I'm just a fanboy with crazy idea's. Please don't sue.

Long ago, there was a powerful warrior. He gained his power by having the ability to manipulate darkness. The power drove him to madness.

The Dark Warrior believed he was strong enough to rule over all the lands. He conjured up creatures made from the darkness and waged a century long war against the heavens.

In the end however, the gods gave twelve chosen individuals twelve jade figurines based on the animals from the Chinese zodiac.

The chosen ones were able to use the power given to them from the figurines to seal away the Dark Warrior inside a giant monolith.

It was there that they stood guard and waited should the Dark Warrior ever escape.

However, as time went on the chosen ones began to ignore and forget their purpose. In the end, they abandoned their duty and the jade figures that gave them their powers were eventually lost.

"Shi shi hokodan" shouted Ryoga before firing a blast of chi at a very amused Ranma.

Ranma easily dodged commenting, "You know I'm too fast for your technique."

It was another typical day at the Tendo house. Kasumi was in the kitchen, Nabiki was in her room, and Akane watched Ranma and Ryoga fight over nothing.

The ever angry Ryoga yelled, "Fight like a man Ran-"before a bicycle ran him over.

"Ni hao", called Shampoo before jumping from her bike and attaching her arms around Ranma.

"Get off," yelled Ranma. He knew what was going to happen next. It was all so routine. All he had to do was brace himself for pain.

"Ranma, you pervert," screamed Akane before punching him straight through the dojo.

The next thing he knew, she was being hugged by Mousse who again had mistaken her for Shampoo.

Ranma sighed, it was all so typical.

Meanwhile, deep in the woods, a warrior carrying a small bundle was close to finding something that was better off left alone.

"According to the legends, a great source of power should be around here somewhere. With any luck, the power can be used to restore you my lord," said Kiema as she checked her map. Normally she would fly, but she did not want to take chances with a baby strapped to her back.

Since Ranma had defeated Saffron, Kiema had been searching through the palace library for any possible ways to restore Saffron to his former glory. It was when she stumbled upon a book of ancient legends that she found what she was searching for. In the book, she read about a great source of power that could give one the power to rule. It was almost too good to be true. So Kiema took the baby Saffron and left Ho'o peak.

According to the book, the location of the power source was located in what was now modern Japan.

"It should be here," said Kiema. After walking for several hours, her map had led her to a large waterfall.

"Now what?"

Kiema quickly turned around. She felt a presence behind her. It was then that she knew what to do.

She put the infant Saffron down and turned towards the waterfall.

"One thousand bird wing slice," she called while flapping her wings, causing many blades of air to fire towards the waterfall. Soon after, several large boulders flew out of the waterfall and a dark fog emerged.

The fog floated and eventually settled in front of Kiema.

Kiema felt a strong power coming from the fog and much to her surprise, it spoke, "You may choose a reward for freeing me from my prison."

Kiema didn't say a word as she picked up the infant and held him in front of the fog.

"Such a simple request," said the fog. Within seconds, the infant was wrapped in darkness and seconds later, a fully-grown Saffron emerged.

"My power has been restored," said Saffron as he summoned a ball of fire in his hand.

"Your power can be of use to me," said the fog.

Saffron raised an eyebrow. He turned around only to find that the fog swirling around him.

"Who dares to defy me," shouted Saffron as he unleashed several waves of fire. However, the fog continued to swirl around him like a tornado until Saffron was consumed by the darkness.

"Lord Saffron," called Kiema. Foolishly, she leapt into the darkness in a futile attempt to help her master.

A minute later Saffron and Kiema emerged from the fog completely unharmed. The only difference was that their eyes had gone pitch black.

It was then that the fog seemed to gather and dissipate in front of them. Out stepped a man dressed in a black hakama. He had long black hair with a single white streak going down the left side. On his back, he carried two katanas.

The man smiled as he spoke, "You two are now my servants and I am your master. You may call me, Kage."

Saffron and Kiema then bowed. "Yes lord Kage," they said in unison.

The dark warrior then laughed maniacally as every animal, bird, and insect fled the area.

Cologne's eyes went wide, "How can this be."

She was in the Cat Cafe, serving ramen when she felt a powerful dark aura. It crept up her spine and caused her to tremble.

She hopped up on a table yelling, "The restaurant is closing early today. I ask you all to leave now."

Several minutes later, the restaurant was empty.

Cologne quickly hurried to her closet, pulling out a box.

"I had hoped never to use these," she said as she brought the box down to restaurant.

