A/N: This chapter will be slightly repetitive as it follows the perspective of Esme, Lulu and one of the children – I won't say which, you can read and find out!

Finally. Its finished. I would like to note that I am quite displeased with this chapter but I really wanted to get something out. I will definitely edit this when the inspiration hits me, and I am unsure if I will add an epilogue at this point in time. If you are desperate to read about what happens later on, or anything in particular, drop a review or PM and let me know, and I'll do my best to post it in an epilogue or in the form of an outtake or two.

Chapter 21

Sunday

Esme POV

It was time. Gerald and I were ready to go, my bags were all packed and the children were looking at us with tears in their eyes, in fact, Camilla was actually crying. The children had been begging Gerald and I if they could accompany us to the parent's meeting. It was usually an adults only meeting but I still tried to persuade the producer who was with us.

"I'm sorry Esme, but it's against regulations, the children can't accompany us," he said when I asked.

It wasn't until Gerald and I were actually getting into the car about twenty minutes later that we were given some interesting information. The producer had been standing off to the side, having a conversation with someone on a cell phone and he suddenly bounded over to us.

"Esme, Gerald. I've just been informed by the producer who is with Carlisle and Lulu that due to some special circumstances, your children Esme, will all be accompanying their father and its only fair that your kids have the opportunity to come along too Gerald."
As soon as the producer said 'special circumstances' I knew my children had orchestrated it and I was secretly glad because I wouldn't have to wait as long as I would have, to see them.

"Children, are you coming or not?" Gerald called out. Mark, Bert and Camilla all looked at us in shock before rushing towards the car and clambering in.

We were driving to the airport and the trip was quite long, so I settled in for what I was pretty sure a clichéd car trip would be: nagging, yelling, arguing and lots of stopping. I was wrong though, these kids were pretty good, talking quietly or looking out the windows and we only stopped once. I sat back and stared out the window, remembering the sweet moment I had had with Bert earlier that morning.

~oOo~

"Esme?" I heard Bert call me from the staircase and I noticed he sounded surprisingly lucid considering he was supposed to have just woken up.

"I'm in the kitchen Bert," I replied softly. "Would you like me to cook you some breakfast?" I asked him as he entered the room.

"Sure thanks."

I set to work, mixing the batter for pancakes, scrambling eggs and cooking bacon.

"Was there something you wanted to talk about Bert?" I asked him gently. I noticed he was biting his lip, much like Bella had as a human when she was nervous.

"Um, not really," he said and I frowned. I was sure he had been worried about something. "I uh, wanted to give you something though," he added.

I cleaned my hands on a dishtowel and set down a plate in front of him, before giving him my entire attention.

Bert handed me a large, rolled up piece of paper and I opened it slowly.

"I drew it for you," Bert told me as I looked at it. If I could have, I think I would have cried.

"Bert, its beautiful," I said. He had drawn a picture of my entire family – Carlisle and I sitting on chairs surrounded by our children. "But how did you draw this, I never showed you any photos of us?" I asked.

"You described them though, and I just used that. Are they okay?" Bert asked me nervously.

Okay was an understatement. He had captured Rosalie's beauty, Alice's energy, Emmett's strength, Bella's fragility, Renesmee's youth, Jacob's happiness, Edward's reserve, Jasper's slight anguish and frustration. He had even captured Carlisle's considerate nature in his posture and expression, though I had no idea how.

"Bert, it's absolutely perfect. You are going to be an amazing artist one day," I assured him.

"You really think so?" he asked me.

"Really."

~oOo~

The plane ride wasn't too long, considering, we spent more time in the car than we did on the plane and all three children were ecstatic about experiencing their first ever flight. By the time we were at the airport, and I was collecting my luggage, Gerald, Mark and Camilla had gone with a cameraman to the car waiting to take us to the meeting place.

"I'm really excited to meet your family Esme, they all sound really interesting," Bert said.

"Interesting is definitely one way to describe them," I chuckled as I grabbed my bags. "Let's go."

The drive to the meeting place was short, only ten minutes and I was almost bouncing in my seat with excitement.

When we arrived, Gerald and I were ushered into a separate room.

'Please have a seat, Dr Cullen and Mrs McClain will be arriving shortly. Apparently there was a slight delay with their flight," the producer informed us. Gerald and I sat down at the large desk in the middle of the room, waiting quietly as the cameramen set up and we all waited for Carlisle and Lulu to arrive.

