"Senel, what is that?"
"Oh. I ordered it a couple months ago. Barely came today."
A moment of silence passed.
"Okay, but... What is it?"
"Huh? Oh, it's called a computer. A new invention from Rexalia."
Chloe shrugged and continued on her journey down the hall to put the week's laundry in the washer. She was just about to add detergent when-
"OH MY GOSH!"
Startled, Chloe jumped and promptly spilled the cap-full of detergent down the front of her uniform. She raced back into the other room to see what was the matter.
"What's wrong?"
"IT BURNS!" Senel promptly fell out of his chair and onto the floor, scrubbing at his eyes with the heels of his hands. "Geez, is THAT what 'M' means?"
Confused, Chloe looked at the new computer-
"Huh...?"
She started to read the first few sentences on screen, only to become even more confused, then mildly surprised.
"Who would...? Huh? I don't get it." A thought came to her. "Wait a second. Do you think we're being spied on?" Her hand went to the hilt of her sword and she started to scan the room for hidden cameras.
"NO! It can't be that we're being spied on because I would never do something like THAT!"
Chloe raised an eyebrow as Senel shakily got to his feet. She looked back at the computer screen to read more, but before she could, Senel jumped in front of the monitor, arms outstretched. "Don't! I care too much about you to let you be scarred for life!"
Chloe rolled her eyes. "Senel, I've seen bloodied corpses, killed countless monsters, nearly a killed a human being, and even saw Sandor dress as Shirley. I doubt anything on that screen could scar me for life."
But when Chloe started to push Senel out of the way, he took the mouse and violently started clicking at random things on screen. "I only read the first two paragraphs and already I can't get rid of the horrible images in my mind!"
"Coolidge, get a grip and just let me read it."
They struggled over the mouse for a good thirty seconds before Chloe managed to elbow Senel in the gut. Senel fell to his knees with a grunt as Chloe sat down in the chair and started to read.
Senel looked up, clutching his stomach. He let out a relieved sigh. "Oh, good. I managed to get something else up on scr- Oh... Uh..."
Chloe's eye twitched.
A split second later, a blood curdling scream could be heard throughout Werites Beacon.
...xXx...
Norma waited impatiently as the screen slowly came to life. "Oh, come on, C. It can't be that bad."
Seconds Later:
"Pfft...! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Aw, man! This is so hilarious and so wrong on so many levels!"
"S-Stop laughing, Norma. I'll never be able to look at Elsa the same way again..."
"I'll never be able to look at Moses and Jay the same way again..." Senel shivered.
Norma suppressed another fit of laughter. "Oh, come on guys. They can't all be that bad." She turned her attention back to the screen. "Hm, let's see... Ooh, what's this one? 'How Valens Went Insane'..."
"WHAT?"
Chloe rushed to the screen while Senel, somewhat reluctantly, followed.
A few minutes passed before Norma once again burst out laughing.
"Hey, this is actually kind of funny... Er..." Senel gulped and looked away from Chloe's cold glare.
Chloe turned away from them. When she spoke, her voice was ice. "I swear by the Eternal Sword that if I ever find the person who wrote this, they will know just what an insane knight is capable of."
Light years away, Xonel shivered.
...xXx...
Xonel: Yeah, it would be scary to face Chloe's wrath if she were real and read my story. Heh, the kid in me is going "She IS real! She is! She is!" Lol.
