*Awkwardly sashayes into view.*
Hey, guys.
So.
How've you been?
If you're wondering why I never updated, the answer is this – I totally lost interest. Yup. There it is.
So why am I updating now?
Short answer: I'm not.
I've got good news and bad news.
Bad news – this is the official end of Nicci Lonsen and 'Thank God the New Girl Came.' Truth is, I recently came back and re-read this story and I am hellishly ashamed of it. I had so many cringe attacks reading this, you don't even know. I'm leaving it up, because one day I might come across it and laugh and because some of you out there might have genuinely enjoyed reading it. (Don't know why, it's pretty bad.) You have to understand, I was only 13 when I started writing this. I thought it was really cool, but now it just seems two-dimensional and a bit annoying.
Good news – this is not the end of Alecta Gryffindor. The reason I came back to this story in the first place was because someone PM'd me and asked if she could re-vamp the story, to which I of course said yes. It's still Alecta, but she's a bit more interesting now. I've read the prologue and it's really good, so I suggest you go and give it a shot. The story is called 'The Keeper of the Keys' by mivyevans18. (I don't know why it's called that, so don't ask.) I believe that the new author is going to keep the Alecta/George pairing, so don't worry. She did mention that she's debating between George and Charlie Weasley as Alecta's love interest (though I have no idea how she's going to make that work). She's definitely fleshed out a few of my weirder plotholes, and I'm almost proud to have come up with the idea.
For all of you that enjoyed Nicci's time at Hogwarts, thank you for being part of my Mary-Sue phase. Things were pretty sucky in my life when I wrote this story, so I wanted Alecta to be all the things I wasn't. Things are much better now – I might even take a crack at editing my other story, which isn't quite as cringe worthy.
I wish you all the best!