It was only a short time before my vampire ears picked up the familiar sounds of a disturbance a fair ways a way and it wasn't long before I could clearly hear the voices of my children.

"I already said I was sorry, Emmett, I didn't even see her, I swear," Alice whined.

"That's enough you two," Lulu snapped at them. I felt anger rise inside of me, and struggled to maintain a bored expression.

"Now children this is as far as you can go, through that door is a room you can wait in. Dr Cullen, Mrs McClain please follow me this way," I heard an unfamiliar voice say. More loud noises and banging told me that my children were doing as told as noisily as they could and a few seconds later, the door knob was turning. My entire body tensed in anticipation and as soon as the door opened, I only had eyes for Carlisle. I made my way over to him as fast as possible and we embraced in a large, surely bone crushing hug if we were humans. I was hardly aware of anyone else in the room as I buried my head in my husbands shoulder, vowing never to leave again for so long.

"How were the children?" I asked, quietly enough so no humans could hear.

"They were as good as can be expected. They did not like Lulu though, be prepared," Carlisle responded.

I was prepared though, after spending two weeks with her family, I knew exactly why my children didn't like her. As we pulled apart, Gerald and Lulu doing the same, we turned to face the other couple across the table from us.

"Hello, Mrs McClain, my name is Esme, it's so nice to finally meet you," I said as I extended my hand towards her. I watched as shock was replaced with something akin to disdain on Lulu's face, before my warm smile melted her resolve a little and she smiled politely back. Though she didn't take my outstretched hand.

"Nice, to meet you," Lulu said with a tight-lipped smile.

"Let's get down to business shall we?" Gerald said and we all took our seats around the table. There was an awkward silence as we all waited for someone to start and when it seemed evident no one was going to, I cleared my throat.

"Lulu. I just wanted to say that I really liked your children. Milly, Mark and Bert are incredibly smart, beautiful, compassionate people and I really enjoyed getting to know them," I smiled at Lulu. "But I do however feel that you ask too much of them and don't give them the chance to be teenagers and make mistakes and learn about who they are."
"I ask too much of them?" Lulu snapped. "When I ask them to take care of their appearance, and do some simple chores around the house?"

"I think that you don't allow the children the opportunity to–" I began, but was cut off by Lulu's enragement.

"Not only do I not ask too much of my children, I have taught them to be self-sufficient and considerate, which is more than I can say for those heathens you have in your house."

In that moment, I saw red. No one, and I mean no one, is allowed to bad mouth my family. Just as I was about to open my mouth to tell Lulu exactly what I thought of her, we were interrupted by the sounds of arguing coming closer and closer from the hallway behind the closed door.

"I did not," I heard the sound of my eldest son's indignant voice seconds before the door slammed opened and in spilled my eight children, all bickering amongst each other before I cleared my throat and they all stopped at once.

"MUM!" they all shouted and raced forward, nearly knocking over the table as they crowded around me, each trying to hug me. I only managed to give Jasper, Emmett and Renesmee brief hug and kiss before Lulu started tapping her foot on the floor furiously. "Not even supposed to be here," I heard her mutter under her breath. "Don't see my children interrupting an adult conversation."

"Jasper quit trying to push me away," Bella said. "You already gave mum a hug the rest of us want one too."

"Yeah," Rose added indignantly. And another argument ensued. It was far too loud and they didn't seem angry enough for it to be real though, so I assumed they were doing this for Lulu's benefit.

"You see; this is the behaviour that I had to put up with the entire time?" Lulu snapped angrily.

"Really?" I feigned surprise. "They listened to you and stopped arguing when you asked them to?" I asked, knowing full well they did not. "Children I'm so proud o–" I was cut off midsentence by Lulu.

"No they did not!" she said angrily, her face so red I was surprised there wasn't steam billowing out of her ears.

"Not once over the entire fortnight did they listen to a word I said. And not only did they not listen to me, they were rude and disobedient and went out of their way to do the opposite of what I said. Not to mention your daughter Renesmee, I never thought I'd say this about any child, but that girl is unteachable," Lulu ranted.

"That's only because your teaching sucks." I heard Nessie pipe up from behind her large bulky brothers.

"Renesmee Carlie Cullen, apologise at once," I said.

"But mum," she grumbled as she pushed her way forward and into my eyesight. "I don't want to. And you always said never to lie," she added.

"An omission of information isn't technically a lie," Alice piped up.

