I tapped my ridiculous looking foot against the pavement as I waited in the dark for the next bus to come. I couldn't believe Alice just left me at that bar for some guy dressed like a soldier. I mean I get it, they're hot, but now I'm standing here alone in the middle of the night looking like some fucked up cartoon on crack.

In all fairness, I did allow Alice to dress me as Ms. Pac-Man for this Halloween. It was my only way of getting out of going as a sexy-something. That whole 'showing off my goods because it's Halloween' is totally not my thing. So I hid in this monstrous yellow blob instead.

Every guy that passed by me decided to say something vulgar anyway.. By the time I'd been hit on by a Leprechaun and a Bull fighter and refusing to be a "goddess" to someone rambling about Tiger Blood, I was exhausted and my bus was more than twenty minutes late.

I felt someone step next to me, but I was so pissed off I didn't even bother looking. He cleared his throat and I turned towards him, ready to let him have it for the cheesy pick up line I was about to experience. I froze as soon as I saw him and cocked my eyebrow.

"You've got to be fucking kidding me…" I eyed his Pac Man costume up and down and sighed.

The massive yellow blob beside me shifted towards me and back to the road without a word. He started rocking back and forth from his heels to his toes as we waited together in silence. This was fucking awkward.

I leaned into the street and prayed for any sign of my bus coming so I could get the hell out of here and start planning where I was going to hide Alice's body because I was most likely going to kill her for putting me through this. Soldier boy better be worth it.

A commotion behind us made me jump. I spun around just in time to notice three ghosts from Pac-Man running by us. Pac Man and I turned towards each other and stared for the longest moment. I shrugged. He shrugged. We both took off running after them.

We chased them to the nearest park and tackled the complete strangers before heading back to the bus stop.

"Who told you what I was going as Edward?" I turned towards my companion.

"Why do you think Alice was okay with you dressing like that?"

"You planned this?"

"You wouldn't answer my calls. I had to talk to you somehow."

"Well talk." I spotted the bus in the distance.

"I'm sorry I forgot our anniversary. And I love you." The bus pulled up. Edward held out his hand as I debated. "Walk home with me instead." I made him suffer for a moment more before I took his hand.

"I pick the costumes next time," I mumbled.
