DRIVING LESSONS

Hermione Weasley was the kind of person who was always in control. At work, at home... Everywhere she went, people just seemed to obey her orders. That was why she found this day in particular very surprising.

She was sitting in the dining room of her house, working on some Ministry documents. Her kids were at their grandparents and she was prepared for a quiet evening. That was, of course, until her husband walked in.

"I want to take driving lessons," said Ron Weasley, not taking 'no' for an answer.

Apparently, Hermione didn't know that.

"No, Ron," she said, with just a hint of annoyance in her voice. "We've already had this conversation. Driving a car is much harder than flying one. You won't be able to do it."

Ron scoffed and clicked his tongue.

"I see how much faith you have in me."

Hermione rubbed her temples. Finally, she placed the documents aside and looked up at him.

"You know it's not that, Ron. You've lived your entire life in the Wizarding world. It would just be too great of a change. You'd probably have to Confund the examiner."

Ron sat down and pouted.

"Pretty please, Hermione?"

"NO!"

Ron sighed and got up.

"All right, all right," he said as he walked out of the room."

Hermione smiled affectionately, shook her head and continued working. A few seconds later, Ron's head appeared in the doorway once again. Hermione sighed. He wasn't going to give up, was he?

"What now?" she asked visibly annoyed. Why couldn't he understand that she wasn't going to change her mind?

Ron grinned and walked into the room.

"No sex for a week" he said mischievously.

Yes, Hermione Weasley was the kind of person who was always in control, but it seemed her husband wouldn't let her have the upper hand in this case.

"What?!" she asked, not believing her ears. He wouldn't dare contradict her!

"You heard me" he said confidently. "I'll sleep on the couch and you won't be getting any for a whole week."

Hermione frowned; like she was going to back down just like that!

"Fine!" she said. "I don't have to 'get any', as you put it, for a week. I'm not as sex-obsessed as you are!"

Ron shrugged.

"Suit yourself" he said and walked out of the room.

Smug bastard, Hermione thought. She could almost hear him counting in his head. One, two, three, four…

"All right, all right!" she shouted, disappointed in herself. "You can take the bloody lessons!"

Ron walked back into the room, clearly relieved.

"Thank you, darling, I knew you'd say that" he said, while walking towards her.

He kissed her and walked out of the room.

"I still think you'll have to Confund the examiner!" she yelled lamely after him.
