"Stop being such a baby, Ed."

"But you're killing me!"

"I am not, you're just whining because you like the attention."

"Ow! I don't like this kind of – ouch – attention!"

"But you do like attention, right?"

Edward craned his head to look at her, lower lip poking out, brows furrowed. "Whuh?"

"I mean, everyone likes attention. And you, Ed," Winry thumped his skull with her forefinger, "have to like it a lot."

"Dammit, Winry, that – what's that's supposed to mean?"

"It means you're complaining to make me think you don't like me brushing your hair." Winry picked at a knot of hair, grinning when the tangle yielded to her nimble fingers. "But if you really hated it, you wouldn't ask me to do it."

She could almost hear Edward's pout, it was so dramatic. "I thought – nng! – you liked brushing my hair."

It was as much of an admission as Winry was likely to get. Finger combing through his hair, feeling the tension bleeding out of Edward's body as he gave in to the pampering, she smiled. "I do."
