Disclaimer: I own nothing but the story line

This story was written as a challenge that DarkAngel048 gave me. Let me know what you think!

"You will fall in love with the wrong person, and it will shape the future of the entire world," the seer told Tom.

Tom laughed coldly. He knew he would never fall in love.

"If you think this is funny, maybe you should never have asked me to tell you your future," she sniffed, holding out her hand for the money.

Tom handed it over, walking away. That was when he saw him. His breath caught as his heart started pounding. What is this feeling? he thought with disgust. He tried to catch up with the boy, running through Diagon Alley. The fact that the boy hadn't noticed him yet irritated him. He finally caught up, putting a hand on his shoulder to stop him. The boy turned around, and Tom admired his features, shivering. Jet black hair, round glasses, and the brightest green eyes I have ever seen, Tom thought before catching himself.

"Do I know you?" the boy asked in confusion, brushing hair out of his eyes to reveal a lightning bolt shaped scar.

"No, but I have a feeling you're about to," Tom said. "I'm Tom Riddle," he added.

The boy's eyes widened. "What are you doing here?" he demanded.

"I don't know," Tom said. "I woke up this morning, and I was in a strange time. I think I'm in the future."

"You need to leave," the boy said.

Tom's eyes narrowed. "Do you think I would still be here if I could leave?" Tom refused to acknowledge that the boy made his heart beat even faster every time the boy looked at him.

What he didn't know was that Harry was facing the same problem. I don't remember him looking this good, the fifteen year old thought. "I'm Harry Potter," he sighed.

Tom didn't recognize the name, although he had a feeling he was supposed to.

"Let's go talk somewhere else," Harry suggested, walking toward an alley where no one would see them, fighting off the strong urge to kiss Tom. His desire to live was much stronger.

Tom followed, growing impatient. He wanted to get out of there and go back to his time as much as he wanted to kiss Harry.

"You can't be here," Harry said almost harshly when they had gotten to the alley.

"Why not?" Tom sneered.

"Because, Voldemort needs to stay in his own time."

"How did you know I'm Voldemort?" Tom asked.

"I can't tell you; it might change the future," Harry said.

"Tell me," Tom commanded.

Harry obeyed instantly, telling everything that Voldemort would do.

I can't kill him, Tom thought, looking longingly at Harry. Harry didn't see the look he was getting; he was too busy staring at the ground, cursing his stupidity. Tom made his choice. He now knew why he was there, and how he would get back. He pulled Harry toward him, kissing him quickly before stepping back and erasing Harry's memory of the incident. Almost instantly, he was transported back to his time, crying bitterly for what he would eventually have to do to his love.

I'm not very good at one-shots, I prefer to write longer stories. Anyway, this is my first attempt at both a one-shot and a Harry/Tom fic.