She didn't even raise an eyebrow when Ranma, Akane, Mousse, Ryoga, and Shampoo ran through the front door.

"You felt it too, didn't you?" asked Cologne.

Ranma was the first to speak, "Even the tomboy felt it. What's going on?"

"Now's not the time to insult me," yelled Akane as she punched Ranma in the gut.

"Aiya, what you do," said Shampoo as she ran to Ranma's side.

"Ranma, get away from my Shampoo," yelled Mousse as he ran to Shampoo, missing completely, and running into one of the support beams.

"Enough," Yelled Cologne.

They were in the air within minutes. Saffron and Kiema flew while Kage preferred to travel in his dark fog form.

It wasn't long before they reached Ho'o peak.

Saffron was the first to enter the palace. His presence alone caused nearly half the palace inhabitants to rush to the front gate in order to greet him. That was the plan all along. Before they knew what was going on, nearly the whole palace was covered in darkness.

Kage slowly walked through the castle and sat on the throne that used to belong to Saffron.

"This is a good start," he said to himself as the phoenix people bowed before him. All of their eyes had gone pitch black.

"What do we do now master" asked Saffron.

"Bring me a map of Japan," ordered Kage.

Saffron snapped his fingers and several winged soldiers left the room.

Kage continued to speak, "I want you and your soldiers to find a treasure of mine. A talisman. I had a follower of mine hide it when I was sealed away. This talisman of mine will allow me to summon creatures of darkness. With them, this world will be ours."

Minutes later, one of the soldiers came back in, holding a map.

Kage grabbed the map from him and quickly marked the location of the treasure. The mark was directly over what was now Furinkan High.

"Go" ordered Kage.

Within seconds, Saffron and ten phoenix soldiers were leaping from the palace windows and flying toward their destination.

"I must find a better way for quick travel," muttered Kage.

"So this dark warrior is basicly the master of darkness," said Akane as she processed the information.

Cologne thumped through a large book that she had brought down from her room, "Yes. He could very well be the most powerful force we have ever faced before. I don't even know if you all can defeat him with the power you already have."

"Oh please. I can take this guy down easy," said Ranma as he cracked his knuckles.

"This is no time to be overconfident," shouted Cologne, while whacking Ranma over the head with her staff.

She then hopped over to the box she brought down, "I managed to collect these over the years. You will need them if you are to stand a chance against the dark warrior.

She opened the box and revealed to the martial artist five jade figures. She grabbed them and tossed one to each of the five martial artists.

"They were once a set of twelve. One for each of the animals in the Sheng Xiao."

"Sheng Xiao, you mean the Chinese zodiac," inquired Ryoga.

"Yes."

The martial artist looked down at their figures. Ranma got the horse, Akane got the ox, Mousse got the rooster, Ryoga got the pig, and Shampoo got the tiger.

"What about the other seven?" asked Mousse.

"Who knows? I could never locate them. Who knows where they are," said Cologne.

Just then, Hiroshi and Daisuke burst into the restaurant.

Hiroshi, clearly out of breath, gasped, "Thank goodness we found you guys. You need to come quick."

"Some crazy bird guys are attacking the school," said Daisuke.

The martial artist quickly pocketed the jade figures and ran toward the school.

Faintly, they heard Cologne yell, "Remember, the power will come to you if you call upon it."

As soon as the martial artist arrived at the school, they hid behind some bushes in order to assess the situation. The winged soldiers were digging inside a large crater.

"What are the phoenix people doing here," asked Mousse.

"Look at eyes," said Shampoo.

"They're pitch-black," said Ryoga.

"That's not our only problem," Ranma pointed out.

The all looked to where Ranma was pointing and found none other than Saffron. He hovered above the soldiers and his eyes were as black as night.

"Is this the power of the dark warrior?" said Akane.

Ranma looked over the area. A plan formed in his head. It wasn't a good one but it was better than nothing.

"You guys wait here. I'm going to distract Saffron. When I do that, you guys take out the soldiers."

With that, Ranma was gone.

"Who does he think he is, bossing us around," said Ryoga. "Am I right Akane?"

Ryoga looked over to find that Akane was gone.

Ranma in the few minutes that he had left the group, Ranma had managed to climb to the roof of the school.

"Ok, all I have to do is jump on Saffron's back and get him away from the rest of the soldiers," he said to know one in particular.

"And what's the plan after that," asked Akane.

"I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. Wait, Akane what are you doing here and how did you get up here so fast?"