"Yes it is," Ness replied defiantly.

"No, its not, I do it at school all the time when the teacher's an idiot and I don't say so," Emmett added.

"You see? And this is only a fraction of what I had to deal with," Lulu said angrily to her husband, who she failed to notice was trying desperately to hold in a laugh.

"Alright, that's enough," I said in my commanding tone and the children immediately stopped. "I want all of you to go and wait out in the other room with the McClain children and do not break anything," I added, my tone holding a sense of finality to it.

"Yes mum," they all mumbled and turned to shuffle out of the room. As soon as the door was closed behind them, Carlisle and I both turned to face the couple on the other side of the table.

"That's how it's done," I said. "Shall we continue?"

Lulu POV

It was 7:30 in the morning and I was already at my wits end. I had packed last night before I went to bed so I wouldn't have much to do today and all Carlisle and I would have to was get dressed, eat breakfast and leave. A loud crashing sound emanated from the living room and it took all my effort not to stat pulling my hair out. Of course these devil children wouldn't make my last morning here easy. I finished changing and left the quiet of my bedroom and went to greet these children for the last time.

"What's going on in here?" I snap immediately on edge, positive that they have planned some sort of bon voyage argument for me.

"We were making an obstacle course," Emmett said. I looked around the room at the couch cushions, mattresses and pillows strewn everywhere. "If you touch the floor, you die. Last one in wins."

"Will you pack this away right now? Your father and I have to leave in less than 2 hours, and I doubt your mother would be pleased to come home to this mess," I snapped.

"But we only just finished setting it up," Renesmee whined.

"I don't care, I want this stuff packed away before we leave and I have no–" I was cut off by a scream coming from upstairs. That scream was unlike any I had heard before, a mixture of fear and excruciating pain. My experience with these children told me they were mucking around again so I slowly made my way up the stairs to investigate when Carlisle shot out of his office running towards Rosalie's room with a deeply troubled look on his face. That look combined with his speed allowed a feeling on unease to settle in my stomach and I quickened my pace up the stairs. What I saw when I reached Rosalie's bedroom door was not at all what I had expected. She was huddled in the corner of the room, hair as messy as if she hadn't brushed it for weeks, face red and splotchy, chest heaving and tears pouring down her face. Carlisle was crouched down a few metres away from her murmuring softly as if trying to calm her.

"It's rude to stare," I jumped even though the words had only been spoken softly. I turned slightly to see Bella. She didn't appear angry or hostile, which I expected, only calm as she studied me with an indecipherable expression. She walked past me and as she did, she closed Rosalie's door softly.

"Kinda freaks you out right?" She asked. "Seeing her like that."

"Whats wrong with her?" I asked.

Bella frowned, her demeanour instantly changing. "Wrong with her? She's not insane okay? Trauma does things to you and she's been getting better, this is her first episode in like a year, okay. You don't ever get to say someone's crazy. Especially when you don't know everything about them, got it?" Bella almost snarled.

"I'm sorry," I mumbled.

"No you're not, you couldn't care less. You hate us and you can't wait to get out of here, but no one deserves to go through what Rose has gone through and is still going through." Bella stormed off into her room.

I made my way back down the stairs in a daze, wondering what the hell had just happened. I sat at the counter in the kitchen absentmindedly stirring a cup of coffee.

"I know what you're thinking?" I was startled once again this time by Edward, even though he had spoken quietly.

"What?" I snapped at him, I was in no mood to be played with by these children.

"I know what you're thinking," Edward repeated. "You're wondering what's going on with Rose."

"Yes," I said, "So what?" I kept snapping at him, all I wanted was to leave here and go home to my perfect house.

"Today's not going to be fun. It always takes her a while to recover from the flashbacks."

"What are you talking about?" I finally asked.

"We all come from troubled backgrounds, but Rose had it the worst. She was hurt a long time ago by someone she trusted. She has trouble coping with new people in her life and has found it very difficult to trust anyone else since," Edward explained. "I wouldn't be surprised if the meeting this afternoon is cancelled and has to be done tomorrow or something because Dad doesn't like leaving Rose alone when she's like this. Usually it's only him and mum that can get near her when she's like this. Even Emmett has to stay away, at least for a while."

I was confused at all this information and then my mind latched onto what Edward had just added.

"Wait, what was that about us leaving being postponed?" I said. "No way is that–" I was cut off as Carlisle entered the kitchen. "Lulu, I'm so sorry about this but I think that–" It was my turn to cut someone off now.

