Rain

The drops fell heavily on the sidewalk, splashing upwards and then flowing down the drain into on of the sewers. Butters sat at his window, taping his fingers along the glass and watching his breath fog up. He hated being sick, it was one of the very few things the sweet blonde boy hated. He hated the stuffed up feeling it gave him, the continuous headaches that only worsened after sleep, and the weakness that made him feel like he wouldn't be able to walk for days. He hated it all, but oh did he love the rain.

He loved the rain with a passion, and he'd give almost anything to be out there right now in his band new rain boots, splashing in puddles and feeling the water fall on his skin. But Butters was sick, and so he stayed in his room, only allowed to imagine being outside. He blew hard on the window and drew a heart in the fog, smiling slightly.

"I hope that heart's for me," said a voice from his doorway. Butters turned to see his most favorite person in the world, Kenny McCormick. He stood, leaning against the door frame with a small wrapped box in his hand and a grin on his face. "Your mom told me you were sick, so I brought you something," he said, sitting cross legged across from Butters. He smiled sweetly, taking the small box from Kenny.

He unwrapped it, inside was a charm bracelet with a Hello Kitty charm and a small heart engraved with a K. Butters grinned, this was the best present he'd gotten in his life to date. "Thanks Ken," he said, kissing the taller boys cheek, "Love you." Kenny smiled, fastening the bracelet onto Butters' thin wrist.

"Your welcome Buttercup, I love you too," Kenny replied, holding his hand as they sat and watched the rain. After a few minutes Kenny sighed. Butters looked at him, afraid he'd done something to upset the other boy.

"What's wrong Kenny?" He asked, leaning closer to the other blonde. Kenny just grinned, hauling Butters onto his back and grabbing a red umbrella. "Wh-What are you doing Kenny?" Butters asked, arms tightening around Kenny's shoulders, and legs around his waist. Kenny opened the umbrella on the porch and turned his head up to smile at Butters.

"I know you love the rain Butterscotch," he said, jumping into a puddle. Butters giggled, nuzzling his face into the crook of Kenny's neck. They ran around in the rain for a little while, before Butters got a bit too heavy for Kenny to handle. He sat down on the porch steps and pulled Butters into his lap, sitting the umbrella over them both. Butters smiled and hugged close to Kenny as they listened to the rain pour down.

Butters decided it wasn't so bad being sick after all.

Tired.

I own neither South Park, nor Hello Kitty.