"I snuck inside and took the stairs. I wanted to help. If it weren't for me, you wouldn't have been able to beat him the first time."

"And what if something goes wrong. I don't want what happened last time to happen again. Just go back down and wait to attack like the others."

It was then that Ranma heard a loud battle cry. He and Akane looked down from the roof to find Ryoga's umbrella flying toward Saffron.

Saffron couldn't have cared less. He simply batted away the umbrella and shot a fireball in the direction it came from. This caused Rygoa, Mousse, and Shampoo to vacate their hiding spot.

"You dare to challenge me," said Saffron.

The phoenix soldiers began to fly out of the hole they were digging and got ready to attack. That is until Saffron shot them a glare, "Keep digging you insects."

The soldiers didn't bother to question their leader as the instantly went back inside the hole.

Saffron turned back to find Ryoga leaping into the sky with his fist ready.

Saffron responded by tearing off his wings and holding them like swords while replacement wing grew in their place. He then set his wing on fire and hurled them at Ryoga.

Ryoga was able to dodge one but the other hit him directly in the chest.

As Ryoga fell to the ground, Shampoo leapt up in his place.

Saffron was about to hurl another fireball but his arms were restrained by heavy chains. He looked down to find that the chains had come from Mousse. It was no matter though. Saffron simply raised the temperature of his fiery aura until the chains melted off him.

Saffron then flew downwards, causing Shampoo's attack to miss completely. As Shampoo fell to the ground, Saffron flew downwards and grabbed Mousse's chains as they fell. With one big tug, Saffron had pulled Mousse off the ground and swung him by the chains into Ryoga.

"What what you're doing you blind fool" shouted Ryoga, while shoving Mousse off him.

"It wasn't my fault," said Mousse.

Their arguing was silenced by a large fireball headed straight for them. Ryoga and Mousse quickly dodged. This was a losing fight and Ranma had still yet to make a move.

"Look Akane, please just stay out of the way," yelled Ranma. He then turned his back on Akane and leapt off the roof.

Faintly, he heard Akane yell at him, "Ranma you idiot."

Saffron was directly below him.

"Moko Takabisha" he shouted as a blast of confidant chi erupted from his palms. The blast hit Saffron in the shoulder and caused him to stagger forward.

"You" muttered Saffron. "Finally, real fight."

Ranma used the blast to land safely on the ground. "Didn't expect to see you so soon," he said.

The two then charged at each other as thought they were the only two left on the battlefield.

"That jerk. I'm a martial artist too and I could help if he'd just let me," said Akane. She watched the battle between Ranma and Saffron unfold. Ranma's attacks seemed to barely faze the phoenix king. And it looked like Ranma was starting to get tired. Akane could feel the heat from Saffron's body as thought she were standing right next to him.

It was then she felt something in her pocket. She reached in and pulled out the jade figure cologne had given her. The jade quickly turned into a yellow light and the light wrapped around her wrist. The light then solidified and formed something that resembled a cell phone. It had a a large yellow button on it with an ox face.

"This is unreal," said Akane. Then an impulse took over her head.

Akane pressed the button and shouted, "I need Sheng Xiao power NOW".

A light suddenly erupted from the device on her wrist. The light wrapped around her and she felt like she could take on the world. When the light dissipated, Akane found herself wearing a yellow full body outfit with a yellow skirt. The fabric covering her chest and torso was white and the Han character (Chinese writing) for ox was embroidered on the front. In the middle of her chest was a gold circle with the ox face on it. Their were black stripes along her arms and legs. She wore white gloves and boots with gold lining and a gold belt. The belt also had the ox head on it. Lastly, she now wore helmet that covered her head and had a large yin yang symbol on the forehead.

"Let's see how useless I am now Ranma" said Akane as she leapt off the roof.

While in midair, something materialized in her hand. It was a large yellow hammer.

"This will come in handy," said Akane as she prepared to strike.

Saffron and Ranma paused in mid-strike to look up and find someone in what looked like yellow spandex leaping from the roof of the school. Saffron barely had time to dodge as she came down with a hammer.

When the hammer impacted on the ground, a large crater formed underneath it.

Akane quickly recovered from her land and charged at Saffron, swinging her hammer wildly at him. The phoenix king found it slightly harder to dodge her attacks than Ranma's. Nevertheless, he waited for the right moment.

Akane was holding the hammer high for downwards strike when Saffron made his move. A large fireball erupted from his hands, striking the yellow warrior in the chest.

