Hello! Sorry if this is a bit OOC, since even I will agree that I probably tried to dig a little too deep into Envy. And, even though you already know this, I don't own FMA or any of its characters, blah, blah, blah, whatever. Anyways, enjoy! Oh yeah, I know I'm using masculine pronouns for Envy, even though he's an it in Brotherhood… I think. Anyways, I'm calling him a he because calling him an it sounds mean. (That isn't meant to be offensive)

Jealousy. Practically a synonym for Envy's name. Yet, despite this, Envy had always believed that no one would find out… Not a human child, at least.

Envy had always said he despised humans. This was true, though not necessarily for the reasons he stated. He had always said he looked down on humans, trying to hide the fact that he was actually… jealous. What's more, he was jealous of their friendships and inner strength, things Envy always said he despised or even flat out stated humans lacked.

While Envy truly was an awful being at heart, he hid behind himself and acted, as well. It was true Envy loved human pain, partly because it helped curb the jealousy that disgusted him so. While Envy also enjoyed human struggling, it was to a lesser extent. Frequently, he said he enjoyed it in hopes to appear indifferent to the species, or at least to hide what he longed for so much. And, while most emotion Envy portrayed was genuine, he occasionally exaggerated among other things, hoping to conceal even the slightest signs of weakness. Envy hated appearing emotionally or physically weak, one reason he loathed his true form so much.

And here he was, in his true form and completely at mercy to these humans. Even more, Edward Elric, of all people, had discovered his secret. Now, so many humans knew. Realizing this, Envy felt… fearful. What if he was being pitied? Envy never wanted to appear weak, in need of support or help. Such a wave of emotions crashing over him, Envy failed to hide any thing. And now, he was completely falling to pieces, the humiliation was too much to bear. However, there was one way out… All he needed to do was find his Philosopher's Stone. It was quite ironic, since Envy had practically begged to live just a few minutes ago, specifically stating that he didn't want to die. However… things had changed quite a bit…

Freedom… Finally, freedom from himself and this wretched world.

Anyways, hope you liked it, because it sure was fun to write. Anyways, R & R. Pwease? *.*
