A/N: Happy Birthday, L! Warning: The following one-shot is hilarious
and possibly slightly OOC. Read at your own risk.

L sat in his chair, staring intently at the screen. If it had been any
other day, L would have still been sitting at his computer. The Kira
case must be solved. That was all there was to it. He couldn't take a
break. Not even today, his birthday. Of course, only himself, Light
and Watari were here. Everyone else had gone to be with their
families, took their kids trick-or-treating, or were at an office
party for Halloween. Yes, today was October 31. L's birthday.
Halloween. L didn't have a problem with his birthday falling on this
particular day. He just got quite lonely sometimes. Of course, it was
hard to feel lonely right now, especially while he was handcuffed to
Light.

"...something sweet?" Light's voice inturrupted L's train of thought.

"I'm sorry, Yagami-kun, what did you say?" L asked.

"I said it's unhealthy to sit around and work constantly. It's
Halloween, L. Don't you want to go out, do something, possibly get
something sweet?" Light asked.

"No. I am fine." L said, then continued to work.

Light rolled his eyes and sighed in annoyance.

"I don't care. We're going to anyway." Light said, pulling L out the
door. L of course, protested; however, Light overpowered him and
pulled him into the kitchen.

In the kitchen there was a cake on the table. It had orange frosting
and on it, in black frosting letters were the words "Happy Birthday
L." L could only stare in amazement. "Yagami-kun, how did you know
today was my birthday?" L asked. "Oh, I have my ways." was his
response.
The two boys looked at each other.

"Watari." they said simultaniously.

L laughed, which was unusual for the dark-haired detective.

"Thank you, in any case." L said.
"Here." Light lit the candles so L could blow them out. Once he did,
they proceeded to cut the cake and eat some of it.

"You know, L," Light said inbetween bites, "it'scustomary to play a game on your birthday."

"Really?" asked the detective.

"Uh huh. Wanna play a game?" Light asked.

"Oh dear. I fear any game I play with you is not going to end well.
Proceed." L said.

"It's called the penis game." Light said.

L blinked. "And there it is. I'm going to bed."

Light stopped him. "No way. Misa made me play on my birthday, so I
fear you must suffer as well."

L sighed. "Okay. How do you play?" he asked wearily.

"Well, the first player says 'penis.'The second player then says it
louder than the first. Then the first player has to get louder. And so
on and so forth." Light said.

L put his thumb in his mouth. "Well alright then. Penis. I believe it
is now Yagami-kun's turn?"

"Yes, it is. Penis." Light said slightly louder.

"Penis!"-L

"Penis!" -Light.

"Penis!" -L

"PE-NIS!"- Light.

"PENIS!" L yelled.

"PENIS!" Light yelled louder.

It was at that time that a few members of the task force came in the
kitchen with their children coming back from trick-or-treating.
Unfortunately, the two boys were so far into their game they didn't
notice them come in, and they continued to play.

"PEEEEENNNNNIIIIIIIISSSSSS!
!" L screemed.

"PEEEEEENNNNNNIIIIIIIISSSSSSSS!" Light screemed louder.

"!" L shreeked.
He then grinned triumphantly.

"I win." L said.

One little girl by her father's side looked up at her father, then
back to L and Light.

"Daddy, what's a penis? And why was the Halloween panda yelling that?"
she asked.

The girl's father glared at L and Light and left with his daughter.

"Hahaha...Happy Birthday, L." Light laughed.

"It's not funny. I knew any game I played with you would suck hard." L
glared at Light.

Light laughed. "Hold up, L. That's an entirely different game." he said.

L turned red, then glared at Light.

"Shut up."
