"Yes."

He had promised her. He had promised her that she would be completely safe with him, and now she was missing. He had broken his promise. People might think it didn't matter, because when you killed countless of people, what difference did one tiny promise make? But he knew better, because he might be a good-for-nothing, a player, a cold-hearted killer even (and he was not ashamed to admit that), but the one thing that he was NOT, was a liar.

When he had said that she would be safe with him, he had meant it, and he had had every intention of keeping her safe.

And this was Elena. The only human who actually meant something to him.

He had to find her. Fast.
