Tanith - Derived from Semitic roots meaning "serpent lady". This was the name of the Phoenician goddess of love, fertility, the moon and the stars.
Valkyrie - Chooser Of The Slain
Skulduggery - underhanded, dishonest, or deceptive behavior or actions.
Ghastly – shockingly frightful or dreadful
Fletcher - Maker of arrows
China – Guess, smarty-pantz
My reckoning of the names
Tanith – Where did "Serpent Lady" come from?? I'm sorry, but now I just have this disturbing mental image of Tanith all scaly with a snakes lower body and a human torso. With a bow and arrow and a sword. Which is weird.
Valkyrie – Nice. Simple. Cool. I knew the name even before I read Skul Pleaz. But the name is oddly fitting, when I found out the definition, the rest of my dark days sorta played out. Good un, Mr Landy! (way better than serpent lady)
Skulduggery – HA! It would be the same if he had been called "crime"! But I guess, sinse he's a skeleton and a trouble-make skulduggery fits better
Ghastly – well, that was obvious from the beginning, and the reason even more so.
Fletcher - … wha-? Maker of arrows? Is he the dude who makes serpent lady's arrows? (oh, god, I have such a sick mind for the mental image I just got!) or is it some tricky clue Landy left us for our Mr. Renn? I guess we're gonna find out!
China – by her description she reminds me of a porcelain doll my grandad gave me. And sinse she couldn't exactly be called porcelain, china was good enough (fragile looking stuff, porcelain & china)
So there you go. If you've ever wondered what some of these names mean (except for china and ghastly, I mean, hello) but haven't been bothered to find out, this is the place to go. Anyways, if you've got a Skul Pleaz name you want look-
ZOMG THE RADIO IS PLAYING A Michael Jackson song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!
