Makoto smiled to herself as she was cooking breakfast for the day. It was heartbreaking at times, but she couldn't give Mamoru up. He was quickly becoming everything that she ever dreamed she would have in a man. Well... she always knew that Mamoru was a Prince even when not speaking of his blood, but she just accepted that she would never have him. Seeing Mamoru and Usagi together when they were younger had always given her hope though. That if Usagi could find a Prince Charming, maybe she could too.

Makoto started humming to herself as she began to plate the food. She was putting on the finishing touches when an excited knock sounded in the apartment. Makoto set the plates on the table and went to go let Usagi into her and Mamoru's apartment. "Good morning, Usagi! You look really excited." Makoto smiled at her dear friend. "Good morning, Makoto! I am excited! I will tell you and Mamoru over breakfast! Hehe." Makoto chuckled to herself, it must have something to do with Seiya. Makoto led Usagi to her spot at the table and sat down herself when Mamoru emerged from his bedroom, showered and dressed. "Good morning beautiful Princesses." He smiled that heart slaying smile of his and sat down at the table.

Usagi and Mamoru thanked Makoto for breakfast and the three dug in. Makoto was in an even better mood now that her new experiment waffles tasted delicious. She had mixed her famous blueberry jam into the batter, making the waffles a pretty blue color. It was a simple idea, one she was sure many had done before her... but it was new for her and that is what made it fun. "Makoto! These waffles are great! New recipe?" "Hehe you know me so well Mamoru." Usagi momentarily stopped eating and looked at the two of them. They seemed to be glowing. Usagi bit the inside of her lip at the sight, but held in her comments. Afterall, she felt like she glowed when talking to Seiya too.

"Oh yeah, Usagi, what was this exciting news you wanted to tell us?" Usagi snapped out of her thoughts and looked at Makoto. "Oh yeah! Well, you know how school is on break right now?" "Oh?" Usagi looked at Mamoru this time. "Yeah! So Seiya and the rest of the guys are going to do a short tour and they invited us all to tag along! Can you two come?" Makoto and Mamoru had a temporary face of shock. They shook it off and Mamoru looked to Makoto to see what she was thinking. She wasn't looking at him however. "I'm sorry, Usagi. I can't go... My assistant manager is taking the next week off and I can't leave my flower shop unattended." "Aww..." Usagi pouted, but gave Makoto an understanding look. Next they both looked over at Mamoru.

Mamoru was at a loss. He needed to quickly come up with a reason why he couldn't go. "Uh... Sorry, my college professor asked me to be his TA for the next couple of weeks. I can't blow him off now... Why don't you and the other girls have enough fun for me and Makoto then?" Usagi stared at the two, trying to read their minds. She sighed and then smiled brightly at them. "Ok, I will let the girls know!" With that she stood up and took her plate to the sink. She turned around to the two still at the table. "Well, we leave tomorrow so I gotta go get packed! See ya!" She bee-lined to the door and left. 'That was weird... she usually kisses Mamoru before leaving...' thought Makoto.

Makoto got up and started cleaning the dishes and Mamoru went back into his bedroom to finish getting ready for work. They both left at the same time and Mamoru gave Makoto a ride to her work. He pressed a lusty kiss on her hand before she got out of the car and started work for the day.

Makoto walked into the store and was happy to see her employees had already gotten everything all set up and were just turning on the open sign. "Good morning everyone!" "Good morning Makoto!" came the chorus back. Makoto was happy that all of her workers loved their job with her shop. She was lucky and she knew it. She walked in to the break room and put her stuff in her locker. When she walked out she was instantly surrounded by her two female employees. One was a year younger than Makoto and the other was a part-time employee who was still in high school. Makoto noticed that her only male employee was trying to look like he wasn't paying attention to what the girls were asking her. Her male employee was also still in high school.

"Makoto! Who was that handsome man that dropped you off just now?!" "Oh my god, he had such a nice expensive car!" "Is he your boyfriend, Makoto?" "Oooh, lucky!" Makoto was a little bit flustered by all the questions and comments. "Ho-hold on!" She spoke a little loudly. The girl's calmed down and the male came a little closer, wanting to hear the reply. "Ok, his name is Mamoru. I am not dating him, he is my friend's boyfriend. I recently moved in with him, since my apartments got closed down. It is temporary. Anything else?" Makoto chuckled when she was done explaining. The group had a couple more questions, but the excitement died down considerably when they finally believed her that nothing was between the two.

Makoto sighed as she turned off the open sign. They had been really busy today, and she only expected more the next day. She turned around when she heard the girls chatting happily. She smiled at them and bid them a safe trip home. She loved the chime of the door and closed her eyes peacefully when she listened to when they left. However, the older girl mentioned how she was late on her period. Makoto came to a sudden realization. She hadn't had her period during this two month period of living with Mamoru. She almost became frantic with the thought of what that could mean. They had been careful, except for that one time when they had become so impassioned. Mokoto began to breathe heavily with realization and practically sprinted down the street once she locked the door. She made her way to a drug store and went to the aisle that she was looking for. She grabbed the pregnancy test off of the shelf and quickly went to pay for it. She asked for the restroom and the female gave her a sad look and allowed her through.

Makoto clenched her eyes shut and waited for the two minutes to pass. She almost cried out loud when she saw the result. Her hand began to shake and she didn't know what to do. This single event had ruined everything they had begun to hope for. That shiny future that they had been able to visit once. She took out her cell phone, and called the one person she felt she could trust with this information.

A couple of hours later, Makoto found herself holed up in Setsuna's apartment. "Makoto, how are you holding up?" Makoto had a hot cup of cocoa in her hands and she was staring at it absently. "I… I don't know Setsuna… how could I let myself get pregnant?" "Well… what does the father think?" Makoto cringed at the thought. She hadn't told Setsuna that Mamoru was the father, and she didn't plan to. "Setsuna, I need to take off for the time being… I don't know how and I don't know where… but you will keep them off my track, won't you? At least till I figure out what to do?" Setsuna, at a loss herself, slowly nodded her head. "Makoto, if you disappear, I will keep your secret safe here. Take this." It was a keychain in the shape of the time key. "This will allow me to keep an eye on you, and if you need me… just squeeze it. Good luck Makoto."

Makoto left Setsuna's house with determination. The sky was turning dark and she hailed a taxi to take her home. Once safely inside of the cab she began to place a call. A deep male voice answered, "Makoto-chan, did you rethink my offer?" Makoto almost chuckled in humor at the excitement in the man's voice. "Kapriel, I have decided to take you up on your offer. I am talking about the offer on my flower shop, by the way." She heard a deep hearty chuckle on the other side of the phone. "My lovely Makoto, I shall never give up on you. How about we sign the papers over a date tomorrow?" Makoto sighed, but bore with the man. "Okay, Kapriel… one date and you sign the papers." She hung up the phone, just as the cab pulled in front of her and Mamoru's apartment.

She paid the fare and made her way up into the apartment. When she opened the door she was greeted with a lovely smell. Mamoru came out of the kitchen smiling and holding a pair of steaming plate. "Mako-chan, I thought I would surprise you with a dinner of my own."

The night ended with the two smiling and laughing. When Mamoru woke up the next morning, Makoto was gone.

Author's Note: Well… I have been thinking about it… and I am going to make this into a story. I have a great idea for it and I hope it blows everyone away!