"No, absolutely not. I am not postponing anything until tomorrow, I have waited 14 very long days to go home to my own family and I do not want to wait any longer than I have to," I huffed.

Carlisle looked at me with a stony expression and I felt my stomach drop as I broke out into a sudden cold sweat at the look on his face.

"I'm so sorry that my traumatised daughter has derailed your plans," he said coolly, but all I was going to ask was if it was all right if we took the children with us. I don't feel comfortable leaving Rosalie alone while she's so vulnerable and I can guarantee the other children will want to come along too," Carlisle said.

"Oh," I said, my cheeks blushing. Only the children had spoken to me with such disdain, Carlisle had always been respectful towards me, until now. "That's fine," I added.

~oOo~

It was three hours later and we were at the airport. The children had cleaned up after themselves quicker than I had ever seen them and we had gotten out the door half an hour after Carlisle had spoken to the producers.

I knew Carlisle was angry with me when he asked me to ride with Emmett, Jacob, Jasper and Edward while he rode with the girls in his car. I had seen him gently guide Rose to the car, she was ghostly pale, which was saying something for this lot, and her eyes had a far away look about them.

When we arrived at the airport, the producer checked us all in and Carlisle steered Rosalie away to a quieter corner while everyone hung back, giving her plenty of space. Fortunately we didn't have a long time to wait before we could board and it took twenty minutes, five minutes before boarding, that I realised Emmett had disappeared.

I groaned, I was supposed to be keeping an eye on the children, as per Carlisle's request, as he stayed with Rosalie and I didn't want to get further on his bad side.

'Children, where is Emmett?" I asked.

"I don't know, you're the one in charge of watching us," Alice piped up.

Sick and tired of these children's attitudes I snapped back. " I shouldn't have to watch you, you're all old enough to be able to look after yourselves and know how to behave in public, Jasper and Edward that is enough," I said loudly as the two started wrestling each other.

"I would like to inform all passengers of flight UA2341 that we are experience a slight delay, we expect to begin boarding as soon as we can. United Airlines would like to apologise for any inconvenience." The delay was foreboding and I was hardly surprised when two men in suits approached Carlisle.

He stopped them before they reached a few metres from Rosalie and stood up to meet them. After warning the children to stay put, I stalked over to where Carlisle and the men were speaking. They stopped talking as soon as I approached.

"This is Agent Walker and Smith," Carlisle gestured to the men, the first with a stern face and the second who was easily seven feet tall.

"Ma'am, I need to ask you to step aside and give us some room, we need to speak with Dr Cullen privately," the tall agent said sternly.

"No it's fine, whatever you have to say, you can say in front of her," Carlisle said. I noticed he didn't use my name.

"All right Dr, I would like to ask, are you the legal guardian of Emmett McCarty?" the first Agent, Agent Walker asked.

"Yes, but it's Cullen now, my wife and I adopted him almost six years ago," Carlisle explained. "Where is he?"

"He is in police custody at the moment sir, he was detained as a result of impersonating a pilot and attempting to commandeer the aircraft you are about to travel on," Agent Smith informed us.

"Are you sure it was Emmett?" Carlisle asked, "I can't imagine him doing such a preposterous thing."

I snorted at that comment, loudly enough that both the agents and Carlisle heard me.

"You believe your son would do something like this?" Agent Walker asked me firmly.

"Oh, he's not my son. I'm Lulu McClain, we're participating on the reality show Wife Swap, at the moment, we're on our way to meet my husband and Mrs Cullen right now," I explained.

"Lulu, please go and watch the children while I deal with this," Carlisle asked me. "Alice, come and sit with your sister please," he called a little louder.

I realised I was being dismissed as both agents and Carlisle eyed me and I turned around and walked towards the rest of the Cullen children.

~oOo~

It was over an hour before Carlisle returned, Emmett trailing behind him with a scowl on his face and his arms crossed, and the Wife Swap producers following. Within 10 minutes of Carlisle and Emmett joining us, our flight was called for boarding and before I knew it, we were in the air.

Edward POV

Alice's plans for our final day with Lulu were epic and I had no idea how we were going to pull it off. Alice and Rosalie spent half the night in the bathroom applying the make-up Rose would need to look like she was having a panic attack and Alice had assigned Jasper the job of convincing Carlisle to let us do this. I could hear the two talking quietly in Carlisle's office.

