Five times Joey reminded Jim of Spock and one time he was Joey

1.

Joey was three and Jim was speaking in Vulcan to the little boy. 'Mommy, you mispronounced that word.' The boy informed Jim. Jim recalled all the times Spock had corrected him, but Jim smiled to Joey, 'Thank you, love.'

'Mommy,' Jim looked at his little boy 'I want a Vulcan hair cut, please.' Jim smiled and got the boy the haircut. As Jim looked at the boy he noticed that, if not for his blue eyes, he would look exactly like Spock, at least he didn't, not like Jim, look exactly like his father, Jim was glad of Joey's blue eyes, at least he'd be able to separate the two loves of his life.

'Mommy, it's silly to love someone who doesn't love us.' Joey told his crying mother as he sat on his lap hugging him. 'I know, baby, but it's hard to hate your father when he gave me you.' Jim smiled a little. 'I suppose your reasonings are logical.' The boy said, nodding. Jim's smile glowed a bit brighter because Joey sounded almost just like Spock.

By four Joey was reading, writing, and doing other high school work. Jim smiled a little bit bitterly because Joey was as smart as his father.

Joey was holding his hands together, 'Mommy, looky, looky, looky what I found!' he yelled. Jim looked at his child 'It's a birdy!' the child said, grinning and opening his hands. 'His name is Pavel, like in your stories.'
