Uncertain Love

The harsh rigid sun slowly sets as the mark of the end of another summer day. The transition is slow for one to enjoy the days' last rays of light. One young chunnin was going home to after a stress filled day of teaching children how to annihilate the enemy with a sharp kunai. Going to his house secluded on a hilltop camouflaged in the protected coolness of trees.

Iruka found his keys and opened the door while listening to the gentle jingle the metal made. He went to the couch to unload his pockets and strip off his chunnin jacket, he felt a presence. The soft chakra lingering in his house felt familiar but almost foreign to him. He padded softly to the hallway. The chakra grew strong and very familiar as he neared his bedroom. Iruka sensed no danger but was prepared, he wasn't foolish. The door glided open under his gentle force. His breathe caught in his throat. There on his bed was woman wearing a blue silver kimono with embroidered flowers and trees in black and red. The kimono revealed her bear shoulders exposing milky white skin. The woman was facing the window letting the golden sun tickle her long silver hair and her soft skin. As Iruka stepped forward a bit, the silvernette turned so that a quarter of her face was seen. It was then Iruka knew exactly who this woman was.

In a soft but angered tone, he asked,

"What are you doing?"

"Being the woman you deserve, Iruka" she said in a voice smothered in lust.

"What do you mean, deserve?"

"Oh simple minded Iruka, you deserve a woman who will treat you right and give you heirs,… not me." The lust in her voice change to sadness.

"Get out of that henge." He said.

In a puff of smoke, the woman changed into her normal self. The kimono woman was a man, and not just any man. Sitting on the bed with a kimono exposing his masculine shoulders was the one and only Hatake Kakashi, the copy ninja.

"Why did you do it?" Iruka asked softly.

"I overheard the villagers…"

"What about them?"

"They were talking about you…"

"What did they say?"

"Just," Kakashi choked on a sob as a tear slid down, " things about how Iruka should find himself a decent girl, get married and have little Uminos running around. But, no, instead -gasp!- he's walking around with the Copynin, …he deserves better." Iruka had taken the liberty to approach Kakashi from behind and kiss the milky shoulder and was pleased to hear a sudden gasp, but he was also taken by surprise by what he heard.

"What do they know? They know nothing about me."

"But it's true, you do deserve better! All the villagers are sayin-,"

"Saying what?! That I deserve better than you? That I need a wife and kids?! And you of all people are agreeing with them!?! Do- " Iruka didn't want to ask but he had to know.

"Do you want to break it off?" He asked sadly.

The tears were running freely down Kakashis' face, he shook his head softly and replied, "No."

Sighing in relief, Iruka gathered Kakashi in his arms to lie down on the bed and asked, "Then, what do we do?" Iruka kissed the silvernettes' forehead tenderly.

"Nothing, I… I don't want to let you go, but you really do deserve better"

"Kakashi, there is absolutely no one better than you, for me."
