Chapter 22

My eyes fluttered open. I felt like I just woke up from a really really really really really really really long and comfortable sleep. For two years, to be exact. These expensive soft beds are just heavenly!

I started thinking of ways I could somehow bring it home to my room without anyone noticing.

Stealing? No, no, I'd rather call it... Sharing with the less fortunate who don't have beds as comfortable as these. Besides, I'm sure no one would mind- they'd just shrug it off and buy a replacement because that's how filthy rich they are. The thought alone irritated me.

Darn these rich people.

Anyway, I stayed under the covers for a few more minutes, soaking up all the comfiness which I probably would never experience ever again, while staring at the ceiling.

Come to think of it, I didn't really know what we were supposed to be doing out in this place. I just kinda went along with everything since I would never hear the end of it from Miku if I didn't. But lying here, on this soft piece of heaven- I started rolling around on the bed- I'm starting to think this wasn't such a bad idea after all.

Was Len up yet? I sat up on the bed and looked over at the couch to check. There were pillows and a neatly folded blanket on it, but no Len.

Huh. I guess he went out. That's strange. I figured he would be the first face I'd be seeing today, but I guess not.

I'm not disappointed, what are you talking about? Hmph!

I started getting up, while making the bed from heaven. Couldn't leave it all messy when Len, that spoiled little brat, even cleaned up his little couch area.

Once I finished, I headed downstairs and found everyone seated around the dining table, having breakfast. I'm not even going to write about how I wanted to shove all of the food on the table-except for the Hatsunes' leek dishes- into my mouth at once, because I think you get the point.

"Oh, Rin! Good morning, my love!" I ignored that. Didn't even look at him. After what happened last night and this morning, nope. Not gonna pay attention to him.

"This seat open?" I asked Luka and gestured at an empty seat between her and Kaito. I glanced at her plate and saw she was eating sushi. I'm guessing tuna.

She nodded curtly, so I went ahead and took a seat. I forgot to mention, even though it should be awkward between us after the whole kissing incident, it really wasn't. Probably because both Luka and I weren't the kind of people to make a fuss over those things. It was nice!

"Awwww, but I saved you a seat right next to me!" Ignored.

Len kept calling for me from across the table for a few more minutes before he realized how embarrassing whatever he was doing really was.

By then, I heard a chuckle beside me. "Little Len-Len do something to you last night, Rinny?" It was Kaito, grinning beside me.

I shoved a piece of the heavenly breakfast into my mouth. "Hah, he tried," I answered. "It'll take a million years before I let that guy touch me at all." I added with assurance.

Kaito shook his head with a laugh as he finished off his breakfast and had... ice cream? After breakfast? O... kay. To each his own, I guess.

Apparently, Len heard this and somehow began dialing on his phone. I didn't know the details, but I heard him say something like, "Professor Taka? Have everyone working double time to look for some elixir which will enable me to live a million years more!"

Everyone laughed. Meiko, who was sitting beside him, slapped him behind the head- which I cheered for. She grabbed his phone and from what I gathered, tried to retract whatever Len had said to the person on the other line.

I rolled my eyes at Len and finished my plate with a smile which would not stop playing on my lips.

That idiot.

As for updating, I may be able to do at least one chapter a week! If I get lucky, I might be able to upload more than one, so fingers crossed! Each chapter will consist of at the very least 700 words, so it'll probably take a while to finish the whole story, ehe.. But if I recall correctly, you guys voted for 100+ chapters for this fanfic, so I guess it should be fine? ww
