For "The Flower Challenge". I had:
Pairing: Neville/Luna
Flower: Orchid
...
"Neville- come here," Luna called. Neville sat down onto the green grass next to Luna. They were currently walking through a southern Florida swamp. Neville was looking for interesting muggle plants to show his herbology class at Hogwarts School for "Muggle Day". Luna, his girlfriend, decided to tag along to look for hidden wizarding creatures for her new career.
"What do you want me to look at?" asked Neville as he bent down next to Luna,
She pointed towards a white and pink flower and replied in her usual dreamy fashion, "That's a really pretty flower. I think you'll be able to use it to show your class tomorrow. Though I'm not really sure what it's called."
"It's an orchid. An orchid represents love and beauty," Then Neville added thoughtfully, "Reminds me of you actually." Then he leaned in and kissed Luna.

Neville always kept the orchid he found and collected that day, in a vase in his bedroom. He didn't know why or how, but somehow the flower always represented Luna's state of mind. It perked when he suspected she was happy and drooped as he suspected she was misreable. There were only three times in his life when he saw it droop.
...
The first time he saw it droop was on Luna's wedding day. He had no idea why it would droop to be honest. Later that day though, when he was at the wedding he noticed a tear slide down Luna's cheek as she kissed Rolf. He was the only one there who knew it wasn't a tear of happiness.
...
The second time he saw the flower droop was on his and Hannah's wedding day. He saw Luna seated on a chair, at his outdoor wedding. She was wearing the usual sunshine yellow for wedding. Her husband was seated next to her, wearing a yellow tie. Her two children were seating next to her, both also wearing yellow ties.
Later as he was saying his vows, he glanced at Luna. She looked like she was in her usual trance, but this time she looked like she was contemplating about something sad to her.
...
The last time he saw it droop was on the seventeenth of June, a seemingly normal day. He had noticed the flower had been dropping lately and it only had one petal left at that point. As he was examining the flower he heard a knock on his door.
The figure of his wife, Hannah, walked into the room. She put her arms around her husband and said in a shakey voice, "Ho-honey, I wa-was jus-just talk-talking to Ro-olf. Lun-Luna pa-pa-passed a-a-a-way tod-" but Hannah couldn't finish. She burst into tears. She had been a good friend of Luna ever since the marriage. Then the last petal dropped.
...
A year later, Neville visited Luna's grave in rememberance. He was the only one in the graveyard that day. As he approached Luna's marble-white grave he noticed an orchid lying across the grass. He looked around and he couldn't see anyone. The orchid almost looked identical to the one they found that day. He could only wonder.
