(NOTICE; this is just a preview. don't get upset if it isn't long enough, there's more to come.)

I'm such a horrible author. It's been a whole year and some change since I uploaded that author's note. I swear I meant what I said.

It's just that the older I get, the more things pop up and then I get preoccupied with... well... life. I don't have the time to sit on the computer for hours on end to finish writing a chapter like I used to. I simply just don't, and it saddens me because it just means that I'm going into adulthood.

I turn nineteen in a couple weeks, which means that I would have been on this site for about five years. I feel so old it's not even funny. I look back on my old stories and how I talked in them and how my personality was. I used to be so bubbly and full of life, but now...

I guess I'm just not innocent anymore. My eyes have opened up to the realities of the world.

But I still want to at least finish these last two stories before I'm finished. Who knows how long that'll take...

I know it's not much, but I do have a preview. I literally have not updated this story in almost two years so I wanted to give you guys a little something to wet your whistle.

Enjoi.

Amu looked at the mirror with a pout on her face. Her pink hair was tied up in a bridal up-do with streaks of curls falling over each side of her face. Her bangs were also clipped to the side.

She glared at the red strapless dress that she wore. She even had trouble breathing because the damn thing was too tight.

"You know, looking at the dress with such cloy won't make it disappear."

She looked over at Nagihiko who was calmly drinking tea in the corner of their dressing room. "I know that."

"Then why have you been staring at the mirror like that for the past fifteen minutes?" Kukai asked. He and Nadeshiko were getting fitted into their wardrobe in the middle of the room.

"Hold still Souma! Before I prick you in the ass," Yukari grumbled through the pins in her mouth as she forcefully held Kukai in place. He cringed slightly before doing what she said.

Amu turned away from her reflection and sat next to Nagihiko. "It's just not what I like to usually wear," she stated. Everyone knew that too well. Yukari rolled her eyes as she placed another pin in Kukai's shirt.

"It's for the music video. You have to look elegant."

"But in the script it says I'm a kidnapper. How does a kidnapper look elegant?"

Nagihiko chuckled. "I'm guessing you weren't listening to the director."

"Listening? She probably wasn't even there," retorted Kukai earning a glare from Amu in response.

"I was there, asshole," she grumbled.

"Anyway, you're supposed to be a kidnapper in disguise. A sweetheart with a mask," Yukari said as she stuck one more pin in Kukai's shirt. "There. Now you're all set. Come back next week and the outfits will be ready for the video."

"Does that mean I can take this stupid dress off?"

"Yes, Amu," Yukari exasperated. "Now go. I have things to do."

Amu and Kukai stood in front of Nikaidou's door; staring at it. He had asked to meet just the two of them which obviously meant that he wanted to discuss what the two band members have been doing behind his back.

"You think he'll yell?" asked Kukai. He was looking towards Yuu's office nervously. Amu shifted her golden eyes to the left.

"I honestly don't know. I've never really made him mad before," she replied before wrapping her fingers around the doorknob and pushing through.

When they walked in, they saw Yuu with his back towards them, looking out the window. He had a phone to his ear, and he looked as if his head was about to explode.

"Yes, yes, I know. But the order won't be in until NEXT week. You have to be patient." The next thing that was heard were static screeches coming from his cell phone, making him place it away from his ear. When the woman was finally done speaking, he sighed exasperatedly.

"...I'll see what I can do," was all he could say before ending the call. He sighed once again before turning towards Amu and Kukai. His expression turned from exhausted, to annoyed in an instant.

"You two." His voice was stern and serious; it made Kukai flinch slightly.

"She made me do it!" the auburn haired teen yelled, before pointing at Amu, earning a glare from her in return. "I hate you," she whispered.

Nikaidou rolled his eyes before sitting in his desk and motioning them to sit down in the two chairs in from of it. They obliged reluctantly. His gazed shifted to Amu, who was twiddling her thumbs, and looking to the side.

"I'm really not surprised that you went behind my back," he stated. "I'm just irritated at the fact that you two felt the need to risk yourselves into doing this. Do you know what could happen if someone were to find out who you actually are?" He stood up, and walked in front of his desk before sitting on top of it.

"I can't let this continue, Amu."

She snapped her head towards him; her golden eyes showing nothing but annoyance. "You're not my father, Yuu."

"I might as well be!" he exclaimed. "I have been the one taking care of you these past few years. Blood has nothing to do with it; you should know that more than anyone. I know you better than most of the people around you. You can't keep treating me like a best friend, or even worse a servant." He sounded tired. Like he was sick of all the stress that he was put under. He loved his job to death, but he really needed to take a break.

"Did I ask you to take care of me?" she asked. "I don't think so."

"Amu," Kukai warned. She didn't care.

"I'M the one that does the singing. I'M the one that does to tours. I'M the one that has to deal with the bloodsucking vultures that try to make every penny they can off me. People around here treat me like a walking dollar sign. I'm sorry that I wanted to feel like a fucking normal teenager." She stood up. "I'm not going to sit here and try to convince you to let me stay at school because apparently I have no say in what I do in my free time."

She walked out of the office, leaving Kukai and Nikaidou behind. She needed to think. She needed to distract herself. She needed to be understood.

And that was when a certain blue haired boy popped in her mind.

Sorry for the shortness. I promise that the actual chapter will be much longer. I wanted to give you guys at least SOMETHING so you don't think that I wasn't going to update.

If you have any questions or anything you have to say, feel free to just message (NOT REVIEW) me. All reviews I want to be strictly about the story and not about me.

Thank you so much for the patience, and I deeply apologize for my lack of updating.
