During war, a ninja must always be prepared to lose those that are close to them. It's a occupational hazard. However, a human heart can only withstand so much, and losing all that is close to you can push one greatly. Push one to depression. To madness.

To revenge.

Such a day did occur in the Hidden Leaf Village. And a kunoichi did indeed lose everyone she held dear. Friends, family, even a lover.

And that indeed push her to revenge.

Now standing atop the Hokage monument of Konahagakure, said kunoichi looked out to the repaired village that was once devastated almost 6 years ago. Though so long ago, she could see it as if it was happening at that very moment.

"Mrs. Uzumaki."

Breaking her out of her train of thought, an Anbu appeared behind her in a puff of smoke.

"The Hokage would like to see you, Mrs. Uzumaki. I believe it's about a mission" said the Anbu.

The kunoichi turned around, letting the wind do with her deep purple hair as it saw fit and stared at the Anbu kneeling in front of her. This kunoichi was Hinata Uzumaki.

"Arigatou, Hawk-san"

With only those words, Hinata dispersed.

'Poor girl... all alone..' Hawk thought, then he too dissappeared.

To the Hokage's office

"Konnichiwa, Moegi" Hinata came in with a smile.

Moegi didn't look the same as she did those years back. In fact, her appearance resembled Sakura Haruno as she wore a sleeveless top and shorts with fingerless gloves. She kept her pigtails however.

"Hey Hinata-san! He's already in there ready for you." Moegi said behind some papers. No doubt some paper work that the Hokage was slacking off on due to the vein popping through her forehead.

Hinata chuckled at the young girl and walked right in the office.

"You wanted to see me, Hokage-sama?"

"Ah, yes Hinata. And how many times must I tell you to drop the honorific? You're older than me!"

"But it shows respect-"

"Gaaah! Drop the honorific!"

Sighing, she responded to the childish leader "Very well, Konahamaru."

"Thank you."

Konohamaru grew up in the last 6 years. His ponytail grew much longer and he much taller. His childhood scarf was hanging up on the wall next to a picture of him and his team.

"Anyway, the reason you're here. Well, there's been some complaints over in the Crescent Moon Village. You remember the place?"

"Yes sir, that's where Kakashi-sensei, Lee-san, Sakura-san, and Naruto-kun went on that mission to protect the prince."

"Exactly. Well, it seems as if some Rock nin has been spotted over there wreaking havoc. They want to get their hands on the present-prince. The king has asked for help, so I'm sending you."

"Will that be all Hoka-" Hinata stopped herself as gloom took over Konohamaru and his eyes became full of tears. "I mean, Konohamaru?"

The gloom disappeared and Konahamaru perked up. "Nope, that will be all. You leave as soon as possible."

"Understood"

Hinata turned on her foot to leave when Konahamaru suddenly stopped her."

"Oy, Hinata-neechan! I almost forgot..." he began rummaging through a box and took out a ring. "Here you go"

Hinata stared at the ring in awe and sadness. It was Naruto's. It was his wedding ring.

"Wh-where..."

"He took it off before he left for the war and left it here with a note with specific instructions stating that if he was to die and you were to live, to return his heart to you. Romantic, right?"

She took hold of the ring with trembling fingers and clutched it. Konahamaru sat there and watched as she calmed herself down feeling a little guilty.

"We both know that revenge is not healthy."

Her trembling stopped as she looked at Konahamaru with eyes of mixed emotions. But the most apparent one was ridicule.

"Being a ninja is not healthy, Konahamaru."
