I do not own Nightmare Inspector. I realize that Japan probably doesn't have Halloween, but this was just too good to pass up. Please enjoy.

Halloween always brought on more business at the Silver Star Teahouse. Not really because of the nightmares, but more or less because everyone wanted to see the "Monster" that lived there. Unless it was a serious customer, Mizuki would usually turn them out, with the offer of tea.

Hiruko never seemed bothered by the attention, instead acting the same as he did year round. Nothing ever really seemed to faze him, and much to Hifumi's disappointment, he didn't participate in any of the Holiday's that inevitably rolled around. To him, it was just another day of the year.

"How can you say that?" Hifumi would wail. To him, Holidays were the most important parts of his year. He celebrated with zeal, and always participated, usually with some overkill. The Baku would just sigh in resignation, and as usual ignore Hifumi's antics.

But this year something new was happening. There had only been one person that had visited the Silver Star for "Monster Sightings" and it was the evening before Halloween. Though Mizuki knew she should be appreciative, it actually had her on end. Something was afoot, and she didn't like it. She didn't know if it was Hiruko rubbing off on her, but she was coming to like her privacy and she couldn't help but feel that something like this could violate it.

"Aren't we going to pass out candy to the children?" Hifumi asked, leaning back in his chair, grin plastered on his face.

"I'm not." Hiruko replied matter of factly, not taking his eyes off the figures in the window. They were up to something…he knew it.

"Well of course you aren't." Hifumi muttered, snorting at the thought of Hiruko handing out candy to children. Hiruko didn't need a costume, he thought. He was creepy enough without one.

"I was talking to Mizuki." he added, hoping that his crush would hear him. She was looking rather distracted of late, as if she was worried about something.

"Hm? I suppose you can if you want too." She told him. So sweet, he thought, watching her turn and distractedly make some tea. He always accepted tea from her, knowing that she liked making it for people. She had gotten tired making it for herself.

Hiruko grunted and turned his head toward his two housemates. Mizuki raised an eyebrow at the Baku, noticing the knowing look on his face. It was one he got when he figured out something about a dream that he hadn't shared with a customer. She wondered what it was he had put together.

"I'm going up to my room." He said, smirking slightly. This time Mizuki was on full alert. Not only was Hiruko going up to his room when a customer could come in, he looked like he was about to enjoy something. Smirking was more like smiling for him then the actual smile itself.

Hifumi was oblivious, making a list of candy he could give out. Being rich, he didn't need to worry about the price.

They both jumped when they heard a hairsplitting scream and then some thumping. They both turned to the window and saw about six children fleeing from the teahouse, like a cheetah was on their heels. Mizuki felt a smile tug at her lips as she heard Hiruko come down the stairs.

"What in the world was that screaming?" Hifumi shrieked, looking around wildly.

"Hm? Oh, some children were looking for a haunted house." He paused a moment. "I had to…redirect them."

Mizuki turned away, smiling. She was starting to think that Hiruko enjoyed Halloween after all.
