'Rose POV

I just stood there and let his fists repeatedly pound into my body. I knew I would be bloody and sore – possibly even dead – after, but yet I couldn't move. My body was locked in place at the sight of hate and anger in his eyes and somehow I knew they were aimed at me. I didn't know what I had done wrong and I couldn't stop what ever it was. I was frozen. I couldn't move, I just stood there, watching myself bleed, tasting my own blood in my move.

I heard the gym doors slam open but Dimitri didn't stop, he just kept hitting me harder and harder until I was sure that I would be dead by the end of this.

"ROSE!" I heard a girl scream. My head turned slightly to see who it was and through my hazy vision I could just make a petite blond figure. Lissa's figure. I heard her scream again and I felt Dimitri stop hitting me and turn towards her. My body couldn't stay up any longer and I fell to the ground gasping in pain. I bought my hands up to my face and when I pulled them away I saw blood – a lot of blood. Tears streaked down my face as I wondered why Dimitri was so upset and why he did this to me.

I looked up to see Lissa standing over me, whispering my name, and Dimitri just looking at me, hate and rage still in his eyes. My head was pounding and I started to see black spots. My eyes started drooping down and I felt someone shake me.

"Please stay awake Rose," I heard Lissa whisper. I ignored her letting my eyes droop shut. "ROSE!"

"I love you," I whispered, slowly letting darkness take me. "Both of you," I added as I let sleep take over.

Lissa POV

I walked into the Gym, looking for Rose to tell her the great news. As I walked in I saw Rose standing in the middle of the gym with blood covering her and Guardian Belikov repeatedly punching her.

"ROSE!" I screamed. Rose's head turned towards me slightly but Guardian Belikov kept punching her. I screamed again and Guardian Belikov stopped punching her, turning towards me. There was hate and rage in his eyes and I wondered what happened very briefly before I turned towards Rose.

She was sitting on the floor gasping in quite obvious pain. She put her hands to her face and pulled them back with blood covering them. I rushed over to her, and started to whisper her name, quietly crying myself. Her eyes started to close and I started to shake her lightly, worried if she closed her eyes they may never open again.

"Please stay awake Rose," I whispered. She closed her eyes fully and I yelled her name again, in fear of losing my best friend, my sister.

"I love you," she whispered, "Both of you." Her eyes squeezed shut and she stopped breathing. I turned towards Guardian Belikov standing there just looking at Rose with pure hate. I couldn't wonder what that was about now, I was worried about Rose.

"HELP HER!" I screamed, "GET HER TO THE CLINIC." He reacted quickly, picking her body up harshly. As we ran outside, I heard gasps all around us and whispers stating. I ignored them and ran right behind Guardian Belikov following him into the clinic. He set Rose down on a bed and stormed out the door, not even worrying about his student.

Nurses ran in quickly and I pushed out of the room, but I couldn't help wondering, what Rose meant by "Both of you."

First Chapter is finished. Why was Dimitri so mad?
