We had to write sonnets for my English class so I decided to do mine about my favorite Tudor queen. I'm not so sure of it since it was my first attempt at ryhming in a long time, but I hope that you enjoy it.

Our words were always hushed as we talked of her.

Though I cannot say that it was out of fear.

The second wife of that ungrateful cur.

If she were alive now I believe I would consider her a peer.

We respect her although thousands do not.

It can be difficult to discover the truth beyond the fables.

I wish she was not placed in her grave so early to rot.

It was not her fault her that her marriage was never truly stable.

We have devoured the books that we can find that speak of her life.

There are some that claim that she was nothing but a beldam.

The woman who refused to take the title of mistress when she wanted that of wife.

So she won the heart of the king with her ever flowing charm.

Never will she fade from our hearts.

For none of the successors to her place were ever as great.