Akane flew back and was caught in midair by Ranma.

"What happened to you Akane," he asked.

"How did you know it was me?" she asked.

"I recognize your fighting style anywhere"

"I just wanted to help."

"I told you to stay out of the way."

"You could at least say 'thanks for trying' you jerk."

"You still haven't told me what happened to you yet."

"I'm not telling you until you ask nicely".

Their argument was cut short as another of Saffron's fireballs flew at them. Ranma was quick to move out of the way muttering, "Tomboy."

Akane quickly broke from his grasp muttering, "Pervert."

Shampoo, Mousse, and Ryoga ran up behind them. They all looked worn out from the fight.

Even Ranma sometimes knew when to swallow his pride. Ranma looked at Akane and forced out the words, "Please tell us how you were able to transform."

The defeated look on Ranma's face was all it took for Akane, "Use the jade figure Shampoo's grandmother gave us."

The four remaining martial artist quickly rummaged through their pockets and pulled out their figures. Just like with Akane, the figures turned into balls of light and wrapped themselves around their owners' wrist forming the cell phone-like devices.

They each pressed the buttons on the devices, instinctively calling out; "We need Sheng Xiao power NOW".

The light surrounded them and within moments, they were dressed in outfits similar to Akane's. There were several differences however. The first major one being color. Shampoo's outfit was pink, Mousse's was black with white stripes, Ryoga's was blue, and Ranma's was Red. They each had their respective animal face and Han character on their chest and belts.

Ranma quick to sigh in relief when he noticed the boy's suits didn't have the matching skirts.

The next thing he knew, weapons formed in their hands. Ranma held a spear, Shampoo held a pair of pink chui, Ryoga a blue umbrella, and Mousse a pair of nunchucks.

"Interesting" muttered Saffron.

They charged forward. Saffron for once was too slow to move as his shoulders were slammed by the combined power of Shampoo's chui and Akane's hammer.

He staggered back and before he could recover, he was hit across the face by Mousse's nunchucks. Then again in the chest by Ryoga's umbrella.

The phoenix king tumbled to the ground and barely moved out of the way when Ranma slashed at him with his spear. Even then, he sustained a large cut across his torso.

That's when another impulse entered their heads.

Mousse tossed his nunchucks to Ranma and Akane. They each held one of the clubs. Then Akane placed her hammer down on the cord that connected them. Ranma placed his spear on top of the hammer and Ryoga placed his closed umbrella on top of Ranma's spear. Shampoo finished it combination by attaching her chui facing backwards on each of the clubs.

Their auras began to glow and channel into the weapon combo. Then Ranma handed the club he was holding to Ryoga and grabbed the spear/hammer/umbrella combo and pulled back as though he were going to fire a giant slingshot.

When he could pull no more, Ranma released the now glowing weapons and they fired like an arrow towards Saffron. Following them were two large aura spheres that erupted from the ends of Shampoo's chui.

Saffron was unable to move out of the way on time and took the blast head on. When the dust settled, the five martial artists were shocked to see Saffron still standing with a large hole in his chest. To top it off, the hole was healing itself.

Saffron smirked when one of his soldiers came up to him.

"Master, we found the talisman", said the solder as he held up a silver disc with a four-point star engraved on it. On each of the pointes was a symbol that represented the four elements, fire, water, wind, and earth.

Saffron took the talisman from the solider and took to the sky.

He looked at the five warriors on the ground and said, "I can't play with you anymore. But I leave a parting gift with you. Instant Annihilation of All Mortals Blast"

Saffron pocketed the talisman, extended his hands, and fired his ultimate attack. The large fireball had to be the size of a large tree.

The blast hit the five martial artists head on and they flew back and slammed against the wall surrounding the school.

Saffron laughed and began the flight back the palace.

Ranma looked up to see him flying off. His strength was drained and he couldn't move. Everyone's suit had powered down and they were now in their street cloths.

"This isn't good," he muttered before passing out like the others.

So, what do you think? I'm going to try and do 30+ chapters. Each chapter will be like an episode. The length of chapters will vary because I'm not the best writer. I have a link on my profile that will take you to deviantart and give you a better idea of what the costumes look like.

Also most monsters won't be orginal creations. I'm just going to pick and choose monsters from the various seasons. So if you have a favorite power ranger monster, let me know.

Also I probably won't update this story as frequently as I've done others. I'll try to update every week/week and half but I make no promises. I do have a life and unfortunately, that life is very busy lately. But trust me I do want to see this story to the end.
