So there's a couple psychotic vampires after her. That's old news. She's almost used to it by now. Almost being the key word.

After what seemed like ten thousand attempts in a month, she's come to the conclusion that she's a homing beacon for villains of the supernatural variety and Damon decides that she needs round-the-clock protection.

Probably because the last time she ended up having to call him for some backup (and she still hates the whole damsel-in-distress thing), his reply was a disbelieving "What, again? But I just-" Seconds later, he arrives in time to drive a stake through her latest attacker.

So naturally, he ends up inviting himself over and she ends up with a new roommate until further notice.

She's a bit disturbed that she doesn't mind that fact all that much - then she's disturbed at her lack of being disturbed-and now she isn't making any sense, so she's shutting off that train of thought.

Of course, Damon can't be trusted not to snoop. After all, he's evil, as he likes to remind her every so often.

"Does my brother know that I get mentioned in here more often than he does?" Elena stared at the sight of Damon flipping through her diary as he laid on her bed.

"Damon, what do you think you're doing?" She hissed, marching over and grabbing at her journal. "Give me that!"

Damon let it go without a struggle, choosing to occupy his hands with her teddy bear instead.

"And if you're mentioned, it's probably in the context of how much you aggravate me."

"Now you're just being mean," he chided her, waving her teddy bear's arm at her to emphasize his point. "But it's alright. I already knew about your crush on me."

Elena's eyes widened a bit before she folded her arms over chest, "I never wrote that in my diary!" she said defensively.

"No, but you talk in your sleep. My name gets mentioned a lot there too."

"Okay, now I know you're just making that up."

"But you do agree to having a crush on me."

"What? I never said that."

"You said you never wrote about it," Damon explained patiently, "You didn't deny it."

"That doesn't count!"

The smug grin on his face said that he didn't believe her.

"Oh shut up," she grumbled, although a hint of a smile played about her lips.

However, that didn't stop her from curling up against him as she drifted off to sleep. Luckily, Damon didn't seem to mind.

A/N: This is my first time writing for TVD and D/E, so I hope it turned out okay!
