Tristan looked down at Rory in concern when he realized that she had fall asleep against him once more. He was happy that she had ate like she did but he was concerned that she fell asleep at the drop of a dime. He looked at his father, grandfather, and Lorelai. "Is it normal for Rory to fall asleep as quick as she does?"

Lorelai sighed and shook her head sadly. "I think that her body is trying to catch up on all the sleep that she has missed, Tristan. Right now, she needs sleep more than anything because these last couple of months has taken a toll on her. Her body and mind need rest so it's best just to let her sleep if that is want she wants to do, Tristan. I'm glad that I pulled her out of school for the rest of the week and depending on how she looks Sunday night she may not go for the first couple of days next week. For the last twelve weeks, she has felt lost and alone even though she had Louise, Madeline, Paris, me, and then Logan and Colin. We really do need to get her into a doctor so that her and the baby can be checked over because she's went without Prenatal care for the last three months."

Janlan nodded and made a quick phone call before he sat back in satisfaction. "Mitchum's sister-in-law will be here within an hour and she'll bring an ultrasound machine so that she can check on the baby. I think we should talk about what I've found out now before Rory wakes back up because she doesn't need to stress any more than she already is."

Tristan nodded. "How did you find out that Amelia was the one behind Rory being stalked."

Janlan rubbed a hand down his face. "After reading some of the letters I got the feeling that whoever was stalking Rory wasn't doing so for their own reasons regardless of what the messages said. Amelia always liked to think that she would be the one who got everything if and when I died but that was never the case. I knew that she was cheating on your father but until he found it out for himself I couldn't say anything because I didn't want him to think that I was just trying to get him away from the woman that he never should have married."

Michael sighed as he looked at his father. "I know that I shouldn't have married her but I wasn't about to let my son be born a bastard. The woman that I was in love with back then wanted nothing to do with me because she wanted nothing to do with Hartford society. She chose the path she did and I ended up with Amelia while I was heartbroken even though I understood why the woman I loved did what she did."

Janlan smiled at his son. "Maybe you and her can both get it right now. Anyways, I thought to how Amelia reacted when she found out that Rory had been able to see you before you left for North Carolina, Tristan, and then I thought about the reaction that she had when she learned that Logan and Colin had started at Chilton and that they were close to Rory. I put some of my contacts on digging for information and they found a lot more information than I bargained for. I found out about your mother sleeping with boys at Chilton and how she got them to sleep with her. I found out that she had one specific boy that she was constantly giving money to and once he was questioned he admitted to everything so I had your father freeze all of her credit cards and make it where she couldn't access their bank account. I had a feeling that she would show up here so I made sure that there were some police on stand-by for if she did."

Mitchum nodded. "Amelia will be ruined before the day is out because all of her wrong doings will be in the newspaper. There isn't going to be anyone who wants anything to do with her once everything comes out and she deserves all that and more. That isn't all that we have found out which is why Rory will still have bodyguards even though her stalker has been caught."

Tristan narrowed his eyes. "What else have you found out?"

Lorelai cleared her throat. "It turns out my mother has been up to her old tricks again and she isn't going to stop no matter what I or anyone else says. She wants to see Rory with a boy of her choosing. She has been threatening for a while now to quit paying Rory's Chilton fees if Rory doesn't go out on some blind dates that she wants to set up. As of this morning that option was taken away from my mother to use because your father paid the remaining fees for Rory's schooling. It also turns out that Straub and Francine Hayden as cut Christopher off from any money unless he brings Rory around them. I will NOT let my daughter be used as a pawn by anyone."

Michael reached over and put a hand on Lorelai's arm. "We won't let them use Rory, Lore."

Tristan's eyes widened as he realized something that maybe he should have realized sooner. "The woman you were in love with years ago was Lorelai!"

Michael looked at his son and smiled sadly. "Yes, it was. I was nineteen and Lorelai was sixteen but I loved her even though I knew that I shouldn't have since at the time she was dating Christopher Hayden. When she ran away after Emily kept pressuring her to either marry Christopher or have an abortion I followed her but even though she loved me she couldn't see a way for us to be together. Lorelai didn't want anything to do with Hartford Society and at that time I couldn't find a way around not being in it because I was making a name for myself already at that point. Maybe it was fate because our children were meant to get together and that is why we never fought for one another like we should have. The one thing I do know now and the one thing that I can promise is that I'll fight for her now because there hasn't been a day that has went by that I haven't loved her. I don't give a damn what anyone says anymore."

Lorelai blushed. "We'll talk about things once things settle down a bit, Michael. I know that we have a lot to talk about and work through and we will but right now our main priority should be Rory and the baby that she is carrying. I know that once Emily learns about Rory's pregnancy that she is going to do whatever she can to get Rory away from me."

