AN:/ Alternate Ending to Peter Pan (2003) Version. Just after defeating Hook.

Wendy approached Peter, as the lost boys started crewing the ship.

"Oh...the cleverness of you"

He smirked, shrugging. Fairy dist encased the ship making it rise above the sea and into the sky, leaving morning, past the second star on the right and headed towards the nursery in London.

"Will you not return with us, Peter?" Michael asked, already knowing the answer but aching for a different one.

"You can't catch me and make me a man" Peter frowned at the ting of familiarity of the sentence, shrugging.

"Nor can you catch me and make me a woman" Wendy stood on the starboard side of the ship, smiling.

"But Wendy...what of mother? Father?"

"I'm quite positive plenty of sons are enough compensation for the loss of one mere daughter"

Peter descended the stairs, a blank look on his face, hope glimmering in his eyes.

"You want to stay? A child...never moving forward, forever..."

"Childhood is not from birth to a certain age and at a certain age, the child is grown, and puts away childish things. Childhood is the kingdom where nobody dies."

Wendy smiled at Peter's answering grin, their lips meeting once again, her arms around his neck and his around her waist, the happiness lifting them up in the air, above the ship as it descended to the nursery window and the former lost boys found a home. A bright glow surrounded Peter & Wendy; and too Wendy's mothers heart. For what better than to have your child live in happiness and innocence, never having to know the languish of adulthood. Never having to age and worry. Never having to grow up. Never living in a world of rule and work; to live in the land of free.

Never is an awfully long time.

AN:/ Short but sweet. :)