"Jasper would you quit trying to manipulate my emotions, don't think I don't know what you're doing," Carlisle said, exasperated.

"Sorry," Jasper said sheepishly. "We all want to end this fortnight with a bang, this seems like a good way to do it and it's the only way we can think of the producers letting us come along, we miss Esme too," Jasper ended his plea softly and I could almost feel the longing Jasper was surely sending Carlisle right now.

"Fine, but the usual rules apply, no one gets hurt and I don't want to have to spend to much money on bailing Emmett out," Carlisle eventually agreed. "I don't know what's happened but over these last two weeks, I have been agreeing to things I never thought I ever would. That woman is so dislikeable though," Carlisle said.

"Thanks, we promise we'll be careful," Jasper promised as he left the room.

"Good work Jazzy," Alice called happily from the bathroom where she was still working on Rosalie's appearance.

Bella and Emmett were in his room, laying out the pilot uniform he would be wearing tomorrow when he attempted to commandeer the plane. It was a crazy idea, one that only Emmett could come up with and he was far too excited about it in my opinion. We had gone over the details earlier and decided that Emmett would be posing as 'the Cullen family pilot' the only pilot we supposedly trust. I have no idea how far Emmett will be able to go, but I will be surprised if he even makes it near the plane. The offence Emmett was about to commit was serious, but Alice assured us that because of his spotless record he would get off with a weeks worth of community service and Carlisle was going to offer to pay $10,000.

When Rose and Alice came out of the bathroom at about 6:00 in the morning, she looked almost unrecognisable. Alice had somehow considerably reddened her cheeks and made them look splotchy as though she had been crying and her hair was messier than I'd ever seen on even a human. She was wearing a long white nightgown, like she would have been wearing when she was still human, and she currently had fake tears running down her face.
"Looks good, huh?" Alice said.

"Wow." Was all I could say in response.

"I know right," Rose said, a grin on her face. Now we just have to wait until Lulu wakes up and then it's show time. I want to go see Emmett in his outfit first though," she added as she glided past me into the bedroom Bella and Emmett were still in.

~oOo~

At 7:30 Lulu woke up and we waited exactly 12 minutes before Emmett dropped a television remote loud enough that it would make Lulu come and check on us. Sure enough, she stormed into the room angrily and demanded to know what we were doing.

"We were making an obstacle course. If you touch the floor, you die. Last one in wins," Emmett explained.

"Will you pack this away right now? Your father and I have to leave in less than 2 hours, and I doubt your mother would be pleased to come home to this mess," Lulu snapped.

"But we only just finished setting it up," Ness whined theatrically.

"I don't care, I want this stuff packed away before we leave and I have no–"

Cue Rosalie's scream. Lulu's face paled before she decided that we were messing around with her, which we were, but she wouldn't know that. As Lulu began to ascend the stairs, Carlisle rushed out of his office towards Rose, like he had agreed to play along earlier. I heard Lulu stop in the doorway and her subsequent argument with Bella, before she headed back down the stairs and to the kitchen. I waited a few minutes before I entered after her.

"I know what you're thinking?" I said quietly. She jumped, startled and I smirked at my desired outcome being achieved.

"It took Lulu a few seconds to answer me but she eventually snapped "What?"

"I know what you're thinking," I repeated impatiently. "You're wondering what's going on with Rose."

"Yes, so what?" Lulu asked me crankily.

"Today's not going to be fun," I added. "It always takes her a while to recover from the flashbacks." And it had, when she first joined the family and before she had her revenge.

"What are you talking about?" Lulu asked me; finally giving in and asking for what was sure could count as gossip. How very un-Christian of her.

"We all come from troubled backgrounds, but Rose had it the worst. She was hurt a long time ago by someone she trusted. She has trouble coping with new people in her life and has found it very difficult to trust anyone else since. I wouldn't be surprised if the meeting this afternoon is cancelled and has to be done tomorrow or something because Dad doesn't like leaving Rose alone when she's like this. Usually it's only him and mum that can get near her when she's like this. Even Emmett has to stay away, at least for a while." Not true at all, but it gave us a reason to be separated from Rose at the airport so Emmett could go and sneak off.

"Wait, what was that about us leaving being postponed?" Of course all this woman is concerned about is going home to her 'perfect' family.

"No way is that–" Her angry protests were cut off as dad entered the room.

