The Star

Once upon a time there was a young prince called Aaron. He wanted to win the heart of the young Emily, who was the most beautiful maiden in land. Her hair was long and as dark as the night sky. Her eyes were big and brown and looking into them was like looking into to bottomless holes. Her lips were red as blood and her smile as bright as the sun, but she was not only beautiful, she was also funny and very smart. And every time Aaron was around her he only fell more and more in love with her, and he wanted to spend the rest of his lift with her. But Emily had had her heart broken one too many times before and was therefore not sure if Aaron was really true to his words. So Aaron decided to do everything in his power to prove to her that he loved her more than anything and would never leave her. He just did not know how.

One night when they were out walking hand in hand they saw a beautiful shooting star fly across night sky. Aaron pulled Emily's hand to his lips, kissed it and said, "To prove to you that I really love I will catch a falling star for you."

"No one can catch a falling star," Emily said as she looked at him with a small smile stroking his cheek.

"I can because I love you. Just wait and see." And the same night Aaron left the kingdom in search for a star to his Emily.

After many days of searching, Aaron decided to ask the night sky for help. He sat down on a big rock and tilted his head back and looked up into the sky and yelled as loud as he could, "Night sky: Sweet darkness, decorated in glow, illuminated with beauty, listening to grief, witness of mistakes, away from all, yet sees all. I am asking for your help." But nothing happened. Aaron sighed and his chin fell to his chest, but just then he heard a low giggle. He looked around to see where the sound was coming from, but he could not see anyone. The giggle became higher and higher and all of the sudden two small children were standing in front of him. They were both glowing like the stars. One was a small girl with long blond hair, the other was a boy slightly taller when the girl and with brown hair.

Aaron looked at them curiously and asked, "Who are you?"

"I am Spence and this is Jenny," the boy said and nodded his head toward the girl, "and we are the children of the night sky."

Jenny did a pirouette which made her glow even more and took three dancingly steps closer to Aaron and ask, "You asked for our help, so how may we help you?"

"I want to catch a falling star to prove to my Emily what I will always love her." Aaron looked at them. "Can you please help me?"

Smiling the children looked at each other and then at Aaron. "We can help," Jenny said. "All you have to do is climb the tallest tower in the kingdom, and then we will let one of our stars fall to you."

Aaron was just about to thank them when he heard a sound behind him and turned towards it. Nothing was there so he turned back only to see that the children were gone.

Aaron quickly started his journey back home to the kingdom in search for the tallest tower. As he reached town Emily ran to meet him and she wrapped her arms around his neck hugging him tightly. He smile and said, "When the night falls I will have the star for you."

So when the darkness fall upon the kingdom, he climbed to the top of the tallest tower and just as the children had said a star started fall down from the sky. He caught it, but unfortunately he was so excited he dropped it, and it smashed into pieces. So he frantically put it back together to prove his undying love to Emily. And he succeeded, and they lived happily ever after.
