"Doctor, I think you should wake up."

"Mmm, later…"

"Don't give me later! Just wake up!"

"Ngh… 'm tired, Romana. Go'way."

"I'm not Romana!"

"Peri, I think it's best that we leave him alone," the Tardis' voice echoed in the girl's mind. "He's just been through a series of very traumatic events, and I think it may take longer for him to recover from his regeneration."

"And how long do you think that'll take?" Peri asked, begrudgingly leaving the Doctor's room so he could sleep in peace.

"I'm not sure," the Tardis said. Peri supposed that if the Tardis had shoulders, she would've shrugged. "At this rate, I'd estimate about five hours or so."

Before she knew it, she found herself in the console room. Peri plopped down on a chair and blew her bangs out of her face. "Okay," she muttered, annoyed. "So what do we do until then?"

"I don't know," The Tardis answered. "Maybe we could just… talk?"

Peri smiled a bit. "Okay, what do you want to talk about?"

---Five Hours Later---

The Doctor entered the kitchen, yawning slightly. "Good morning, Peri," he said, waving in her direction.

"So you're finally awake, huh?" Peri said hotly. "It's about time."

"Well that's a funny way to greet someone who's only just recovered from what could've been a catastrophe," the Doctor remarked, sitting down in the chair opposite to her.

"And whose fault is that?" Peri shot back at him.

The Doctor stared coldly at her. "Are you talking about the whole regeneration thing?" he asked rhetorically. "You know full well that it couldn't have been avoided. I did what I had to do. I saved your life, in case you don't recall!"

"And not a half-hour later, you tried to kill me!" Peri shouted. "And it never occurred to you once to even apologize, now did it?!"

He seemed taken aback for a brief moment. He looked at the floor. "I'm sorry," he muttered, low enough that the average person couldn't hear.

But Peri had sharp ears. "You know what, Doctor?" she said. "You're a tsundere."

The Doctor suddenly snapped out of his reverie. "A tsundere, am I?" he asked, mock defensively.

"Yes you are," Peri stated almost triumphantly.

The Doctor took a moment to contemplate this. He then looked Peri right in the eyes and said, "Peri, what is a tsundere?"

She looked rather surprised. "You don't know?"

"I know, very well, Peri," the Doctor stated with a small smirk on his mouth. "I'm just not sure if you know."

They stared long and hard at eachother for a moment. Seeing that the American was at a loss for words, the Doctor smiled smugly and laughed a bit.

Peri sighed, annoyed. "Well, if it'll take the heat off of me those aren't my words. They're the Tardis's."

"The Tardis said that?" the Doctor asked, surprised.

"Yeah, we had a little chat while you were sleeping."

The Doctor looked up at the ceiling. "I thought you were on my side," he said, sounding angry even though he wasn't.

"Am I in trouble?" the Tardis asked in false nervousness.

Ignoring the eye roll from Peri, the Doctor continued. "I'll tell you what, old girl. There's a table right here with no waffles on it…"
