I Carry Your Heart With Me My Love

~i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart), i am never without it (anywhere i go you go, my dear and whatever is done by only me is your doing my darling)~

A beautiful, auburn haired youth skipped her way down the worn path of a tropical paopu tree forest. Her vibrant red hair contrasted deeply from her liquid aquamarine eyes as it swayed to and fro as she pushed her way through the heavily wooded area just before a sandy beach. When her sandals hit the blazing hot sand she jumped for a moment, stopped by the heat. Her cerulean eyes searched the beach and caught site of who she was looking for. Spiky brown hair was peaking over a misshapen paopu tree and she targeted it and rocketed over to the teen. Her purple sundress rippled in the wind and her voice called to him like chiming of bells.

"Sora!" he peaked his head over the tree to see the girl scampering towards him.

"Kairi!" he popped up and ran to meet her part way, underneath the shade of the palm leaves. For a moment, it seemed as though their friendly embrace was going to be more, but the blushing teens pulled away in an awkward pause.

"Why'd you want to meet here Sora?" she dug a sandaled toe in the sand, trying to not look up into his eyes.

"Well I just wanted it to be you and me… ya know?" he was also looking past her and into the trees as a pink blush crossed his cheeks.

"Oh… th-that would be nice," she suddenly got her courage back and grabbed his hand, "Let's go play in the water. I'm gonna die in this heat."

The redhead pulled the boy to the waves' edge with her and they kicked their sandals into the sand behind them. She shrieked lightly at the iciness of the water. The girl pulled the skirt of her dress into her hands, balling it and lifting it higher as she walked deeper into the water. The boy stopped before the water and plopped into the sand. He watched her play in the water as the sun brightened all the colors across her skin.

"Sora!" she turned and kicked water at him, making him focus on her.

"Kairi, I'll get you for that," h pushed himself out of the sand and at the girl, who squealed in delight.

She dropped her skirt and ran away from him with joyful screams. He paused for a second when the cold water hit above his knees and hit the edge of his swim shorts. Once he was adjusted, he eyed her once again like a playful predator and sprang after her. For a few hours they kept up the childish game of cat and mouse before he caught her and wrapped his arm around her.

"Let me go!" she giggled, attempting to wriggle free.

"Now why would I do something as silly as that when I just put up a fight to snag you?" he whispered in her ear, making her chest tighten and her face flush.

"Sora," she whined shyly, no longer squirming as much against him.

"I simply cannot let you go."

"And why not?" the tide pushed at her backside and stuck her dress to her.

"Well… I couldn't imagine losing hold of you," he turned her to face him as the water splashed at their bodies.

"W-What?" her eyes met with his, confused.

"Kairi… I wanted to tell you…" suddenly he was nervous at the sight of her bright blue eyes, then he started to gain courage, "You remember when you came to the islands? That was nearly twelve years ago and look at us now…"

"I know, it seems like a billion years ago," she smiled and sighed into him.

"We've been through so much and… I neer want to let anyone have your heart but me, forever."

"W-What are you talking about Sora?"

"Wherever you are, whatever you do, my feelings can't seem but grow stronger for you and Kairi…" he paused as he lost his wind until he figured the next words, "I've fallen in love with you."

"You've fallen in love with me?" the redhead blushed and looked back to him, "That's good… because, I've definitely fallen in love with you too."

"Oh…" he felt his heartbeat speed up and he smiled, "Now you know why I can't let you go."

"Well, not really because you can let me go because I don't want to leave you… ever."

"Yeah and… I've always wondered what it be like if I did this-," he let her arms go and put hands to either sides of her face to pull her face towards his.

The nerves melted away and their lips were drawn together like magnets. Just a brush and his warm breath pulled them together, crashing down on hers in a moment that couldn't be more perfect. How short the moment was and how much she craved him once more.

"Sora?" she was questioning why he pulled away.

"Even now, I miss you and my heart aches for you," she leaned forward to kiss him, but he whispered against her lips, "I want to be mine."

"I… don't know what to say."

His hands moved to her sides, "Say you'll never go away from here without me. Say you'll always be my whole world forever in my life. Say I can love this softness, these lips, and everything forever."

She kissed his nose and hummed into his lips.

"Does this mean you're never gonna let me go?"

"Never."

If you've ever read the E.E. Cummings poem 'i carry your heart with me' then you get why that poem fits Sora and Kairi so perfectly. I do encourage you to read the poem and you'll get why.

Thanks, I'm rewriting things slowly but surely and I hope people like these.
