He repeated, "You're right about that. It's like hitting two birds with one stone." And he winked playfully at her.

"Father, stop flirting with my girlfriend." He watched his father in disgust, acting like a teenager. Mikan elbowed him on the stomach.

"He really is like that. I apologize." Mikan sincerely said.

"It's alright. I'm used to it." Mr. Hyuuga chuckled. "I really like you Miss Mikan Sakura." He smiled at her.

Mikan was speechless with Natsume's father's acknowledgement that she was only able to manage a heartfelt smile.

"So Natsume, how long have you been together?" he asked his son, looking at him intently. "Is she living here with you?"

"No, I'm not." Mikan quickly answered for Natsume, not wanting to create a bad impression.

"She's not. We were just having a little date before you came in and interrupted." Natsume glared at him, reminding him of his disturbance.

"Oh, really? I really think that this house of yours could use some feminine touch." Mr. Hyuuga looked around. "It's all too stiff."

"Yeah, it kind of feels a little bit stiff." Mikan agreed, looking around too and that made Mr. Hyuuga like her even more.

"Why are you two suddenly so agreeable with each other?" he eyed them both cautiously. Mikan just beamed into a smile while his father played a little smile of his too. Natsume just shook his head, confuse if he should be relieved or worried.

"Anyway, how long are you staying? I think you have already snooped enough." He spoke to his father, as rudely as ever.

His father sighed and stood up. "I'll be going then."

Natsume and Mikan stood up, walking him out of the door. "It was great meeting you Mr. Hyuuga." Mikan said.

"It was greater meeting you Mikan." He acknowledged back. "You better marry her Natsume, she would totally be a great addition to the family."

Mikan choked on her own saliva with what she heard. "Sir, I don—" she started to say.

Natsume placed an arm over Mikan's shoulder and smirked. "Do you even have to say that?" he replied, rhetorically.

His father smiled at him, "Good." He took a step out the door. "I'll see you soon, I hope." And with that, he left contented that finally, maybe, his son had found his perfect fit.

Even after Natsume's father had left, Mikan still stared at Natsume for his playful remark while her heart was beating faster than it usually does. "How could you say that so simply?" she dropped his arms back to his side.

"What?" he asked her. "I meant it. Why? Don't you want to marry me someday too?"

Mikan walked back to the living room, ignoring his question. She wanted to hide the blush from her face before he notices it. She also needed to calm her own freaking heart for getting excited over words like that.

"Mikan" Natsume called her, his tone much more serious than before. She looked at him. He was now standing in front of her, as he touched Mikan's face by his palms.

"You said that I had everything I could ever want or need and you were right." He paused. "When you came, that's when everything had felt right finally."

Mikan smiled sweetly at him, taking his hand into hers. "I know everything can mean different to you and any other person, but now you're my everything, Mikan. That's why I meant it when I said that I want to be with you for a very long time, forever if possible." He meant every single word. Others may say that they were too early in the relationship to say that but Natsume was sure that it was Mikan that was missing all along. That it was Mikan, that's why it never worked out with someone else.

"I believe you." Mikan finally responded. "You don't have to worry because I am not going anywhere. I'm staying and I'm not leaving you." She said her own promise of forever.

And for the second time that night, they shared another kiss, more passionate and lasting as it held their promises of love and the tomorrows that they will soon face together.
