Taking a bits 'uva break from the recent AU kurohutsuji works I've been making to refresh this style of writing for myself once again.

TO SMILE.

"Sebastian..." The young, teal-blue haired Earl called carelessly, without looking towards the demon's direction from the table where he sat-

-back faced to the only window in the relatively small room, which gave no hint of light.

Cerulean eyes followed with slight interest as the wavering candle in front of them finally fluttered to a stop.

_Time begins_

Wax integrated. Smoothly molded with grace. Porcelain-esque.

Time elapses.

"..."

_Time ends_

Wax disintegrated. Roughly distorted with shame. Grotesque.

The scene, the thought, seemed to bless Ciel with a reason to smile.

For a demon, a smile in the dark was the easiest to detect, easiest to feel...the easiest to use to manipulate the holder's heart and mind with.

And as the small figure remained sitting through the long silence, with his contractor not too far away, he could clearly see that Sebastian had not yet answered him- because he had not in all of the day's session, given the dark-clad demon a reason to-

"Yes, Young master?" A lucid voice finally spoke. And calculating strides followed immediately after his words, towards Ciel's direction.

-but the smile had.
