Starring: Toph/Terra

Author's Note: … a "what if" scenario. Because evil Terra would be upset to see somebody move dirt with relative ease.

Summary: She could smell the envy curling right out of the other bender's skin. Toxic.

Terra had no idea where she'd come from. It was as if the very earth had spit her out of the ground.

She was impossibly small and impossibly large. Terra had curled around a boulder that she had unsuccessfully tried to hurl across the clearing just over an hour ago and watched. She seemed so unbothered that she obviously didn't belong, really, who dressed like that these days?

And what was with the pom-poms on her head?

But… she was beautiful. She moved solidly, with such connection to the ground. Each movement was assured and confident that the ground would work in harmony with her demands. The dirt rippled like water, boulders hovered like gnats and her face remained serene. Terra noticed the glazed eyes and felt another surge of greedangerfearhate run through her.

It was like being with the Titans. Only this pipsqueak was topping her at her own game.

Toph knew what had happened. Somebody had irritated Hei Bei but she felt confident in Aang's ability to sweet talk to get her back. If her beloved earth had been different then there would have been cause to panic. But it was not so she was waiting for that pole over there to stop staring and do something. She could smell the envy curling right out of the other bender's skin. Toxic.

Dangerous.

Shifting, she turned to face this stranger and proceeded to wait. One doesn't become an Earth-bending Master on strength alone and Toph had a feeling that this character was not strong, not wise and not patient.

Terra grew angry at the intruder for her intimacy with the earth. For her own inability to gain control. She disliked greatly how the other terrakinetic waited for her with a small smirk.

Well. She'd never see the boulder flying through the air.

Could she?