"Lulu, I'm so sorry about this but I think that–" Lulu cut him off rudely, and began ranting about how she didn't want to stay here a second longer than she had to.

Dad's eyes flashed angrily and I knew he was no longer playing along with us, he was truly furious. "I'm so sorry that my traumatised daughter has derailed your plans." Dad's compassionate side had taken over now. I too was disgusted at this woman's lack of concern for anyone but herself. "But all I was going to ask was if it was all right if we took the children with us. I don't feel comfortable leaving Rosalie alone while she's so vulnerable and I can guarantee the other children will want to come along too."

Properly chastised, Lulu looked down at the floor and agreed immediately with dad's proposal.

~oOo~

It wasn't long again before we were at the airport and the producers had checked us all in. Rose and dad were sitting slightly away from us in a corner, I could hear them chatting about how they couldn't wait to see mum again. Emmett took this chance to sneak off – Lulu was reading a newspaper.

Wish me luck bro, Emmett said in his head. He winked at us as he snuck off. I kept tabs on him, so I could update the others on what was going on.

"He's in his uniform now," I said at vampire speed so Lulu would hear us.

"He's approach the aircraft and now the pilots speaking to him. I continued to relay what I was hearing in Emmett's mind.

"Sir, can I see some ID please," an older man asked, clearly suspicious of Emmett having obviously never seen him around before.

"Sure buddy, here," Emmett agreed enthusiastically. He showed his fake pilot's ID to the man before proceeding towards the plane we would be boarding. He made his way onto the aircraft and towards the cockpit, where he encountered both the pilot and co-pilot conducting their pre-flight checks.

Emmett cleared his throat loudly to get their attention.

"Hello I'm Stan Walker, I'm the Cullen family's only trusted pilot, I'm going to be taking over from you boys today. I'm going to have to ask you to step of the aircraft so I can conduct my pre-flight checks before we leave today," Emmett said in a most professional tone, one I had rarely heard from him before.

"I'm sorry sir, but I haven't been informed of any other pilots taking over this flight, so I'm going to ask you to remove yourself from the cabin or I will call security," The pilot stated firmly, while the co-pilot looked on quizzically.

"I'm sorry sir, no can do, the Cullen family don't like to have anyone fly the aircraft they are on unless they have conducted extensive checks and of the three of us, I am the only one here who has been checked and vetted by Dr Cullen himself," Emmett insisted. "I am sure Dr Cullen will be happy to let you co-pilot with me, but I am to be in charge of this aircraft."
"Sir, I'm not going to ask you again, please remove yourself from the cabin," the pilot repeated himself.

"Sir, I can't do that I'm afraid," Emmett continued, but was interrupted. The pilot had reached for his radio and began calling for security. Within minutes, two armed men were escorting Emmett off the plane and leading him down a series of hallways ending in a room with a one way window and only a metal table and two chairs.

It was at that precise moment when a crisp female voice rang out through the airport. "I would like to inform all passengers of flight UA2341 that we are experience a slight delay, we expect to begin boarding as soon as we can. United Airlines would like to apologise for any inconvenience."

"Good job Emmett," Jasper said happily under his breath, as the same two agents approached Carlisle and Lulu walked over to meet them.

"Alright, we have over an hour to wait until this mess is cleared up while Carlisle speaks to the agents and negotiates over Emmett's punishment. The pilots also have to check the plane to make sure Emmett didn't tamper with everything. I have to go over and wait with Rose, keep everyone else updated Edward," Alice informed me. As soon as she had stopped speaking, Carlisle had called out for her to sit with Rose as he followed the agents back the way they came. She flitted over as Lulu simultaneously made her way back over to us.

"All of you will sit here quietly and wait for your father to return," she snapped as she sat down and promptly ignored us. I focused my mind on Carlisle's thoughts and followed his movements through the same hallways as Emmett; entering a room adjacent to the one Emmett was still being detained in.

"They have Carlisle in a viewing room, they're watching Emmett being questioned by an agent," I updated everyone.

Emmett was questioned, Carlisle was questioned and the entire process of ensuring that Emmett was not a terrorist, just an idiot teenager took over an hour. When Carlisle returned, with Emmett walking behind him, a forlorn look on his face, we heard the same crisp female voice letting all passengers know we could now begin boarding the plane.

We all lined up, the producer ahead of us with all our boarding passes.

