In times of dire need great things can happen. Usually when your life and very existence is on the line these feats occur. All it takes is a few moments to decide if you will be saved or not. And fortune favours those who keep a level head. And sometimes those in utter panic of course but those times are rare.
He couldn't feel the heat. Nor could he feel the panic his partner was feeling. In fact he couldn't feel Yugi at all. All he knew was complete and utter darkness. He had felt it before, but this time it was different, he knew he wasn't alone or would be alone for very long. So he sat, and he waited. When in a timeless state it is hard to know how much time has passed since you can no longer recall it, but he knew it hadn't been long when the lights came back on and he could feel Yugi again.
It was hot, unbearably so but somehow his partner had managed it. It took him a second to adjust to it, and the lights again. In the next second he could feel his partner's relief and happiness that he had finished the puzzle again. Then he could feel the pain he was in.
'Yugi!' he shouted as he felt Yugi collapse and his mental wave fade into unconsciousness. It wouldn't have been a problem if it were spiritual fatigue and not physical because now he couldn't take over and get them out of there. He sighed, determined now to find a way out as nearly everyone had left.
Nearly.
Jonouchi.
The puzzle was attached certainly, but the creepy metal hand should be able to free it. If only Jonouchi would think. Another moment passed. Yeah, he thought, given the circumstance that wasn't going to happen now was it. He could think of one solution. But was their link strong enough? Their feelings strong enough? Summoning up a surprisingly little amount of energy he was able to reach out. Calmly.
"Jonouchi."
In a moment they were connected. In another they were free. In more they were out.
All it takes is a moment, and in that moment he loved him.

And thus begins season seven of the Yugioh Pairing Contest.
Anyway, since I haven't disclaimed in awhile, I don't own Yugioh at all. Not even slightly. The closest I get is owning every Yugioh manga printed in English and that only proves how sad I am. … Or awesome depending on your point of view.
And this was based off Yugioh Duelist 10.
