Nanami: Hey! Your idiot writer here! So, I've made my decision. I am going to attempt to write a few chapters and finish each unfinished story, I can't promise I will be timely or anything(Especially considering I wrote most of this teaser in 2015). But, as proof I am actually going to get shit done, I posted this teaser of one of the final chapters along with this note.
An Angel's Cry
"What happened?"
Minato hesitated and eyed the taller man. How could he possibly explain what happened when he himself wasn't even sure? It wasn't as if the situation made any logical sense what so ever. All he could do, he supposed, was hope that Itachi wouldn't immediately direct him to the nearest mental hospital.
"Do you believe in miracles?" The blond asked, shifting uncomfortably with the dark questioning eyes. "It's hard to explain… But, Sasuke and I were walking, and we heard a girl scream. We went to her and I tried but I couldn't move… Then this, invisible shadow thing attacked the people attacking her and they fell. Then Sasuke collapsed and he sounded like he was in pain," Minato explained and Itachi let out a sigh. Of course this would be how it happened. "I know it sounds-"
"You're not crazy," he reassured Minato. "Let's just get these two back." Minato nodded and lead the way back. While he minded the path, he couldn't help but focus on the girl. Something about her was painfully familiar. As much as he admired her silky scarlet hair and dark green eyes, they certainly weren't what gave him that sense of familiarity. He found himself unable to stop searching for the thing that kept pulling him towards a childlike bliss. A soft smile crossed his face as she shifted in his arms.
It wasn't long until they reached the house, Minato and Itachi carrying the pair inside.
"Kakashi," the shorter's voice called out, "we're back." As Minato started up the stairway he was met by Kakashi, Iruka, and Orochimaru.
"I'm impressed," Kakashi said, vaguely amused as he looked over the boy. "I only asked you to watch Sasuke, but you even brought her back," he praised and ruffled Minato's hair. Minato smiled and laughed sheepishly.
"Ah… About Sasuke…. He's downstairs. You should go help him." Kakashi raised an eyebrow but nonetheless nodded and maneuvered around the boy to tend to Sasuke.
With luck, the only visible injuries were cuts and scrapes on Sasuke's hands from when he collapsed. As the other two were lost in their own minds, Iruka took care of Sasuke's injuries.
"This is Orochimaru, and Orochimaru this is Minato," Iruka quickly introduced, "You can go with him Minato, he can help with her while I get the bandages," The mother hen instructed. Minato nodded and quickly walked down the hall to the room where she had previously slept with Orochimaru in tow.
Being Azami's first creation, he had strong spiritual senses and was able to notice certain things with much more ease than most. The pale man eyed Minato suspiciously, resisting the urge to yank the sleeping girl from his arms and push him away. This was one of the last situations Orochimaru had expected to find himself in, however, he knew he had to choose what was best in the long run.
"You think I'm an idiot, don't you?" Orochimaru practically growled, doing his best to avoid letting his want for payback take control. Now wasn't that time. The shorter sighed as he laid the girl down.
"I do," Minato answered without wavering. "You would have started this conversation a long time ago if you weren't."
"You have no right to touch her- You have no right to be within the same vicinity with her." He growled, stepping between the two and pushing the blond back. Annoyed but preferring to keep the peace, the blond let him. Orochimaru knew that he was much more powerful, but he also was aware that Orochimaru wouldn't hurt Azami's creation.
"You know I won't do anything to her, I brought the angel back safe and sound," he replied simply. "As far as the angel goes, I'm more concerned that she burnt herself with her own magic. Azami was thorough even with you to make sure whatever you can do, you won't accidentally hurt yourself." He sighed and eyed the girl. "But… She isn't just an angel, is she?" he asked. "Has Azami started making other heavenly creatures?" Orochimaru blinked for a moment before giving the blond a hard stare. What was he getting at? Was he really so stupid or did he have a reason to play dumb?
"Now isn't the time to mess around, Jashin," The venom was audible in Orochimaru's voice. The blond just shook his head.
"I'm not, she is probably just another angel then, right?" his voice wavered. Nothing seemed to add up. The blond's senses were rusty, it had been much too long since he had been with her angels for him to tell. His unsureness baffled Orochimaru. How could Jashin, of all creatures be completely missing it?
"It's Azami, she made a new body again. There's too much of her soul here for it to not be," He answered and suddenly everything clicked. Orochimaru wasn't being over protective of just another angel. And it wasn't just some angel that gave him this familiar sense. It was her.
The silver haired man's eyes widened upon seeing the teen.
"Lay him down on the couch," He first ordered the new comer in the living room whom easily did so. Kakashi immediately began evaluating his condition, pressing a finger to his wrist to take Sasuke's pulse. After a few minutes of basic procedures, Kakashi sighed in relief.
"You know what's wrong?" the other questioned.
"Yeah. His body's finally accepting his power. It just has poor tolerance since he waited so long. He's lucky." Kakashi pulled away. "Now, with luck, he'll be able to fully accept it all." Itachi nodded in agreement.
"We waited too long, Orochimaru should have raised him with him knowing about angels. Then this would be less difficult for Sasuke," Itachi stated, just as he had insisted when Orochimaru had begun to raise Sasuke.
"You know why he didn't though." Kakashi patted his shoulder, despite Itachi's monotone voice Kakashi knew it irritated him. "He was like you, an idealist, except he preferred to ignore how realistic those concerns were. He was hoping Sasuke could just be normal here." Itachi sighed and rubbed his forehead.
It was true, Itachi wanted the same for Sasuke. Instead, Itachi believed the best way to help him would be focused on the long term because he knew exactly what would happen without it. Sasuke would be in immense pain as his body began to destroy itself because he would unable to accept that he wasn't human. He would wake up, coughing blood and screaming into the night as the magic destroyed itself, unable to handle being ignored for so long. This was, as Itachi predicted, Sasuke's reality.
"Do you think he'll accept it?" Kakashi asked and the other let out a heavy sigh.
"I don't know, it'll all be up to Sasuke soon enough."
This is a teaser. Just to see if anyone is reading this story. I have a very strong inclination to finish this as long as I know that at least one person is still reading this story and wants to see the end. If you are really invested in how this story is going, the "chapter" following this one is a new author's note. I have some questions for my readers and more info pertaining to how finishing this story will go.