"I am very disappointed in your appalling behaviour Emmett, I expect a lot better from you, when your mother returns we will be coming up with a suitable punishment for you," Carlisle said, his anger quite convincing.

"But dad," Emmett began to whine.

"No 'buts' Emmett."
"But–"

"I said no, Emmett."
"I was only trying to give Rose something to laugh about. I wanted to cheer her up," Emmett said sullenly.

Carlisle whipped his head around to face Emmett and studied him carefully. His expression softened slightly.

"Emmett, I appreciate that you wanted to do something for Rose to make her feel better after this morning, but that was not an appropriate way to go about it," Carlisle said.

"I cannot believe you're buying that load of rubbish," Lulu scoffed.

"Of course you think it's a load of rubbish you heartless bitch," Rose spoke her first words for the day a lot quieter than she normally would, continuing her façade, but her tone was firm and her eyes were hard. "I love you Emmett," Rose said and leaned towards Emmett, letting their foreheads touch gently as they looked into each other's eyes.

"Love you too," Emmett said softly. It was strange to hear that tone come out of such a big person.

Eventually we boarded the plane and not a second too soon the plane took off and we were finally travelling towards our destination.

When we landed we were rushed out of the airport and into three separate cars that took us to the Wife Swap headquarters where the parents would meet and discuss how the fortnight went.

"Alice why didn't you tell me that the flight attendant was there?" Emmett whined, blaming Alice for his 'complete lack of co-ordination'.

"I already said I was sorry, Emmett, I didn't even see her, I swear," Alice whined.

"That's enough you two," Lulu snapped crankily.

"Now children this is as far as you can go, through that door is a room you can wait in," the producer stated. "Dr Cullen, Mrs McClain please follow me this way.

I'm going to see Esme, was the only thought that was currently going through Carlisle's head.

I can finally get away from these children.

"I want to see mum," Bella said stubbornly as we proceeded towards the door the producer had pointed to as loudly as we could.

"Lulu's kids are going to be sitting on a couch in the far corner of the room, ignore them," Alice hissed. Jasper reached the door first and swung it open and we all spilled into the room.

"Look a TV! YAY" Emmett exclaimed.

"Emmett, you snuck a TV into your room five minutes after Lulu banned them, I don't know why you're so excited," Jake said rolling his eyes. We all pretended not to notice the three human teenagers gawking at us, though they made it pretty easy, the only sounds they made were their heartbeats.

"Oh look," Alice giggled and nodded towards the three teenagers. "You must be Lulu's children. We are so sorry, by the way," Alice said happily.

"Um, sorry for what?" the tallest boy asked perplexed.

"Oh, just sorry she's your mother. She's horrible. Do you all have to dress as badly as her?"

"Alice, have a little tact," Bella chided. "I'm Bella," she introduced herself. "This is Alice, Jasper, Edward, Jacob, Renesmee, Rosalie and Emmett."

"Hey, why'd you introduce me last?" Emmett immediately grumbled.

"Maybe I was saving the best till last," Bella placated him, rolling her eyes at me.

"What's you're names?"

"I'm Mark, this is Bert and this is Milly," the tallest boy introduced them all.

"Your mother's told us so much about you," Milly piped up. She blushed when all our heads swivelled towards her but she held her ground. She was pretty, in a delicate sort of way, reminding me a lot of Bella when she was a human.

"Only, good things I hope," Rosalie smiled, putting forth all her charm.

"Yes, you're very lucky, she's been so good to us," the middle boy, Bert, said.

"I can imagine anything seems good after living with your mother," Rose muttered under her breath, but still loud enough for everyone to hear. All three McClain's blushed.

"Rose," Bella snapped.

"No, she's right, mother is quite strict," Milly said. "We apologise, for whatever she did to you."

"You guys are just the sweetest," Alice squealed and she rushed forward and hugged Milly, who was taken aback.

We spoke to the teens and got to know them more, learning through their stories just how horrible and oppressing Lulu really was.

"Alright, I'm getting bored, I want to see mum," Alice grumbled.

"Me too," Bella said.

We all stood up and made our way to the door.

"Wait, you're not supposed to. The official meetings for the adults only," Bert said worriedly.

"Hey, rules were meant to be broken Bert," Jasper said.

"You coming?" Emmett asked as we filed out of the room. Unfortunately they were too nervous about getting in trouble, from their mother most likely, and stayed put.

We made sure to argue loudly so Lulu and her husband could hear us approach as well as mum and dad.

