A/N: First Matsuda/Sayu on this account. I wrote so many Death Note drabble because I was so inspired.

Theme: Breathe Again

The first thing Sayu said after she had been silent for so long surprised almost everyone. Sachiko was, as usual, sitting with her tragic daughter when it happened. The girl who had barely moved and not spoken once in months opened her mouth and spoke.

"Matsuda…"

"S-Sayu?" Her mother jumped to her side. "Sayu, did you…speak?"

"Matsuda…" she repeated. And she continued to say it, kept repeating the name of the man.

He had visited her multiple times, always talking to her despite the fact that she would never respond, never talk back to him. He got to where he came every day the exact same time, leaving at the exact same time, but one day…he left early, in a hurry, and hadn't been back since.

Sachiko didn't know what he would talk to her about. She always left them alone because she knew that he was deeply in love with her. Even though she had once said she would never let her daughter marry a cop, she knew just much Sayu meant to him.

So thought most people were surprised that she was saying his name, Sachiko definitely was not and immediately called him. "Matsuda, she's speaking and she's-" He had hung up and left before she even finished and was there very quickly.

"Go see her, she's saying your name."

"Matsuda," Sayu said, as if in response to something, "I love you too. And I want to be the one who kisses this time."

And she was.