Janlan's eyes flashed with anger. "That isn't going to happen, Lorelai, because from now on Rory will be living here and so will you. I know that you have the Inn but you can make the thirty-minute drive every day until we know for sure that Rory and you are safe from anyone trying to get to you for whatever reason. I told you once before that you were the daughter of my heart and I meant it then just like I do now. Emily Gilmore may think that she can run yours and Rory's life but she's about to find out big time that she can't. I have already ordered both you and Rory new cell phones so when they get here we will get you new numbers. Robert and Rebecca will be back this evening and I know that they can't wait to see Tristan and meet Rory."

Tristan smiled softly. "It will be good to see them again."

Michael nodded. "Yes, it will. I haven't been the father to them that I should have been but I wanted and needed them away from Amelia. I just hope that they will give me a chance to prove that I can be a father to them." He looked at Tristan with tears shining in his eyes. "I hope that you will give me a chance to prove that I can be a better father to you."

Tristan kept his eyes locked on his father as he slowly nodded. "I'll give you a chance because I can see that you truly mean it. I'm sorry for the shit I pulled but I felt as if I was drowning. I hated having you so close but so far because you never had time for me. You let my so-called mother do and say whatever she wanted to me without trying to even stop her. From today on we start with a clean slate."

Michael smiled at Tristan. "I promise that I will be a better father and a better man than I have been. Besides I have to set a good example for my grandchild that will be here in six months."

Tristan's heart thudded in his chest. "Oh, hell, I'm gonna be a dad in six months."

Logan laughed. "You're already a dad, Tristan, and from what I can see you're going to be a good one. Now enough of this heavy shit. Let's talk about how we're going to get Rory to take it easy. We also need to think about decorating a nursery and how many of them there are going to be."

Lorelai laughed. "We can't really think about decorating until we know if it is a boy or a girl that Rory is having. We do need to get a crib, bassinet, baby clothes, blankets, and stuff like that. We also need to take Rory shopping for some new clothes because none of hers fit her properly right now. She is also going to need maternity clothes and for some reason I think she's going to need them sooner rather than later. We need to get hers and my stuff moved her at least stuff that we use every day until we decide what to do with everything else."

Michael sat back in his seat and pulled Lorelai into his side. He couldn't resist the temptation and kissed her head. "We'll get everything moved in and figure out what to do afterwards. Mitchum, can you handle doing the announcement about the fact that Tristan and Rory are expecting a baby? I think it best that we get it out there and not hide it from everyone because this way everyone sees that we don't have anything to hide."

Mitchum smirked. "I'll gladly write up the announcement. Lorelai, I have something that I would like to ask you."

Lorelai snuggled into Michael's side as she turned her head to look at Mitchum. When she saw the look in his eyes she was pretty sure that she knew what he was going to ask. "What is it, Mitchum?"

After looking at his son and getting a grin Mitchum looked at Lorelai with solemn eyes. "I would like to ask you if you would mind changing Rory's last name legally?"

Lorelai bit her lip to keep from laughing at how nervous Mitchum sounded. "What would we be changing it to, Mitchum?"

Mitchum took in a deep breath and let it out. "I'd like it if we could change her name to Lorelai Leigh Huntzberger instead of Lorelai Leigh Gilmore. Christopher Hayden may have been a stupid boy who didn't realize what he was missing out on but I'm not stupid. I have come to see Rory as my daughter and I would love it if she had my last name. It would also add another degree of protection to Rory."

Lorelai finally grinned. "As long as Rory doesn't care I'm all for the name change, Mitchum. I know how much you love Rory. If you want her as your daughter then you can have her as your daughter. I know that she could use a father that is for damn sure."

Mitchum sighed in relief. "I'll talk to her about it later today. I know that Shira loves her too and I think it will do Shira good to have another daughter even if it is only one by feeling and not blood since Honor refuses to come around us."

Lorelai chuckled. "You do realize that your wife gave me a heads up about what you wanted to ask me don't you, Mitchum? She didn't want me to be blindsided. Besides us women have to stick together since we're outnumbered by you men."

Mitchum rolled his eyes. "I figured that she would but I wasn't sure if she had contacted you this morning since I left the house as she was waking up. Shira has change a lot since Rory came into our lives and for that I can never repay Rory."

Lorelai shook her head. "Rory has that kind of effect on people without even trying, Mitchum, and she always has had that kind of effect. Your sister-in-law should be here soon and for that I can't wait because I want to see my grandbaby."

Everyone laughed at that and Colin asked, "Do you think Rory will let us all watch when she gets the ultrasound done."

Lorelai grinned at Colin. "I think that she will as long as it isn't an internal ultrasound that she is getting done. I have no doubt that Tristan nor Rory will want any of you to see her girlie parts if she ends up having to get an internal ultrasound."

Tristan scowled. "Hell no!"

Everyone laughed again and then sat back and talked quietly among themselves as they waited on Jasmine Yates to show up.