As soon as we were all in the room we simultaneously ran for mum to hug her. We really had missed her. Unfortunately, Lulu cut our reunion short so only Jasper, Emmett and Renesmee were able to get hugs

"Jasper quit trying to push me away," Bella said. "You already gave mum a hug the rest of us want one too."

"Yeah," Rose added indignantly. We started bickering again, just to annoy Lulu for not letting us have a proper reunion with our mother.

"You see; this is the behaviour that I had to put up with the entire time?" Lulu snapped angrily.

"Really?" Mum feigned surprise. "They listened to you and stopped arguing when you asked them to?" We were all delighted that mum was going along with us, she must hate this woman almost as much as we do. "Children I'm so proud o–" Mum was cut off midsentence.

"No they did not!" Lulu began her rant.

"That's only because your teaching sucks." Nessie said.

"Renesmee Carlie Cullen, apologise at once," Mum admonished her.

"But mum, I don't want to. And you always said never to lie," she added. True.

"An omission of information isn't technically a lie," Alice supplied.

"Yes it is," Ness replied defiantly.

"No, its not, I do it at school all the time when the teacher's an idiot and I don't say so," Emmett added.

"You see? And this is only a fraction of what I had to deal with," Lulu said angrily to her husband,

"Alright, that's enough," Mum eventually stopped what could easily devolve and we all stopped bickering at once. "I want all of you to go and wait out in the other room with the McClain children and do not break anything," she ordered us.

"Yes mum," we all mumbled and left the room obediently.

The last thing we heard as we made our way back to the room where we were instructed to wait was: "That's how it's done. Shall we continue?" Mum said, a hint of pride in her voice.

"How did it go?" Bert asked eagerly as we re-entered the room.

"Alright, we got to see mum at least," Renesmee said happily.

"Of course you're happy Ness, we didn't even get a hug," Alice said.

Renesmee, my ever-mature daughter poked her tongue out at her aunt.

Everyone eventually began chattering away to each other, and we told the McClain entertaining stories about growing up in a big family. I was barely paying attention to what was going on around me, instead, I was trying to focus on how the meeting was going. I was focusing on dad, only because mum had warned me not to eavesdrop. I don't know how she knew I was listening in, though. Mostly though, the meeting was comprised of Lulu yelling angrily about how horrible her time had been and how we had 'made her experience a living hell', were her exact words. I once tried to listen in to Lulu's husbands mind, to see what he thought of all of this and I was surprised by what I had heard. I had just assumed that Lulu's husband would have been just as bad as she was, but he was the opposite.

These kids sound hilarious; I'm almost sure most of what Lulu's describing was done on purpose to get a reaction. Hopefully she'll see just how fabulous she's got it with our children. Maybe she'll lighten up a little. Nah, probably not, he had been thinking.

It was what could be considered an excruciatingly long time – for a human – before the meeting was over and the producers of the show were informing us that they wanted to film our reunion. All of us, including the three McClain's were led down a series of hallways and directed towards two different doorways. Our reunions were separate which means it was unlikely we would see Lulu again. Thankfully.

"It was very nice to meet you," Rose said politely to the three of them, turning on the charm for the boys, who looked stunned, but I know Rose found Milly quite endearing. Like a baby sister she never had.

"It was nice to meet you too," Bert said for all of them.

"Don't forget you have our phone numbers and emails, don't forget okay?" Alice demanded.

"Okay," Milly agreed, giggling.

With that, we separated and went to see our parents.

"Mummy," Renesmee squealed, as she barrelled into the room and nearly bowled Esme over.

"Hello sweetie," Esme said as she hugged her tightly. "I missed you all so much," she exclaimed happily. I have no doubt that had she been human, Esme would have tears pouring down her face. This time, we all got a hug and kiss on the cheek, the girls lingering longer than Emmett, jasper, Jacob and I.

"Now, before we go, please tell me," Esme began. "How many things did you break?"

"Well," Emmett began sheepishly.

"Emmett," Rose hissed. "Not a thing mum," she smiled.

"I don't believe you for a second. Bella?" Esme asked, going to the one person she knew would tell the truth.

"Um, well, we replaced everything we broke straight away I promise," Bella managed to side step.

Esme pretended to think pensively before smiling. "Okay, I'll take it."

"We did what you wanted though mum, we screamed rape until her eardrums burst," Bella said.

"Good. Let's go home."

The End.
